And there we have it, the defender I’ve been wanting since away last year is. In Glasgow to finalise his move to Celtic. Years loan for Nat Phillips of Liverpool. He’s solid. Outstanding in the air. A real no nonsense defender.
We have sat on our arses on this one and to add insult into thh th e bargain his dad used to play left back for rangers.
So he would ? definitely have came to rangers if we went for him. Better player than Harry Souttar that’s for sure. Better than jake cooper aswell. Even better than Conor.

He's 26 with under 60 first team appearances, and most of those came because Liverpool had about 7 centre halfs out at the same time. Hardly the second coming of Maldini and certainly not better than Goldson or either Souttar.

Guy earns over £60k a week and would command a decent fee so doubt we could persuade him to come here permanently, ot afford what Liverpool would ask for in a fee.
He was on loan at Bournemouth last season so no chance we could have got him last year either. He’s going to Celtic for games and because they have a shortage of centre backs just now it probably suits both parties.
Not saying he wouldn’t have done well for us but given the likely cost involved I don’t think we would ever move for him so don’t think we have missed the bus on anything. Say we take him on loan, are you going to make a loan CB out highest earner and drop one of our signed players for a full year to accommodate him?

I like where your head is at type of player wise been on about a defender that can defend or box at crosses for. Awhile souttar is ok in that area but still think he will get dragged out of position against better opposition. But he is the type of defender you need for the Scottish game.

Harry Souttar far superior to Philliips and his Da played one ineffective season with Rangers so don't get on that road - In my opinion they're welcome to him.

Exactly what we need. Players available and we’ve missed out on him so I think that’s sitting on our arse.

My oppinion that he’s going to be the best defender in Scotland anytime a seen him which was often when Liverpool had their injury problems he was outstanding.
Ed’s correct it’s his lack of pace maybe held him back but Liverpool valued him at £17m so he clearly has a bit about him and no shame in not being able to get into that team.
Think we’ve missed the boat with that one as if we had asked John I’d wage a bet he’d have said yes, if he’s willing go Celtic he’d have came to us.
