LH good post. I agree with a lot ion not most of what you write there. It is about building for the future as well as for the present. unfortunately one poor result tends to make people forget that possibly.
02 Feb 2026 13:40:03
Future planning sounds ok.
But not at the expense of the moment. Be mindful of the living Force, young Padawan
Comes to mind lol.

Is it true that in the 16th minute of injury time Olympiacos got a penalty that they scored against AEK Athens tonight to earn a point away from home in an Athens derby ? WTAF !!!?

The chat seems to be about how we need creativity and attacking options high up the park. We have lots in our squad that can play wide, inverted or as a 10. When was the last time we had a CM who chipped in with a comfortable double figures or who ran beyond? This movement dictates what our wide players do and the spaces freed up.
Really frustrating watching our width play the safe backward pass and not run at a man but our CMs rarely force the issue by going beyond or forcing play high. Crying out for a CM who instinct is direct and wanting numbers.

Spot on Scotty 👍we badly need a scotty arfield mate 🤔.
02 Feb 2026 06:15:09
We have again let a young player go on loan to Kilmarnock. Curtis would surely have been better getting game time with us and at the moment a better option than olsen. At least he will take player on.
02 Feb 2026 07:29:51
The last time we had a number 10 that could contribute double figures was Tillman. 18 goals I think he got. Scotland's YPOTY too. Very good in the air and knew when to press and force mistakes. He was a fantastic player.
02 Feb 2026 08:04:43
We just don't move the ball quick enough in general let alone get it to players who can hurt teams.
I've no doubts Skov Olsen is a good player but playing in this team as slow as this … He will struggle, the knives will be out soon and he'll labelled another dud.
We've got to move the ball quicker to those who can hurt teams especially when we turn over possession. It's too slow and easy to defend which is why whilst we've been winning it's been tight.
That luck will eventually run out. I've been consistent it not getting carried away with title chat, could we? Potentially yes, but the handbrake needs to come off and a striker needs to come in today.
02 Feb 2026 08:52:41
we also need to have those that can hurt teams further up the park. our wide men get the ball just over the halfway line a lot and then have a distance to travel. even with that we do get men wide but the delivery is really poor. we had 8 corners and 29 crosses yesterday but the quality just wasn't there.
that was the difference form previous games; at least in this a few were on the money. different takers of the set pieces means slightly different delivery and it didn't work.
01 Feb 2026 21:30:33
Sorry guys, but that was a must win game today. Hibs are poor as Falkirk showed last week but they posed far more attacking threat than our million pounds signings up front. I'm old enough to know how this is going to pan out.We are now behind Celtic once again and I seriously wonder what goes on in training all week I know we played on Thursday night but that should have kept us on edge.
We are so desperate for some form of success but seriously Chermiti couldn't trap a bag of cement he's no first touch and Aasgaard can't figure out what to do.We let Curtis and Cameron go on loan but they would have known how to play today. Celtic will kick on from here we've seen it all before and for DR to say he's happy for a point says it all really.

