Money aside, would anyone else feel as uncomfortable and disgusted if we signed Goodwillie? We should steer well clear of this. Given the headlines he has attracted and recognising the many female fans who follow the team, what kind of message would it send? Not looking to provoke, just wonder what people think.

Govan FR_CPL

1.) Nothing has ever been proved is he just a victim of someone trying to get some money he is a good player and would be a great addition to the squad we can't always believed paper talk

2.) David goodwillie would never been considered for a rangers player because of his past history even in rececent time derek riordan had his move to rangers blocked by daavid murrray the same should happen with goodwillie auld adage once a troublemaker allways a troublemaker there should be no place for this at ibrox no more weak decisions like the ian black affair which tarnishes the clubs reputation

3.) 15 Jun 2014 13:55:52
ed what do you make of rumours circulating that charles green is launching a new bid to buy rangers this drama has got to end it is becoming more and more laughable as the days go on its getting to the point you do not want to buy a paper for fear of what is going to be in it. next season is going to be plagued again by claims and counter claims and with the enquiry into the conduct of duff and phelps handling of the whole administration of rangers ongoing the findings will more and likely be out soon. shambles complete shambles.

{Ed039's Note - Never ending circus James, I think Chuckles is trying to scare the fans into buying season books mate, I bet when that news broke there was a small spike in renewals lol)

4.) 15 Jun 2014 21:02:31
I agree. Mate, no place for him at Ibrox, having read the story in detail and noting that the girl gave up her right to anonimity I believe her, and it disgusts me, I don't want to see a man like that wearing our jersey, ever, we need him like a hole in the head, he would like be slaughtered anyway by evry fan in scotland,, not needed nd not wanted

We have to give Stuart McCall and the new Board time. I believe we will see more youth making the breakthrough between now and May. Miller etc will still feature but the club needs two things. One, a push to get into and through the playoffs. This is going to be tough. Second, a base for next season. I hope the majority if not all the out of contracts to be shown the door. We will need some seasoned pros to slot in amongst the youngsters. We also need to get back to full houses. I'm disappointed that we didn't have a bigger crowd on Saturday. We have the new Board and manager which we clamoured for. We now have to trust them even when the product isn't pretty. Broad or narrow remember. Stay aways need to come back. Our group of five are working tomorrow night and can't get off for the game yet we can't GIVE our tickets away. Like most on here, I crave and dream of a better future. I think it will come, but we need togetherness so we eventually have a chase to welcome.

Govan FR_CPL

1.) 16 Mar 2015 20:14:41
It wasn't the manager everyone clamoured for so that's not true. It was inevitable that the team would struggle as McColl picked most of players who haven't performed all season. Players like McCulloch, Law, Miller, Clarke and Hutton. The reason the crowd wasn't better is that the Rangers support are fed up with the dross that's being served up for the past 3 seasons

2.) 16 Mar 2015 20:29:59
For me mcculloch at least looks like he is trying. Daly law Wallace moshni zaliukas don't want to be here by the looks of it

3.) 16 Mar 2015 20:41:50
I get that Stewie. We clamoured for a new manager. Full stop. We have an interim option. Don't get me wrong, it can be hard to motivate yourself to watch some of the crap we've had but my opinion, and it's only mine, is that if you can take the great days, we need to tough it out too. Happy to agree to disagree but I dare say we will have a whole bunch getting tickets for the big games when they come back around. Fair play to the fans who have stuck it out. And to those who chose not, I respect their choice whilst not agreeing.

4.) 16 Mar 2015 21:35:56
Govan FR.-CPL.

To a certain extent I do agree with you however the fans have turned up in great numbers since demotion to the bottom tier and are entitled to watch better football than the dross that's being currently served up.

5.) 16 Mar 2015 21:55:52
Yep, I accept that. I'm only hoping now some togetherness and a fantastic atmosphere at Ibrox might inspire our underachievers. It's a big ask and we are up against it big time. Let's just hope next season sees a new team we can be proud of.

6.) As GovanFR says it is Follow Follow time, if only the greetin faced fans had been more voiciferous during the Blind Faith Ally years we might not be in this woeful state with our "old pals act" squad of lazy free loaders. The policy of buying players 3 leagues above the standard required had bred a type of player that up til now hasn't needed to train hard and didn't need to play that well either to get through the 4th and 3rd divisions, as a result we now have a squad half filled with 70% fit, lazy, overpaid, overweight chancers only interested in the next wage packet.

I can see (I pray) the bulk of them being dumped and youth plus a few out of contrats being McCall's route to saving our season. I just hope the 2/3 games he will need to mix and match to blend a fighting Rangers pround group will give him enough games - 7/8 to have them playing well enough by the play offs.
If he does match and beat a well oiled and good team Hibs to get to a final 2 games and takes us to the SPFL it will be an amazing managerial performance from the depths we are currently.

