Seeing across most media sites that McKenna deal to us could be a goer. I would definitely up for this and use Soutar as part of deal to bring Shankland what you think?

And how do you just "use" souttar as part of the deal? Wages would be less for him for a start at hearts. He would actually need to want to go. Love this thought that it's as simple as saying to souttar and hearts "you will take this deal and you will like it"

Robbo what if souttar doesn’t want to go to hearts?

Couple of issues there. We need as many Scots in our squad as possible as by the summer it’s likely Jack, Scott Wright and Robbie McCrorie will all be away. So even if we bring in McKenna and maybe Connor Barron as is being suggested it wouldn’t be the best idea to let Soutar go. Also as has been mentioned it’s not very likely that 1) Soutar will want to go back to Hearts, not just because he has more chance of winning trophies and playing in Europe with us but also because he’d have to vastly drop his wages and 2) it’s not likely Hearts would want Soutar when they don’t need a CB and the wages they would have to try to offer would be way more than any other player they have is on.
Unfortunately this isn’t champ manager where we can just suggest throwing in a player we may not want to try to pay less money. Transfers are very complicated matters as they are, trying to arrange one involving a player swap is even more complicated and hardly ever really happens that much anymore.

Big Soutar has a coffee shop for extra income so he won't mind the massive drop in his wages from around 10k back to 1.5k.

can anyone tell me if mckenna is much better than soutter, who us a rangers supporter, i know mckenna isn't, so i'm hoping he's a big step up from soutter. it's a genuine question because i don't know,

Personally tt I don't want Mckenna, I believe we can get better.

TT, in my opinion McKenna would be our starting LCB, a position I never think Souttar looks comfortable in.

I think Souttar will stay as back up RCB.

Tom, Soutter is no use to use with his constant injuries. Rangers are in with a shout signing McKenna as Celtic aren't interested in signing him.

Just my take tom but being a supporter is not as Important as actually being up for the task. souttar has an Injury history so wouldn't be sad to see him go . But he won't be joining Hearts imo as that's a massive step back for the lad. I would prefer if wright was a goner personally as he brings zilch to my table. cheers.

I don't think McKenna is any better than anyone we have, happy for him to go to Celtic.

06 Jan 2024 14:01:46
He’s not Tom, not half the player that souttar is - but he’s left sided. That’s they only thing he has over souttar. He might bring a bit more balance to the team.

Hopefully he has improved since his Aberdeen days when Celtic used to tear him and considine apart every time they played.

Gers why do we need as many Scot’s as possible.

degree, i know being a rangers fan isn't necessarily a good thing, but its certainly not a bad thing, i only said soutter is a rangers man and mckenna isn't, and was ge much better than soutter, i don't know, but some people do. cheers for the replies guys.

Good post deecee doesn’t matter who anyone use to support these days it’s 2024 not the 80s.
I think souttar would have a big problem if he would lose 5 grand a week no matter if he has a coffee shop or not ?‍♂️.

I would prefer better than McKenna but he would be starting LCB and I would say he is bette Ethan souttar. As we seen at the start of the year souttar can’t play LCB a caught out constantly.
Just my opinion.

To give us a bit of identity John, not something we need but something I would definitely welcome, feel we haven't been as successful as a club without it.

16.) 06 Jan 2024
06 Jan 2024 15:05:02
Zikos does that mean we need rid of our defenders because Celtic tear us the majority of the last how many years.

Cool boy blue, rangers I wrote in the summer have I’d mult Players who meet the Scottish academy trained model.
On that list are McKenna Barron doig Campbell who we allegedly rate.

Rangers grown included Kelly, Motherwell Hardie

At ibrox we have Mccrorie wright mcausland from next season

Add Cole McKinnon who pc has now moved to first team squad, Devine king,
Also end of next season, yefeko Lovelace stevens will have been three years in our academy, so we r slowly making progress. Others include rice and ishaka.
Gerrard vision was all 8 Scottish academy selection would come through rangers academy saving need to buy from spfl unless exceptional talent.

like i say, don't need to be a rangers fan, but it helps,

I personally think Souttar is better than McKenna. The only two positives are left foot and doesn't have the injury history.

In all honesty, I think Souttar is better than Goldson. I'd have Souttar at right centre back in a starting 11.

20.) 06 Jan 2024
06 Jan 2024 16:16:16
We keep saying get rid of souttar as he's injury prone which is true so why would someone other team want him with his injury record then?

Cheers for info John, definitely making progress there then mate.

Gdog i agree. I would keep Souttar 100% as one of the 4 CBs comfortably.

Googling I agree Souttar .
