When was the last season where neither of the OF won a major trophy? This could be the season.

It's not going to happen this season either mate. The Scottish Cup is ours. 😜.
14 Dec 2025 18:21:11
have to get past Annan first lol. QP still fresh in my mind.
14 Dec 2025 16:14:22
Stevie G is the young winger that you mentioned called Mikel Gogorza?
The youngster is an unbelievable talent and I would say that it would be now or never in terms of signing him.
I believe he will play for a real top side in the future.

14 Dec 2025 18:53:54
I couldn't remember you're name to ask u mate but it was aimed at you.
I'm not sure if that's the name, I know he's too on goals and also goal contributions in that league.
Seen a piece saying he could be a Barcelona player in the making on a Barcelona site I am on. Think they mean in 2/3/4 years time.
Valued €10m so is achievable.
14 Dec 2025 19:17:32
Stevie i honestly think that he has a higher ceiling than Roony Bardghji so it may not be that distant in the future.
Roony left FC Köbenhavn þó Barcelona and has already played 9 times.
14 Dec 2025 19:54:12
Perhaps aphe he's already out of our reach then mate
We'll worth looking at though.
14 Dec 2025 20:02:34
He may well be but who knows a bid in January might sway it although i don't know if he would rather stay and with the superliga.
14 Dec 2025 21:41:33
If he's as good as u and I think mate he'd be best staying there tik summer and moving to a better standard league.
14 Dec 2025 15:23:56
What's people on hibs game? For some strange reason I'm very confiden.
2-0.

14 Dec 2025 15:28:01
I think a dangerous 1-0 BB4, it is difficult as I am not confident in our defence not conceding but not confident that we have a striker to score in a tight match.
14 Dec 2025 15:39:38
2 very good points you make mate, totally with you on both, so i'm not sure where my confidence is coming from, just a feeling I have.
14 Dec 2025 15:50:10
I hope your confidence is a sign the better times are coming soon.
14 Dec 2025 15:58:20
A must win game.
14 Dec 2025 16:07:27
I'm not confident at all BB4. Our defence is an absolute shambles and must be sorted ASAP in January. 🫡.
14 Dec 2025 16:32:14
Florida I'm never usually confident mate, as i totally get how poor we are, still believe it's worst team in my lifetime, apart from when down the league's. Just a feeling I have mate, look forward to getting shot down tomorrow.
Hopefully Aphelion 🙏
Mark 100% must win mate.
14 Dec 2025 16:47:25
I'm in the BoyBlue camp.
I'm somehow more confident against teams who will open up and have a go.
And Hibs will fancy there chances.
14 Dec 2025 17:38:02
I'm not confident at all.
Would like to see Curtis and Moore gat a start, Sterling also if fit enough.
Take any kind of win.
14 Dec 2025 17:41:23
Draw i think.
14 Dec 2025 18:29:48
Rosevale totally agree re Curtis/moore mate.
14 Dec 2025 18:44:54
Curtis and Moore start and hopefully Miovski tho I know he came off injured the other night.
14 Dec 2025 19:05:23
With our current defensive options I'm never confident.
14 Dec 2025 19:16:31
At this time of year any win will do me fine. I'm thinking 2-1, slightly nervous ending but we do enough to keep Rohling on. January window will decide how the season turns out, but we need to keep winning until then to stay in contention. Keep believing fellow bears.
14 Dec 2025 20:51:39
We need 3 points Tommorow, can see Celtic dropping points against Utd.
15 Dec 2025 09:08:54
This could have been the season we won the League and it's disappointing to be speaking like this. Sort the defence out in January and we still have a chance.
14 Dec 2025 15:14:33
Jose enamarado anyone?
Colombian, 26 yo. Left winger.

Looks a cracking player and the type we could turn a hefty profit on?