I have faith he can do it and wish him all the luck he can get I hope the fans at Ibrox back him.

Unbelievable today. Whether or not you agree with me is immaterial however I emailed the ticket office and explained that I had not yet renewed. I provided all my details and asked if the seat next to my mate, a few rows back, and who has renewed, was still empty. If so, I said I would renew and take it. I got a stiff, "Dear Supporter" response advising that if I didn't renew my current seat, I'd have to wait until mid June and take my chances then. Clearly, they don't need or want my £400 that badly. I know there's the renew/don't renew argument and the real fan/deserter chat which I'm not interested in but just couldn't believe that response today. Has anyone else had this chat from our ticket office?

Govan FR_CPL

1.) They must be really pleased to hear from the likes of you - angry, irate and hostile.

Do you realise that when you phone up you are talking to a worker, not a director, as far as I know the directors have not started manning the phones.

Some people really do find it difficult to separate fact from fiction. Rangers Football Club is the club we ALL love and support. Rangers Directors are the ones we loathe and despise (well most of them), and most of the large group shareholders. We do not hate or despise people who are working for Rangers, trying to carry out their daily tasks, whilst being bated, harassed, harangued and vilified by 'honest' and 'true' supporters.

Support your club!

2.) Hi Bluebell. Who mentioned angry, irate and hostile? I sent a pleasant email asking if I could buy a new seat. End of. I was surprised tony the tone if response. I am acutely aware this was a staff member and not a director. Neither did I suggest despising or hating anyone. Have a look at your second paragraph again. I have and will support my club as I have for the past 30 plus years, just like everyone else does. My point is that this level of customer service was poor. The main point was that I was was trying to renew my ticket.

Take a breath, relax and if you have a sensible, contextual response, please fire away. One thing which continues to cause a wry smile, is that we fans are all on the same side. We may all vote, live, look, act and believe differently in life, but that should be embraced. I am no more right in my approach than you with yours though so please consider that.

3.) BBRB is your toast burnt this morning

Govan only sent an email

JG

4.) My toast is fine - slightly burnt with a smattering of butter and very very strong coffee.

He either protests or he does not - simples!

What he should not do is withhold his ST monies, and then try to get another seat of someone else, who is REALLY protesting - something stinks, and it is'nae ma burnt toast!

5.) See all later for a bit of Rangers Banter?

Am away to say cheerio to a very good pal - ST holder at Parkhead - will miss him loads.

God Bless.

6.) I think I'll just stop reading this site. Bluebell, READ what I said. Asked about an empty seat. Willing to renew. I assume you can understand but no need to respond. I get you are frustrated but at least respond to the facts you are reading before going off on one. Easy now, we are all on the same side.

7.) OP are you sure you got through to the ticket office because when I was renewing I phoned three times and each time it was an English guy I was talking to and I knew the info he was giving me was wrong and when I asked to talk to a supervisor he said there wasn't one yet when I went up to Ibrox they couldn't have been nicer an confirmed that the query I had was correct.

8.) JYF, thanks for that, that's an interesting point. I'll try going over on Monday. Thanks again :-)

10 May 2014 17:51:19
If, just if, McCoist leaves, who would you have in place? Just your opinions, don't shoot others down if you don't agree. It's very subjective. I'll say Billy Davies. Low starting wage with an increase for promotion, top 2 finish, and so on. Stuart McCall would also be a shrewd bet as the CEO is also moving on and change might be afoot. Great record in last few seasons and brings on youth.

Govan FR_CPL

1.) Not b davis not butcher not macinnes yet stuart macoll with ian murray as assistant would not take fortune in wages

2.) I would go for Derek mcinnes.

3.) Stuart McCall has done an excellent job at Motherwell with limited funds but can't see anyone other than Ally managing us at the start of our Championship campaign.

4.) Heres one stevie clark he would do a job for us.

5.) I would go for Ian Murray, part time team in championship just missed out on play offs, great prospect. Once a Ger always a Ger

6.) Alex Mcleish assisted by Craig Levein.