Manager got his tactics wrong. Set up for a 1-0 win and it backfired. Aasgaard can't play in the 10 in the hard away games it just passes him by. We sat far too deep and anytime our attackers got the ball they had 0 players around them and just looked isolated.
I hope Rohl learns from this and doesn't sit back away at Motherwell and home to hearts.
01 Feb 2026 22:49:15
Simply shouldn't have played our top team away in Portugal in a dead game absolute madness from Rohl and club pride over being practical.
01 Feb 2026 23:13:50
Oh come on, our fans are hilarious sometimes. Let's face it, we all thought/knew that this league was gone back in September. Somehow Rohl has come in and managed to make us win games with the same players. Players that we all knew weren't good enough, and that's not really changed.
Yes he's managed to get more out of some of them, but overall the players were never good enough. Managing to even get back in contention was a minor miracle.
Having our longest run of wining games for about 2 years was another. Coming into this game after Thursday night (less than 3 days) was always going to be really tough and yes we played rubbish today. Remember when we beat Hibs earlier in the season it was the first game they'd lost at home for about 14 months so never an easy place to go.
And saying Curtis and Cameron would have made a difference is just silly. Curtis is 19 and barely played a full 90mins. He has shown potential but needs to be playing every week to really see if he's got it or not. And Cameron was part of an Aberdeen team that got trashed 3-0 by Kilmarnock yesterday so let's not get all doughy eyed and imagining they are somehow world beaters.
It may well be the case that winning the league is beyond us this season but we're certainly at least now heading in the right direction. If the manager can make this squad challenge from where they were, imagine what he could do once he's built his team.
02 Feb 2026 00:58:39
I fully believed we would win the league this season. We had the best form of any team in the league, good start to the transfer window with more to come, and I thought we would just get better from here on out. That Hibs result has completely changed my mind.
We don't have the firepower up front to win this league. We're not good enough to break teams down. Yes, we beat Celtic at Parkhead when they had that clown Wilfred Nancy as manager, but could we do it now? I'm not so sure. This team badly lacks creativity and goals.
02 Feb 2026 05:26:17
I watched a bit of arsenal's women's team theh get forward faster than us and I'm serious.
02 Feb 2026 07:42:34
Gers78, we got back into contention because Celtic hired a clown in Wilfred Nancy who couldn't stop losing games of football. 6 loses out of 8. Had they kept MON we wouldn't be here right now.
Yes, Danny Rohl has done well. He is certainly better than Russell Martin. But Rangers getting back into the title race isn't just about him. Celtic's appointment of Nancy played a big part too.
Also, I was listening to a Rangers podcast a few days ago and they asked 'when was the last time Rangers won't 10 games in a row?'. I thought it would have been under Beale (disliked he may be but his win rate was incredibly high). Turns out Clement won 10 games in a row for us as well. So I don't think it would have been as long as 2 years ago.
02 Feb 2026 08:22:30
Rohl with cheese… you are just backing up my point. Yes you are correct Celtic imploding for 4 weeks helped get us back into contention, not our players suddenly becoming world beaters.
My point was that it was very lucky we are even in a place to be thinking about the league as the squad really isn't good enough to win it, as proven by our results in Euro.
02 Feb 2026 08:59:08
Gers 78 talking too much sense here. Like you I am not sure we have enough to win the league this year but the longer we keep getting results the more chance we did have.
We are the form team in the league still; we just drew a game. this must win game every game is just nonsense as no team manages that. we were on our longest winning run in ages. that doesn't happen all that often for any club.
Let us give the team a chance and see where we end up. Rohl and the new owners are building a team and squad for the future and trying to get the most out of what we now have for the present. we did think we had no chance this year so let's just enjoy being in contention for once.
02 Feb 2026 09:38:11
Gers78, my point about Curtis and Cameron is they were brought up playing to the speed and physicality of the SPL they don't need time.e to adapt I'm not saying they are superstars but we have a few players signed in this window and at the start of the season who still think they're going to get time on the ball Aasgaard is a prime example like Lammers who think they can look about with the ball, even Chukwuani looked as if he's going to take time and as for Olsen, the boy looked terrified we can't give them time we don't have time.

In my honest opinion I think that we have too many defensive midfielders, we don't lose too many goals but more importantly we don't score too many, We could replace Arsenal with 1 nil Rangers.