14 Dec 2025 16:16:12
We've not had much luck with Colombian's Stevie or any South American's for that matter. Just recently one hated our climate. Not a market we should be looking at in my opinion.
14 Dec 2025 17:25:57
I blame climate change, wee cannigia and amato did alright but it was sunnier back then, karen Jardel also produced the goods, more recently Alfie did a job.
Don't think we should take cifu and Cortez signings as ammo not to buy South Americans, they were just poor signings, bad signings can be bought fae anywhere.
14 Dec 2025 17:49:05
Correct Shota we should be looking to sign the best talent we can from every corner of the world.
14 Dec 2025 18:12:52
I was in argentina and Uruguay last October and it was freezing.
14 Dec 2025 18:21:05
We've not had much luck with Colombians? We've had two, Morelos was a massive success and Cortes a failure that's a 50% success rate.
14 Dec 2025 18:22:41
I forgot about Cannigia Shota, what a player he was.
14 Dec 2025 18:45:50
You forget a lot of things CL 🤯.
14 Dec 2025 19:21:59
You sound like a women I used to date stromtrooper 😅.
14 Dec 2025 20:10:08
We've done pretty well with South Americans.
14 Dec 2025 14:34:40

14 Dec 2025 15:32:51
Didn't want to play for us again same with sima.
14 Dec 2025 15:47:22
Eldei not sure if he's been injured over there or what, he's not played many games. I wouldn't go back the way for many players but guys like cerny are a no brainer for me personally. Wouldn't go back the way for someone that was mediocre, cerny certainly wasn't. I don't think it'll happen though tbh.
14 Dec 2025 15:47:32
& Amad and Tillman.
14 Dec 2025 16:51:10
Karlsson who is currently on loan at Aberdeen? He seems more confident by the game and clearly becoming acclimatized… price being right, as I assume Aberdeen will not be paying to sign him?
14 Dec 2025 18:22:49
Sima wanted to play for a C. L club, if we had qualified he would have been happy sign for us and we would probably been able to afford him.
14 Dec 2025 18:46:31
Wsl sima wasn't ever going to stay with us.
14 Dec 2025 12:03:36
Anyone hearing anything about Lyndn Dykes being a possibility on loan in Jan?
Seemingly he is keen on a move to help him stay in the Scotland squad for World Cup.
Would he improve the striking options? Not sure but if we are to get rid of Chermiti and Danilo we will need replacements and could be difficult to find in Jan.
I'll be honest, no reliable source hence the above question.

14 Dec 2025 12:11:01
Where did you see that Hoth 🤔 regarding the lyndon dykes interest 🤔.
14 Dec 2025 12:56:00
I think Aphelion is Asa.
14 Dec 2025 13:34:49
Id take him right now.
14 Dec 2025 13:37:15
Dykes I've seen auld yins in Asda faster.
14 Dec 2025 13:45:46
Dykes is worse than what we have. Would be a pointless signing.
14 Dec 2025 13:58:01
Why can't people forget about Asa and just let Apheluon get on with posting.
Fresh start for everyone.
14 Dec 2025 14:09:22
Not a bad target man but would need someone playing off him, puts himself about.
14 Dec 2025 14:46:26
Not for me although at least you would get 100% from him and I would fancy him to outscore Chermiti.
14 Dec 2025 14:49:45
Bojan is injured.
14 Dec 2025 15:18:12
Lyndon dykes about 13 goals in last 3 years, surely this is a wind up? We need a natural goalscorer, not another 1 to add to the ones we have that can't.
14 Dec 2025 15:37:16
Never been keen in the idead of dykes anytime he's been linked, and now seeing his goal tally last 3 yrs, even less keen.
14 Dec 2025 17:04:33
No thanks, 5 years ago as a back maybe. Much better options.
14 Dec 2025 17:40:46
If we are targeting that type of front man then why not go for the big striker at St Mirren.
14 Dec 2025 18:47:26
Correct jfm who cares who the guy is.
Dykes is a hell no. He didn't score goals.
14 Dec 2025 19:31:48
Too slow, blame all those tats.
14 Dec 2025 20:11:25
Even some of you thinking that's the calibre we need is a worry.
14 Dec 2025 10:20:07

