The league's not over there are still four games left to play.
But when you can't win the first of the "must-win" games, it's hard to take any real confidence into the next one.
Hearts put in a title-winning performance today, coming from 1β0 down to win and grind out a hard-fought three points.
You can see that Derek McInnes has them well-drilled, organised, and fully fired up.
EHL, Just out of curiosity how much do think Hearts have spent this year?
And what's your overall opinion on McInnes?
Walter always had high expectations for him, and I've said multiple times on here that with the right backing, McInnes would show how capable he is as a manager in this league. He knows it inside out.
I'd actually be pleased for him if he went on to win the title with Hearts. I'd much rather see them win it than Celtic, and I'd congratulate them if they did.
As for us, I don't think we'll beat Celtic and based on how Hearts are playing, I can't see us beating them either.
For me, Hearts deserve it. They keep finding a way where we haven't.
Am I giving up? Maybe not just yet but I can't see us winning all four remaining games.
And maybe that says everything about how I really feel right now.

I'd be happy with McCinnes as next manager. As well as be happy with Gerrard, or Lampard.
26 Apr 2026 21:04:14
Lampard, who is about to manage in the Premiership - that Lampard? He ain't coming up here now.
26 Apr 2026 21:09:47
Agreed, Stig. Champions find a way to win games.
Losing at home to Motherwell in the first of our 'must win' games is a real tough one to take.
P*ss poor first half again. Inexcusable.
Hearts will drop points, but can we win all 4?
P.s. Where the heck is Antman?
P.ps. Anyone else think we've seen the last of Skov?
26 Apr 2026 22:09:18
I really like McInnes, he's very old school in that he's very much a manager and leaves a lot more of the coaching to his coaching team.
Honestly, I have no idea how much Hearts have spent, but one thing I know is they are acutely aware of the importance of having a spine of homegrown talent throughout the squad.
There was a concern that they'd flood the squad with players from across the globe, but they've realised what's needed for our league and are committed to balancing the squad.
26 Apr 2026 21:45:12
dont lose faith in Rohl even if we don't win still deserves a crack at next season don't forget how bad we were before he arrived ad the fact he's dealing with a lot of previous fail signings.
27 Apr 2026 09:02:09
EHL, firstly, would you want Derek McInnes as Rangers manager if things didn't work out at Rangers for Danny Rohl? And, secondly, do you think McInnes would leave Hearts to come to Rangers, if we did come calling? π€
27 Apr 2026 13:43:13
Sir Walter, please don't start with all this again. Why do you need someone to tell you what you already think? Rohl isn't going anywhere, so it's a mute discussion already.
26 Apr 2026 19:38:11
Here's my view, every game has been must win since DR came to the club, the reality is that's simply not sustainable and the harsh reality is we've simply not been good enough over the season. The damage was done under Martin, DR has won a fair amount of games but to expect 3 points game in and game out simply can't happen.
There's a lot about today which is frustrating, out played and over ran all of the first half.
It's another epic failure which we can't afford to do again next year, we're on course ti finish 3rd in a two horse race to the worst Celtic team in the last 30 years.