7.) I had the pleasant surprise of meeting Derek McInnes in the RAH in paisley on wednesday evening as he visited his God parent - he laughed when I suggested he should come take over

8.) Sorry 6 not big Alex for me. I agree with Copland 1 it will be McCoist next year.
Ian Murray has done well in the championship and will take points of us next season. Stuart McCall was a great wee tenacious midfielder for us and has done superbly at Motherwell having to cope with losing half a team every season but still keeping Motherwell in the top 3 on a shoestring.
I think McInnes has done really well at Aberdeen and would do well with us but he has unfinished business in Aberdeen who are currently the only team who can beat Celtic. They are moving to a new stadium soon and he is probably one that got away.
Qwolf Stevie Clark is a great shout from the left field and was apparently highly regarded by Jose Marinho at Chelsea and seemed to do all right for a while at West Brom. But whilst some of us may want change in both the dug-out and in the boardroom I think we will start next season as we were.
But whilst we are suspending disbelief what about Ya Ya Toure's goal from his own half last Wednesday- now that was a thing of beauty IMO

9.) Don't mind Boyd coming back provided its on the right money. Think he has learned a big lesson after leaving the first time. Theory suggests he would score goals in the Championship but as the last few years shows nothing really goes as you would expect. It would be an interesting comparison on the leagues - 22 goals this year. How many would he get in the championship?

10.) For the record I wanted big Tel to lead our rise up to the top.
I thnk I was proven wrong on that one.
But I still do not like what we are playing under Ally hence my not wanting him to continue with the same style! of football.
The posts before all carry the same theme cheap to hire managers to save money but a good astute manger buys and sells well and is worth every penny paid.
With the very good possability of very low seson ticket sales only good footballing displays will encourage fans to go now so the right leadership is essential.
Barrhead Eck never let us down.
Dounebear

11.) Bambi coming back to Rangers just what we need 2 years at Birmingham City 4 goal not exactly setting the heather on fire it's getting to the point we can nearly name a full team from guys that left us guys who refused new contracts at the time.

12.) I hope I'm wrong but we will have McCoist for at least one more season, that's if we have one. If we could get things sorted out, I'd opt for Stuart McCall.

13.) I fear McCoist will be allowed to continue. I think McCall might be the best choice. I wonder if season ticket sales might dictate change?

14.) Billy b as hughie green said I scincerely hope so folks no many on here will have mind hughie green probably think he played for celtic

15.) I'd personally go for Stephen Pressley or, perhaps controversially, John Collins. I reckon both would do a good job and play decent football.

16.) Lbj d, I think he might have been Charles Green's auld man and that's how he learned about ' Double your money. '

17.) Nice on billyb for us more mature in years bears lol do you think monica rose was charlies mum lol

18.) Well done billy b

19.) Tmwnn mind u its no sore is it maybe its the memories

20.) Mcleish with Wilkins or Ferguson and have Jim Jefferies to head a new effective youth set up.

21.) Tmwnn, lbj d and the rest of us auld yins, 'opportunity knocks' is probably more apt.

22.) Billyb I sudgested it was oppertunity knock but she said he done both shows I thought it was yon baldy gut that done double your money his name was micheal miles though I could be wrong lol

23.) Tmwnn, Your baldy man was Michael Miles, I think. cheers.

I said this before the Utd game. The team for next season should be: Bell, McAusland, McCulloch (final season), Gasparotto, Wallace, McKay, Crawford, McLeod, Templeton, Clark and Gallacher. Willing to concede on a couple. Think Wallace is staying which is great but if he left to further his career, he'd do so with my blessing as he owes us nothing. A better centre half in place of Jig would be great, but on 18k, he's going nowhere. Would like to hear what others think of this. Happy bank holiday.

Govan FR_CPL

{Ed039's Note - not on £18k big Jig)

1.) Ed, I'd like to think not but it seems his contract may have been transferred verbatim and with bonuses is on the 18k mark. I'd love to think otherwise.

2.) Legal eagles on here who know everything

3.) Not a legal eagle or even close but it's apparent an open secret in the football world. I'd hope to goodness it's not the case as no one should be on anywhere close but he is club captain and don't forget the gaffer was on that or thereabouts. Regardless, what about the line up bonbon, what would yours be?

4.) Like the sentiment of the young players but Crawford, MacKay, Gasporotto, Gallacher and McAusland have yet to prove they can do it for Rangers in front of 40,000 every week. This is totally different to playing at Ayr or Morton but I would give McAusland a go

My team would be

Bell

McAusland McCulloch Moshni Wallace

MacLeod Black

Law Clark Templeton

Daly

We need to get rid of Foster, Sheils, Cribari, Little, Simonsen, Peralta

Replace these with

Billy MacKay, Kenny MacLean, Kris Boyd, (On right salaries)

Young Players with Potential

Kelly, Telfer, Stoney, MacKay Gasporotto, Aird, Sinammon, Murdoch, Halkett, Hardie, Ramsay.

5.) Like that MOLS. Agree that they haven't shown it. Need to before the bigeague though. Your list of youngsters is encouraging too. Hope we see a few more of them. I think Moshni will get found out though unless he can consistently raise his game. Great post though mate.