14 Dec 2025 12:16:09
Danny Rohl said last week that he's hopeful big soapy will be back towards the end of december 🤔.
14 Dec 2025 12:29:51
With the news that a new offer is on the table for Souttar I imagine he can't be far away from a return.
14 Dec 2025 13:10:08
Cheers sir Walter, prytz.
14 Dec 2025 13:58:24
Is he possibly going to let him recover in time for old firm game instead of risk him too soon.
14 Dec 2025 16:06:05
I'd be very surprised we see Souttar in old firm game, he's not back in training yet
He will certainly not rush back and risk getting injured, he has a World Cup to be fit for.
14 Dec 2025 20:12:16
WC which is next summer John. I think a tad early for that no?
14 Dec 2025 21:50:08
Fair comment John.
14 Dec 2025 09:10:57
@John
Seen your post regarding Rothwell possibly departing in January, and the suggestion that we might be able to sell Gassama as well. That tells us a lot about what the manager is thinking and to be honest, I'm in total agreement on both. If we manage to move them on, I'd be very happy.
I've said before that in January, if we can add one or two centre-backs, a defensive midfielder, and a new striker, it would go a long way towards strengthening the spine of the team. However, I'd also like to add a goalkeeper to that list. I'd really like to see us go out and sign a top-quality keeper.
For me, Butland is past his best, and Kelly isn't the answer either. So when you look at the spine of the team, it should be a spine we can depend on
GK -New
CB - new
CB - new
DMF - new
Striker - new
And if we could add a winger on top of that, even better.
It's a lot to ask for in January, so we'll see what happens and who we can move on, etc. But for once, I feel the club's vision is starting to align with the fans' vision. We need better, we recruited poorly in the last window, and it looks like they're now actively trying to rectify that over January and into next summer.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I believe that by next season we'll have a squad good enough to clean sweep domestically.
Pin this post and laugh if I'm wrong, but I genuinely think we'll be a real force at the start of next season.