Defensive midfielders is all we seem to go for and moan about lack of goals, baffling
01 Feb 2026 21:13:39
Rohl's team starting to remind me of the decline of Clement.
Not sure if it's Rohl intent to playing with a ten, or if he's is having to set up that way due to the players available (similar to Clement).
But I have never been convinced that playing with a ten would work in our league and if we persist I think it only ends in more results / performances like today.
01 Feb 2026 22:36:25
Too many sideways/back passes. Need to move the Ball forward at speed!
01 Feb 2026 22:40:18
The only way a 10 works EHL is if he's a game changer and Aasgaard is not. We should play 433 chukwani Raskin dio. No surprise our best performances of the season was when we played that 3 man midfield of Barron Raskin and Diomande.
01 Feb 2026 22:50:13
Ehl, a couldn't agree more am not sure if anyone playing 10 has actually won the league a certainly can't think one.personally a don't think it works in Scotland also wide players inverting doesn't work either. because of defencive low block style its more suited to natural wide players going on the outside stretching teams rather than allowing then to defend narrow.
Yes it works really well in open games in a counter attack style but that happens so rarely in our game because teams are happy to sit in and take a draw or even a 1 nil defeat is better than losing by 4 so they never open up.
01 Feb 2026 22:54:29
Wingers need to do more been sorely disappointed in skov and i get that he needs time but still expect better honestly think letting young Curtis go now a mistake thought at first him leaving would mean we definitely would sign a forward but nothing yet.
Also next week i'd drop skov for Moore
And drop Chermiti for anyone else no go in 7 living off that Celtic game.
01 Feb 2026 23:00:45
It's constant on here about No.6s yet we have no one that creates or scores consistently from Midfielder. And forwards don't look to get in behind or gamble on lose balls.
01 Feb 2026 23:09:16
Ehl, absolutely spot on mate I don't like us with a 10 either it's like a man down at times. Always think we should play with a 6 and 2 8s.
01 Feb 2026 23:16:00
442 all day long for me ehl.
01 Feb 2026 23:35:38
Wishy, I agree.
Honestly think playing a ten plays in to the opposition hands in our league - it slows our build up down and concentrates our play in front of their low / mid block.
02 Feb 2026 07:20:07
Clean sheey yesterday was down to Hibs very poor finishi g noting else. We didn't look lije scoring at all.
02 Feb 2026 07:24:33
We just revert back to playing slow ponderous balls across back four - when we have Moore on park and shift ball quicky with pace in behind we see results - Moore fraction offside - is this not plain for our management to see? Only Fernandes tries to move forward with bit of incisiveness the rest are happy with mostly square slow possession build up play which sets us on back foot - take a chance and try to get in behind - hopefully Skov Olsen will actually take a man on at some point too? 🤔Many twists yet but we MUST do better than that in forward third or party could soon be over.
02 Feb 2026 08:08:15
Are you suggesting we play 2 up front EHL?
What would your set up be?
02 Feb 2026 13:43:34
We need a Cantwell type our team has reverted to what we were like before he arrived. if people remember he gave us a lift, all be it temp.
01 Feb 2026 20:59:35
Okay bad result today but it's always a hard place to get a result onwards and upwards.

Totally agree scrambled. We were never going to win every game between now and the end of the season. Hibs got their wingers involved and were massively up for it. They're not a poor team.
01 Feb 2026 22:37:22
Scrambled, people forget we drew and even lost some matches during our 9 in a row run.
Disappointing but it happens.
Totally agree with you.
01 Feb 2026 23:06:15
There was always going to be twists and bad results but it's the manner that's most upsetting. Limp and lackluster barely creating a chance while Butland and Defence digs us out a hole. That's what frustrating the most.
02 Feb 2026 13:44:01
Did Falkirk not cuff them?
01 Feb 2026 20:47:22
Felt like we were due to drop points soon, not that that makes it any easier to take. Fancy us strongly to beat Killie midweek at least. Only caught the second half today, couple things that struck me was how poor our crossing was today and the lack of options we had in the final third, feel we kept peeling wide leaving 1 option in the box at most to aim for.
Thought Tochi looked decent from what I seen, didn't get much of an impression of ASO, how did he play in that first half? Would be majorly disappointed if Archer was the only bit of business we done, personally would like another winger in and have Mikey Moore in Aasgaards spot in the middle.

He was very quiet but hasn't played since November and he.ll need a few games.
01 Feb 2026 21:26:30
Maybe we should get the ball to ASO quicker. Too many slow pointless passes before it goes to him.
01 Feb 2026 20:42:58
If we win the league (and we're still in this race) we'll need Butland to play like he did today. He gained us a point today and there was no doubt in my mind he was man of the match, followed closely by big Souttar.
Hearts and Celtic will drop points in the run in, potentially at grounds like Easter Road. (Hearts got beat 3-2 there 5 weeks ago and Hibs beating Celtic there this time last year).
I wish we'd get 3 points but we didn't, let's put our big boy paints on and get focused for Killie.

Dado best post of the day.

01 Feb 2026 21:42:56
Fernandez was miles better than Souttar and was MOTM today.
01 Feb 2026 22:32:39
100% Dado. Lots of points to be won between now and the end of the season. No-one is going to win every game, let's see who has the bottle for the title. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
01 Feb 2026 23:03:27
Bet they won't as both Celtic and Hearts play them at home before split and not cert Hibs make split.
02 Feb 2026 05:47:06
Couple of clangers but overall Butland has been outstanding this season still gets pelters on here.
02 Feb 2026 06:45:31
'Potentially at grounds like Easter Road' Foreverrangers. My point was this isn't an easy place to go, there are other grounds as well, loads to points to play for.
I seen the game differently wslgers but I respect your opinion.
02 Feb 2026 11:16:04
Good post dado although I feel fernandes was our best outfield player.
02 Feb 2026 13:46:31
And don't see how it's that great a point when we have more difficult fixtures than Celtic until split.
I agree with Butland point though was great the other day.