6.) Nice to see youth given it's chance yesterday and today. Dunfermline's 9 youngsters were good enough to draw with Ally's elder citizens.
Good to see Heart's blend of a couple of experienced pros with the overwhelming numbers of youngsters coming good after a difficult season.
Couldn't help thinking shouldn't that be us? Are we really talking about Craig Gordon as a back up to Cammy Bell? Are we seriously going to offer 34/ 35 year old Kenny Miller a deal? And are we for one minute thinking about Cribari on £7,000 per week?
Did anyone else read Kevin Kyle say he would have played for a quarter of the money he received and players could not believe the money they were getting to join wee Ally.
Hearts youngsters will be too hot to handle for our old hands on recent evidence.
Others have been responsible for wasting more money than McCoist but we are a football club.
We pay to see the team on the park and that is McCoist's remit.
We should have had a team of youngsters who by now had 2 seasons of playing together with developed systems and tactics and instead we have a rag tag team of mercenary's which Ally will add to this summer.
Chance to redeem ourselves blown and I for one will never look on this undefeated season with any pride whatsoever. Lost opportunity yes but pride definitely not.
The only solace might be Ally finally packing in when we do not win the championship next season.

7.) Greybear, I think you are spot on.

8.) OP. I was at the 4-0 win for the U20 at Falkirk on Friday night. Particularly impressive were Telfer, Halkett but mostly Ramsay. They can all play but have they got the mentality

9.) Greybear. you've hit the nail on the head.

10.) 05 May 2014 10:10:32
Agree Mols, I saw the under 20s a few times this season and there are at least half a dozen players who should have been integrated into the first team whilst in the lower leagues I fear more of the same next season just look at Allys transfer targets I would love his job i'm sure I could do better Ally could be given the pick of the best players in the E P L and not get them to gel clueless. W. A. T. P Bluebear

11.) OP what is your source as to Jigs wage? Please tell me its not a pal down the pub, you really should not be posting things like this at this time unless it is true of course. Are you happy with the information being true?

12.) Came from a person with a fair bit of clout in the football world. Would be delighted to be wrong. My understanding is that this was a continuation of his original contract. Asides from this, there was a far wider point around the team for next year and the youth. Few have picked up on this or offered a thought. And one final point, I develop my own thoughts and don't reply on a guy 'down the pub'. One reason I seldom post anywhere is because some people like to shoot everything down if it isn't a) their opinion, b) they don't agree. No harm but if you know different, tell us. Still waiting for bonbon's team.

13.) Greybear great post at n6 mindreader is the name you be posting under cause you have certainly posted what hundreds or thousends of us are thinking lol

14.) Greybear great post at n6 mindreader is the name you be posting under cause you have certainly posted what hundreds or thousends of us are thinking lol

04 May 2014 11:14:01
We have Cammy Bell and Gallacher as a very worthy back up. We don't need a third keeper, especially an injury prone Craig Gordon. Will we never learn?

Govan FR_CPL

1.) It must be very demoralising for the aspiring youngsters. Warming the bench knowing that in seven days they will be doing the same. Black, foster etc have regular stinkers and are still inked onto the 1st XI list. No faith. No foresight. He's still thinking that there is a transfer budget- prepare for the worst Coisty.

2.) @ 1 prepare for the worst bears- Coisty doing more of the same next season

3.) Are we signing Gordon?

4.) It seems to be coming out of Ally's office that he's keen to offer a deal. Gallacher looked great when he played, didn't let us down and looked very good.

5.) Craig Gordon would be a big name to please the fans. Sell Season Books

6.) Who has info to ally's office? Craig Gordon sell season ticktets are we being serious?

7.) Injury record poor, not the big name to get excited about. Bell and Gallacher are more than capable. Gordon would be another passenger we don't need and can't afford.

8.) N5 who in there right mind would buy a season book to see a guy sitting on the bench we don't need any more keepers but maybe he struck up a friendship with ally jobs for the mates again

9.) In 4 years how many 1st team minutes has the guy played?

10.) More of the same we must remember why mccoist won't drop players he learned the manager stuff fae mr smith and though I admire what mr smith done for rfc it was his failure to rotate team that cost us 10 in a row imo

Not what I hear. If Hibs don't go up this year either as Champs or via the play off, they'll have some real financial issues. That's coming from someone close to the situation. I couldn't care less though and if we can get Allan for c800k then great. Really don't see that happening though. Petrie hates the old firm and selling to his major rival for this season may be seen as folly on his part by his own supporters.

My guess is 800k is nowhere near enough. Hibs are on shaky financial ground and need to go up. To sell to either of the old firm would not happen. Petrie hates both. He'll demand an unrealistic £2m or so from is as he'll see the risk of weakening his team and their chances. I'd be happy at 800k but that won't be the deal to sell to Rangers.