14 Dec 2025 10:22:26
I agree Stig if the board have learned as we hope they have then there's a lot to be positive about in the future once we are able to sell off the current players we need rid of.
14 Dec 2025 11:11:59
Tjark Ernst
Joseph Okumu
Marton Dardai
Jens Hjertø-Dahl
Rafiu Durosinmi
Add in potentially
Mohammed Daramy
Edvin Austbø
Harry Milne
I think all would be achievable and covers all the bases you asked for.
There is also the potential for Bosman deals for example
Denys Popov
Shaparenko
Jónas Wind
Yari Verschaeran.
14 Dec 2025 11:34:33
I don't have Knowledge of the players you mention Aphelion
However it would be interesting to know if the club are aware of the players you mention and if any scouting has been conducted or feelers put out to see if the players had interest coming to Glasgow.
14 Dec 2025 11:49:38
Don't think we will. be able to buy the quality needed in the jan window and by the 1st we should know if we are in the mix if we are great but if not i'd rather we wait until the summer rather than paying over the odds but I hope we can at least sign 1 or 2 ooc players to start the 1st day of pre season.
14 Dec 2025 12:06:57
Stig, I would agree with 1 exception, DMF - I'd look for a new LB instead. Perhaps Santa might arrange a few late Christmas pressies!
14 Dec 2025 12:36:42
I recall we were said to be interested in Xavier Mbuyamba from Volendam in summer. He has no intentions of extending his deal there. Potential business to bring him in early as a CH in January perhaps?
14 Dec 2025 13:22:12
Aphelion seems to know players from Norway etc?
Interesting.
14 Dec 2025 13:38:34
The difficulty in assessing the 'required quality' of player for Rangers, is that unless they have played in our league before (or currently doing so), there will be an element of gamble. Some of the recruits that have not panned out, like Rothwell and Aasgaard (currently) both came with good reputation, playing at a level generally considered to be at least on a par with the SPL.
Attitude and an ability to soak up pressure (particularly in light of a volatile support and intrusive media), often mean character can become as important a factor as ability in our league. With the lack of space afforded both the 'Big 2' here, it's no suprise that Europe has often provided a better hunting ground in recent years.
And whilst we cannot afford to sign an SPL and a Euro squad it does seem more apparent that the required styles and pressures are requiring different players. Whilst we would all prefer those who can adapt and be adept in both arenas, it looks increasingly to me that we are struggling to do this, and has been reflected in our signings in recent years.
I truly hope DR gets time and can work at getting a long term fix on balancing the squad correctly and that whatever analytics system we use can finally drive us forward in a way that has us competitive on all fronts, whilst ensuring we can turning those financial wheels forward.
14 Dec 2025 19:13:54
Rafiu Durosimni's name comes up often. Last season Asathor said we should go for him because he was better than any CF we had at the club. This season, he is probably many times better than any CF we have at the club.
14 Dec 2025 19:35:17
I don't think we need a new Defensive mid, i think a more creative and forward thinking CM is more important.
There is a lot of work to do and its not a good window to do that in. We need our luck to change in the transfer market and now we have gotten rid of Thelwell and Stewart i'm more convinced it will be better.
15 Dec 2025 09:10:05
We need to get the spine of the team right
Goalkeeper
Two CH
CAM
CF.
14 Dec 2025 08:50:01
@Angus
One of your posts made me laugh this morning not in a bad way. It was a very valid point and a good question. I laughed because I actually agree with what you're asking, even though I probably sit in the same camp as the guys who don't think Rothwell has been good enough at Rangers.
As you say, how do we judge players when we sign them? We're obviously scouting them at their previous clubs and looking at what they've done over the course of their careers, and that's how we decide whether they might be a good fit for us.
That said, there has been a large number of players in recent years who've come up from down south and just haven't been good enough once they arrive here. I'm not sure why they suddenly seem to fall short.
Is it the pressure of having to win every game? Is it the reality of the size of the club and the support, and the expectations that come with that, knocking their confidence? I genuinely can't put my finger on why so many decent-looking players from down south come to Rangers and then don't seem to cut it.
Aribo and Bassey, Lundstram and Tavernier and maybe Cantwell, who possibly could have made it if he'd kept his head down show that it can work.
So there are a few who've made a real impact, but there are also a lot who just haven't worked out.