26 Apr 2026 20:00:46
You are forgetting the dropped points Celtic had under Nancy.
And yet they now find themselves in a better position than us.
26 Apr 2026 20:09:57
Rohl cost us at Livi, Motherwell away, Motherwell at home with tinkering and baffling subs, etc mate. He has done well to get us in the title race, but when the going gets tough, or players crawl into their shell, they bottle it year after year.
At least I won't see many posts about Shakhtar and Olympicos and how they are doing.
Today was the reason I wasn't interested in what those clubs are doing, as it's completely irrelevant if we don't win the league. Called it ages ago, shades of Clements 1st season.
26 Apr 2026 20:25:46
Honestly, Mr P, I'm not forgetting, mate, my point is still it's not possible for DR to win every game, as an expectation this is unrealistic.
This is what we do. We're renowned as serious bed wetters who don't honestly have the fight or ambition to win. Hopefully, DR can change this next season.
26 Apr 2026 21:07:15
Rohl hasn't had that much room for error thanks to Martins start, so some slack can be cut his way but not completely. For me, the players just aren't good enough. 15 goals conceded in the last 8 games won't win you leagues, and whilst I'm not defending Souttar, he has had grief for some performances, yet Sterling, Djiga and Fernandes get off scott free.
The defence is rotten, and we have too many empty jerseys too often from middle to front. Worst Celtic team in 20 years, and they are still above us.
26 Apr 2026 21:16:51
He will not because we don't buy those types of players anymore.
26 Apr 2026 21:46:53
Sorry, but since Rohl arrived, is he not still the highest point scoring manager?
At very least, that deserves a crack at next season, no matter how this one pans out.
26 Apr 2026 21:54:39
Correct Dado. The recruitment team needs to focus on mentality as much as technical ability this summer.
Glasgow Rangers has never, ever been known historically as a team of mental midgets. Quite the opposite.
Over the last few years, we've had far too many bottlers and it's cost us dearly.
No more delicate wee flowers please. You come to Rangers, you must be ready to put major effort in.
26 Apr 2026 19:03:00
Bad decisions from start to finish.
Starting line up poor
Tactics poor
Subs/timing of subs poor
The substitution at the end was so negative and if anything invited pressure
No need for Barron to come on, Aasgaard was still getting in goal scoring positions, the change should have been Gassama for Antman.

26 Apr 2026 19:40:29
Losing 2 goals to Falkirk and then 3 to Motherwell just shows our naivety at defending and running with players from midfield, also the fact that we must be one of the slowest starting teams in the league - Maeda presses constantly to win the ball back and we have multiple prima donnas who stroll round pitch like they own it - we get beaten by teams who show hard work and lots of endeavour - something we severely lack but can show it in odd flashes - this lies with management and also not having a leader on the park - wee Barron gets slagged by some on this site but had he started the tempo would have been up and am sure we could have seen a different outcome as his workrate can be infectious - would rather have one of him than 10 Gassamas or Aasgaards - imho.
Another kick in the guts for us long suffering supporters. π₯Ί
26 Apr 2026 19:53:47
Not once this season have I jumped on the (Rohl is our saviour) bandwagon, even after our 3 1 win over Celtic or our 4 2 win over Hearts, although I loved the results. We have too many poor players.
I honestly don't think Rohl is our long term manager. There have been too many really poor displays, too many slow starts to games. I wouldn't give him an open cheque book this summer.
26 Apr 2026 20:20:48
Wasn't a pop at Barron, just think using your last sub chasing the win to bring on a more defensive/retaining midfielder was so negative.
Gassama should have been taken off for fresh legs as soon as we got our 2nd goal.
Twice now, poor decision making has cost us against Motherwell.
26 Apr 2026 20:21:25
Yes Blue, agree with a lot of your points, the midfield has been wrong all season, not enough bodies in there, bad choices today playing Aasgaard and Gassama from the start. I'm not a big fan of Dio, but him and Raskn know each other, and wee Barron in there gives us a lot more energy.
The first half is all on Dr, and I'm having serious doubts that we can win this league.
26 Apr 2026 20:53:51
Not a dig at you, 5watp5 - agree re Barron substitution when we needed goals but when the wee man starts he gives us energy which was obviously lacking today - you get out a game what you put in, and in the first half we put in zippeedeedoodah - obvious after 10mins that energy and effort was not there - sad that we have come to this stage then π© the nest at home when a stellar display was required - a draw at worst against Jambos and we are done for.
πππ Worst thing is teams don't really need to be super skilful to beat us or put us under pressure, they just need to work hard and shut us down - all the things we seemingly can't or won't do. π€
26 Apr 2026 21:16:44
Agreed. Where is Antman? He was on the bench, but Rohl didn't bring him on?
There's something else going on with him imo.
26 Apr 2026 21:32:58
The Barron sub bemused me, surely, if you were going to bring a third midfielder on you'd have done that in the first half to combat their three. Gassama should have been hooked at half time. Antman or Skov Olsen should have been on. To me, Skov Olsen should have started, as he tracks back more than any winger we've got.
26 Apr 2026 21:49:05
I've been defending Rohl but can't disagree with that assessment. Rohl was far too conservative today. Think he played to the gallery with two up front too.
I like two up front, but when you're playing the best football team in the league you need the extra man in middle, especially when carrying Aasgaard and Gassama Miovski.
26 Apr 2026 22:13:41
5watp5
Totally agree, mate. Was confused when the change came. If anything, I thought Raskin off for Barron and Antman on for Gassama.
Danny got it wrong today and we were out-thought and out-played.
Our 2nd half was far better but the worry is how easy we are taken apart in defence.
26 Apr 2026 18:37:43
Well troops unfortunately our game v Hearts is a must win. Hearts beat us and we're out the title race.

