It shouldn't have been allowed to come to this ie regarding ryan kent and alfredo morelos possibly running down their rangers contracts and leaving for free at the end of this season ?I still think both will stay beyond january and 'till the end of the season with us ?I have a strong feeling ryan kent will stay and sign a new deal, as our management team quite clearly rate him very highly and our no.1 winger and i personally do also as like i've always said ie form is temporary, class is permanent and nobody will convince me that kent isn't a very talented footballer, because he is and is clearly off form and very low on confidence ATM ? I have a sneaky feeling alfie will leave at the end of the season, as our management team clearly see big colak as our no.1 striker and will replace morelos i feel, at the end of the season ? What's other posters thoughts on this ?.

The last year there has been seemingly more times than I can count. contact negotiation and nothing has developed what so ever this is extremely bad from the powers above if this is left to happen.

Sws that is a strange comment regarding Morelos, why does he mostly play big games in Europe then? I hope he signs a new contract, yes Kent is top notch on his game but I truly feel he wants to leave our club I hope I am wrong tho.

Talented - yes.
But it doesn't happen often enough.
Kent is the only player on this forum where he gets multiple excuses for his poor form or what he brings to the team.
Apparently he should be excused for any poor form because:-
Wingers are inconsistent ?
He assists the assist?
He always has 2 players marking him?
He tracks back?
Etc?.

Kent with his cute way of keeping the ball active and passing to Borna for Tavs goal was what he brings to the table . If he does sign a new contract hopefully he will be reborn and become the player we all want to see week after week. he is a showboater like antony at manu . that's what fans pay to see live. It is after all - competitive entertainment.

My thoughts.

Morelos is our player until the end of the season unless someone makes us a good offer in January.

He may sign a contract that reflects what the club wants, if not he leaves.

If he signs a new contract he gets my support, if not he goes with my best wishes.

Same situation as as Kent and Goldson last season.

No doubt we will be looking at players at other clubs in the same situation with a view to bringing them in with no buyout.

Move on.

Kent has done very little to deserve a new contract, I'd like to see him leave, we've spent a fortune on him on transfer fee, wages and bonuses, hasn't been worth it imo.

I can't say I am happy with the situation but I do accept this is a part of modern football.

I am not too fussed if they stay or go, though I don't trust Alfie to play critical games if he signs precontract elsewhere. Kent is more professional so not worried about him in that way.

They both need to make a big decision. They will get better money elsewhere but will drop a level in football terms leaving us.

I don't get the form is temporary comment for Kent sorry. That's for players who've delivered for years. He'll go down as yet another of wonderkid who didn't fulfil potential. He's not had short dip in form, It's the class part of him that's been temporary.

Kaiser agree mate. can't say form is temporary when he's had a handfull of good games in 18 months. That woukd suggest that his form IS temporary. He should be hitting double figures for goals every season no excuse.

I don't understand anyone who wants to keep these two. If we wish to improve as a team then we cannot hold on to a player who gives us one good game in ten and another whose time has come to a natural end. Tomthumb is right when he says both stayed a season longer than they should have. Time to renew and regenerate.

Just think what kind of season we would have had without Colak. We used to say that of Morelos and now we are saying it Colak. So, it's time to move-on. Same goes for Kent. Take the money and keep marching.