This is what puts Starlizard and Jamestown Analytics so far ahead of the game.
They aggregate long-term data on every player who has met a minimum games threshold across almost every league, going back many seasons.
When identifying potential signings for Hearts, they don't just assess individual targets in isolation. They analyse every player in that position across the Scottish League over a 3–5 year period, identifying the performance markers that consistently appear in successful players — and, just as importantly, those that appear in unsuccessful ones.
That allows recruitment decisions to be based on probability, rather than form.
It's scarily impressive, and it's easy to see how it's been so effective for Brighton.
14 Dec 2025 10:16:41
I would agree that previous form and achievements are a huge part of why players get scouted and signed for bigger clubs but I get what the other guys are saying. Its not that they think it doesn't matter but more that they don't care what they done previously. As Rangers fans, you'll only be judged on what you achieve at Rangers.
You could be the Messi of the championship but if you can't do it up here with us then you'll always be judged as a dud. I think that's what the other guys meant when they said it doesn't matter what they have done previously.
14 Dec 2025 10:25:46
Its surely a mentality thing with some of these players. Clearly have ability but when they see the size of our Club and the demands they crumble.
14 Dec 2025 10:32:50
Signing potential is important but a gamble but also looking at ones with experience of challenging for titles. Perhaps focusing more on other European clubs playing at a similar "level" rather then just over focus on riches of English football.
Look at the success of other nations who have had success outside the top 5 leagues and the money they raise from talent they find. I think Koppen had started us on that road so hope we get back on it.
14 Dec 2025 10:42:20
Stig it is regularly said on here that what they did at other clubs doesn't matter but that is how scouts tell so I was intrigued as to how you judge a player without looking at their form.
I personally don't think they become bad players when they come up here. It is a mentality thing and possibly the speed of the game. One of our successes recently was Dessers who despite all the grief he got still turned up, got into positions and scored goals. Might not have been the best but it is that mentality which is needed. Tav is another who turns up every week despite getting constant grief.
very rarely though do young players have it, Bassey and Iga being exceptions possibly.
it is always why I suggest we support the players more rather than react to poor passes etc. not to blame the fans but to try to say the young lads are struggling to adapt to the demands up here and we can make it easier for them. there will be few who are used to the demands of club who can't lose any games and it is mental development which is needed to get us real cash when they go.
14 Dec 2025 11:39:36
Good replies, guys.
EHL it's certainly seeming to be working at Hearts right now, and this is only the first transfer window it's been tried in, I'm assuming for them?
I was actually checking the league table: Hearts have played 17 league games and have only lost one so far. Whatever happens, they're having a great season up to now. If they'd managed to turn a few of those draws into wins, they'd be right out of sight just now.
I've always said that Derek McInnes, with proper backing at the right club, would do very well and he's proving that point as things stand. I could see Hearts in a much better light again next season, and it makes the league far more interesting and exciting when we have a few teams up there challenging.
14 Dec 2025 12:53:45
Jamestown Analytics is a secretive, high-impact football data firm, an offshoot of Tony Bloom's Starlizard, providing advanced analytics for player recruitment, coach selection, and opposition analysis to clubs like Brighton and Hove Albion, Como, and Hearts FC, transforming decision-making with data-driven insights for performance and recruitment
EHL - certainly proving a success in the transfer market for Hearts at the moment with signings such as Claudio Braga but surely only certain clubs will have access to this system especially if it's an offshoot of a company owned by Tony Bloom.
What other analytic scouting systems are available as Rangers need to take a leaf out of Hearts book when looking to sign players?
No doubt Danny Rohl will know of them especially having worked at top clubs like Bayern Munich.
14 Dec 2025 14:35:23
Copland is extremely well protected and only accessible to the "Bloomsmen" — and no, I haven't made that up. It's a very select group with unrestricted access to the data.
Despite being used by Hearts to support recruitment, the club itself doesn't have full access, but feed the Bloomsmen the positions that they want to strengthen.
The analyst team works with a reduced version, which shows analytics for teams in our league to help with matchday preparation.
As a result most players and staff know their rating on the platform though — including me — which is actually quite fun.
14 Dec 2025 15:35:20
EHL - not doubting your knowledge for a minute just asking if there are any other analytic scouting systems available to other clubs.
14 Dec 2025 16:14:16
Sorry Copland - didn't mean that to come across rude if it did.
There are two main data platforms that most other clubs use - pretty much all the game and training data is available on them.
The difference is, it's just data and it's down to the clubs to carry out their own analysis and build their own models.
14 Dec 2025 18:52:16
The suggestion would be that these players are good but can't cope with the pressure.
We used to be able to judge whether a player has the character to play for us.
For me with some of these players is that they aren't good enough.
Djiga, Fernandez, Aarons, Aasgaard, Chermiti, etc are not the level of player we need.
14 Dec 2025 18:52:29
Angus, I say it doesn't matter because it was used against me wrongly by your pal star when he was losing a debate as per. That's the only reason I say it these days. But here again you are trying to use it in a debate and it's utter bs.
14 Dec 2025 19:40:01
Stig, I think it comes down to attitude and application. These guys, when scouted, clearly look to have ability, but when they get here, I think the only ones who are successful are the ones that apply themselves properly and are humble.
The failures look to all have the 'this will be a doddle' kind of attitude. This is only my opinion and how I can best try answer that question most of us wonder about.
