People slagging using assist the assist to show what kent does for the team is just refusing to look at the bigger picture and can only base opinions on stats. Let’s look at the Motherwell game last week. 2-2 Kent picks up the ball at the centre circle drives forward slides in Sakala to square it and we score. The next goal kent picks up the ball 30 yards out beats a man and plays a perfect reverse pass to Morelos who cuts it back to Tillman and we score. Nobody else in our team does that especially the second one. No goals and assists for kent but he’s the one who made both goals. That’s what I mean with assisting the assist.

Again you're spot on Davieb, without Kent's creativity neither goals happen. Kent is vital to how we play and a key player for our team. Beale is desperate to keep Kent. Its easy to see why.

Tav gets plenty of pre assist in our team. Even Ryan Jack gets his fair share no just Ryan Kent. Agree with you tho they talk about Man City players pre assist on match of the day a lot. It’s part of the game even if it goes under the radar .

Why does goldson not get as much credit then? The amount of long balls he plays to tav and borna to assist the assister is probably more than kent. His 5% scoring conversion rate is extremely poor. If he wants to be a top player this needs to improve dramatically. A forward player shouldn't be outscored by centre halfs etc.

But the most important stats - assists and goals are poor for a supposedly very talented forward player in Scotland playing for the top team.

And yet some people think he will stroll it in the EPL?
I’ve said it before, if he could replicate the Dortmund away performance on a regular basis he would be exceptional.
As it stands he’s getting out scored by Sakala!

Duk wouldn`t be a replacement for Kent as he plays a different role . In the current Rangers set up he is more like a replacement for Sakala as a second striker. We should always be wary of signing guys who have had one good season in the SPFL, they rarely follow it up. There have been a number of players over the years that we have been linked with then in the next season, you think thank god we never signed him. Duk in, Matondo out, might be okay though.

Duk from Aberdeen has shown he can score free kicks take players on out run players down the wing link up play is very good and can thread balls through for assists

Nah think we should stick with Wilson and go with what players he can get - look how much we got Kent for an absolute bargain
Duk plays with inferior players perhaps he could do better with better players around him? Just like kent does
Plus the fact been reported lately 2 Italian clubs Looking at Duk for possible transfer fee in summer
we have kent available on a free so maybe they will just got for him instead of having to buy and pay out money for an inferior player from Aberdeen?
What would they rather have a 7 million pound talentted player in kent for free or a 500k player like Duk they will have to spend over the odds on a transfer fee to Aberdeen for?
I’m sure Wilson could answer this question easily ?.

Stigno duk would be a great signing for us, but i think he leave for a better league in the summer, been really impressed anytime i ever seen him play.

Kent - first half against Motherwell. 3 versus 3 and Kent passed the ball to a Motherwell player. Even Super Ally said it was criminal.
5 minutes later and Kent gives the ball away again as Rangers break. Super Ally again said he should have done better.
Don’t let your Unconscious Bias stop you looking at Kent objectively.

If Kent was as good as he perceives himself to be - he should be running riot against the bottom half of our league and am afraid that does not happen.
He has had more bang average games than standouts and am sure he could be replaced for less cash - I feel his time is run at club and it would be a backward step in a football sense to resign him - the only benefit in a resigning would be that we MAY get some cash back on him at some point ( as I feel 7mill is lots to lose) but either him or Morelos are worth no more wages than they are currently on - TIME FOR CHANGE GUYS - let's NOT STAGNATE.

He’s a centre half he should concentrate on trying to defend well.
That’s more important for me.
Will you be mentioning his assists if he is to blame again in the upcoming fixtures with them.

I would like our defensive line to be tough and to do the basics right and be switched on.

MPH there is no point as kent has brainwashed some fans for whatever reason I have no idea maybe it’s his one good game every 20, I don’t know. But I can see the bigger picture and no assists of assist will never be a thing.
It’s actually getting embarrassing all the things getting put in here to try and make kent look and sound better than what he is producing.

My issue has always been his inconsistency.
And yet some proclaim him the second coming of Messi even though his numbers are poor.

SWS - we will only miss any player if he does not get replaced by similar or better - therefore we cannot stand still or worry about any losses as better than RK have moved on in the past and the club has progressed. I am behind players who want to play for our great club and contribute ON A REGULAR BASIS but I feel the boy is a luxury that doesn't always bring the goods to the table. Being critical of someone who has all the attributes but doesn't show regularly in my eyes is not a witch hunt - just saying as things are seen - just as many on this site can see from his overall performances.
My crystal ball does not tell me where we will be if he leaves but am fairly certain that the club will move change and hopefully get better recruitment in - I for one don't want to be held to ransom by those in our club who's demands in my eyes far outweigh the return we are getting. Other clubs have brought in good players who have enhanced their teams for a lot less than the outlay we dished for RK. Players are out there -its up to our recruitment team to find the hidden gems.

Don’t rate Kent never have and wouldn’t have spent £4m on him never mind £7m it’s absurd how poor his end product is and his lack of knowing what to do and when even though he’s being tought it day in day out is ridiculous. Not a patch on players like Neil McCann lovenkrands etc…. Kent wouldn’t even play for bottom of premier league. He’s rotten. Never rangers player …. Wouldn’t even get on celtics bench. Quicker he’s away the better n we can sign a quality replacement.

In my honest opinion kent hasn’t earned a new deal on higher salary aye he is a decent player for us, if he signs on with us it should be on similar wage with maybe more in bonus if he starts to find the net more.