26 Apr 2026 18:52:32
The split fixtures were all must wins right to the end, unfortunately, we fell at the first hurdle. Nobody will do us favours. Celtic and Hearts keep winning.
26 Apr 2026 19:12:02
If we beat Hearts and don't beat Celtic, we will have handed the league to Celtic.
26 Apr 2026 19:18:08
Jzeer, I'm just stating a fact.
26 Apr 2026 19:18:15
It always was a must win.
26 Apr 2026 18:37:21
I'm at a loss for an explanation regarding that performance. A week away warm weather training, nice break for the lads and great time for team bonding and also to work on game plans, individual and collective tactics. Ideal scenario going into a huge game.
Ibrox bouncing and lovely weather for football. And then that happened.
The goals we shipped were so so poor. Seemed like the lot of them were still on holiday.
I just didn't see a team going for a title. The only positive is that, no medals are given out today. And also Clancy getting sconed on the dome with the ball at least made me smile π΅β½οΈ
And as sore as that was today it's not over lads. That's the one blip we can afford. But winning the league just became even harder. And the question is have we got the minerals for the fight?
Agree8

26 Apr 2026 18:54:11
Has the warm weather idea actually ever worked for us?
26 Apr 2026 18:58:08
Arcade, I agree, but we rarely "ship" a good goal against anyone, they are all usually howlers. Whatever happens now, we need to see defenders who can defend next season! (Be just like us now to win against them and hearts, that's how ridiculous we are at times.)
26 Apr 2026 19:02:28
Pretty simple, Penny, the players were still on holiday. If the head coach can't get it into these players' heads what's at stake, then that's on him.
Inexperience from Rohl, in my opinion. We should have been fired up right from the first whistle.
Too many players stealing a wage. We looked like a 3rd place team today, and that's how I think it will finish.
Sickened with that today, and that type of performance has been regular from us. We can never play for a full 90 minutes, it's just not good enough.
26 Apr 2026 19:22:27
Not once, Kaiser.
26 Apr 2026 19:23:26
One thing for me today is plainly obvious that Djiga is worth nowhere near the cash that he is being touted for - that's one player I don't want for next season- just another ball watching defender. π€
26 Apr 2026 18:35:29
I went for my 1st run in 67/ years after watching that shower of bottle merchants. 5.5km managed. So I would calm down a bit but am still ragin.
Warm weather training has never worked for us club might learn at some point different people same mistakes.
Starting 11 by our manager wrong again.
2 up top obviously doesn't work.
Left 2 in centre and Motherwell run us ragged it was embarrassing at times how easy it was.
Miovski is a sub at best.
Gassama is never a starter either I don't know how he stayed on.
Chermiti missed two great chances again as did others.he was brutal 1st half bit better 2nd half funnily enough when he was up top alone and some said he couldn't play up there on his own.
To get back in the game and go for the win and bring Barron on for an attacking player is mind blowing and his terrible cross led to Motherwell winner.
Came back to loads of messages from Motherwell fans π€¦ββοΈ it's gutting as we made them look like prime Barca. The other day people said not worried about Motherwell as they haven't beaten us this season well they have now.
I also said a while back this had shades of when clement came in got us back in race and we bottled it unfortunately looks like it's coming true.
I don't think that team can win 4 games in a row and it's now not in our hands because 4 wins doesn't guarantee the league title π€¦ββοΈ
I cannot feel my legs anyone up for giving me a cuddle and a massage? π₯΄

Great post, Storm - bang on in every word.
26 Apr 2026 18:48:08
Never learned our lesson from the Falkirk game. Team is so wide open, no control because we have no midfield. Must we constantly play with wide men that don't create anything? Control the midfield, you control the tempo of the game and create from within.
Looks like we're going to lose more goals than actually score in the last four games.
After all, I think we are only a 60 minute team if we're lucky.
26 Apr 2026 18:51:39
Not long back from Ibrox myself, Storm, and absolutely fuming by our first half performance especially. Motherwell played Rangers off the park in the first half, but having said that we afforded them far too much room in the midfield to do that. π‘ It's shocking a club our size relies so heavily on our young Spurs loanee Mikey Moore because let's be brunt, he's by far our most creative player and the young man has a great career ahead of him.
π€ Far too slow in our build up especially in the first half and continue this trend of giving teams 2 goals of a start which is a habit that will eventually bite you. π‘ Well today it did bite us bad and severely dented our title hopes. βΉοΈ
26 Apr 2026 18:58:46
As much as I love you, Storm, it's a no from me.
26 Apr 2026 19:03:32
Would have been as well taking them down to Gullane.
26 Apr 2026 19:11:32
Said for a long time, the strongest Rangers side has Dio in it.
26 Apr 2026 19:18:10
SWS Moore missed an open goal, if that was Olsen there'd be a meltdown on here.
26 Apr 2026 19:30:58
I'm sure my star will give you a cuddle.
26 Apr 2026 19:56:42
Motherwell just looked so well organised to a man. Waiting for us to press, breaking our press constantly, then a couple of short, sharp passes, get it wide and deliver early, so simple but very effective.
26 Apr 2026 20:05:11
Flb, I would rather pass on that one. G4, it was a great block by Motherwell defender. Moore, in 2nd half, was trying to make things happen. He done more and put more effort in one half than Gassama done the full game.
Parlane, no even a wee cuddle? π€
26 Apr 2026 20:06:20
I did forget to add to op that Moore should have 100% started the game. Can't believe he picked Gassama and Assgaard before him.
26 Apr 2026 20:07:36
Since we dropped points to 10 men Motherwell, we are the only top 6 side that has failed to take points from them.
Our title rivals best them 3-1.
Falkirk best them 3-1.
Hibs drew with them.
Even Dundee best them recently.
26 Apr 2026 20:10:45
You can't say all that. Aphe will say it was a close game.
26 Apr 2026 18:29:19
how many times have we read this statement. We were so poor in the "first half"? . thanks to Dr for at least giving us hope but sorry to say that titles are earned and being outcoached again is not what we need going forward.
how does he not see that Gassama is a liability. except when we go in front and his head goes up. for me he is a last 20 minute sub at best. shout out out to an 18 year old showing him how to play like a winger.

26 Apr 2026 18:43:37
Laissez-faire first half, took our defensive back line far too long to switch on. Little or no press across the whole game from what I could see. Navy decision making favoured Motherwell on too many occasions. The drop ball to their keeper towards the end just sums up his officiating.
26 Apr 2026 18:58:59
Moore was different class when he came on, 18 years of age, and knows what it means to be here to play for Rangers. Gassama is rotten; how he lasted 90 mins is beyond me.
26 Apr 2026 19:00:51
Deecee, cannot remember how many years it is since we started a game well, no matter who the manager was!
26 Apr 2026 19:32:18
Let's not look for excuses, Jasp, we were beaten by the better team.
