£6m plus add-ons for Joe Aribo to Southampton.

1.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 17:32:03
It's being reported its 10 m plus add ons 12 million in total if its 6 the board need a kick in the baws.

2.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 17:47:11
Stephen. romano repirting 6mill plus add ons. he's usually bang on.

3.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 18:02:02
Sky's reporting 10 million with add ons.

4.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 18:29:35
Romano says 6m then 10m on another site truth is something we'll need to wait but I hope we've not l9st him for aa little as 6m.

5.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 18:32:41
No sky also reporting 10 million including add ons. Just worded different.

6.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 18:36:20
Why would they pay add ons when the release clause
Is 10 million? There is no need to have add ons it would be poor business from Southampton if that was the case.

7.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 18:40:34
Romano changed it to 10 on his Facebook page but didn’t bother changing it on Twitter for some reason ?.

8.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 19:08:33
If the buying club don't pay the full 10m buy out clause but a figure less than 10m then the selling club can add. add ons.

9.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 19:26:29
Ornstein has confirmed 6m with add ons. An absolutely atrocious deal which ross wilson will try and parade as outstanding. A protest is needed to get these charlatans out of our club. Wilson, Robertson and bisgrove are first in line.

10.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 19:47:34
Tjrfc u organise it then,
u rather he goes for 0.

11.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 19:48:40
Tj have a day off 6 million now or zero come jan.

12.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 19:51:35
Get rid of "charlatans "? . Without the people running the club we probably wouldn`t have a club. James Bisgrove has done a fantastic job increasing revenue through advertising and sponsorship deals and while Wilson hasn`t got everything right, at least we now have players who are worth millions rather than the squad we had being worth buttons. The money has to come from somewhere, the board can`t fork out for everything.

13.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 20:00:49
Get rid of bisgrove? I've heard it all now. The guy has increased income from sponsorship by an obscene amount. I actually think we would be doing well to keep him - he will be in serious demand. Are you actually a rangers man? Because some of your posts smell dodgy.

14.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 20:16:13
Tjrfc with One year left on his contract we were never in a strong negotiating position, 6 million plus add-ons is better than nothing next summer.

15.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 20:40:40
I would rather 0 than 6 million shows teams our transfer stance.

16.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 20:40:47
10 million or bolt.

17.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 20:42:00
Sky have said 10 million plus add ons there all in the know if he has a release clause why would we sell for less.

18.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 21:05:55
Why would they put add ons on if they met a 10m release clause? They're paying 6m, 4 in add ons and a sell on. For 6m I'd rather he stay, help us get us champions kwague football and we take 1 or 2 in January. It's absolutely pathetic business considering how much everyone was valuing him. And how exactly does bisgrove not deserve criticism? Our kit sponsors are horrendous, sportemongo was a rip-roaring success and he arranged a friendly with them. I'm sorry I have higher standards than 6m for arguably our best player. You all need to have a look at yourselves. We're rangers for God sake.

does feel like we are getting less now for a player who has won the league, a cup, has reached a EL final and scored, a machine fitness wise and is a genuinely great talent compared to what the others got paid for some of their last season 'stars'. Still, it is turning a good profit, just perhaps not as much as we would have hoped.
With regards getting rid of Wilson. do we really know what finances we have and restrictions he is working under? I personally don't so he may be doing a great job on a shoestring budget. Bisgrove has brought a lot of finance in through sponsorship, what else was his remit which he deserves to get the boot for? Still got my support.

20.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 21:28:32
Sky said 10 million including add ons Stephen. It’s 6 million.

21.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 21:29:21
I think TJ has came across from the dark
Side not one of his posts have made any sense.

22.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 22:19:33
I stand corrected it’s £8m plus 25% sell on clause and potentially another £2m in performance based add ons.

23.) 06 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 22:38:34
6 million plus add ons taking it to 10 million plus a sell on fee. So it's a structured deal that gets us 10 mil plus a sell on fee? That's not 6 million. So what's the drama. If there were numerous clubs bidding for him we'd bring in more but you can't force clubs to bid. Good business given what we paid for him, as long as its reinvested now.

24.) 07 Jul 2022
06 Jul 2022 23:14:43
I'm sure it makes no diff to GIO if it's 6 million up front then 2 + 2 or if it's 10million up front he wouldn't have got all the fee for budget anyhoo. It's good business to let aribo choose his team means he will have nothing but good things to say if anyone asks his advice on Rangers the game is about relationships when it comes to transfers. Good business and forward thinking by Gera on this one.

25.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 05:13:14
Stormtrooper is correct as it's £6million up front for aribo and add ons take it to the break clause of £10million plus a 15%-20% sell on clause. Why is this difficult to understand for some ?.

26.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 06:08:12
Ok. He doubled preC.V. revenue from £14m to £28m and you want him fired because a sponsor went bust? Oh and he organised a friendly in Oz that would have bagged us nearly the same amount as the Aribo deal you're fizzing about. Unbelievable. Some of the opinions on here blow my mind.

27.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 08:19:47
Think the money for Aribo is good business. Would rather have the 6-10 million for him than have an unhappy player running down his contract. The lad has served our club with honour and respect. Why would we want to stand in his way when he wants to move on. That's not the reputation we want as a club or we will miss out on the Aribo, Bassey and lundstrum from down south. We will rely on bringing in the best young talent possible from down south that are out of contract and will cost us pennies. We want to attract them, develop them and sell them on. Its our business model now.
As for getting rid of the guys you mentioned totally disagree. Bisgrove has us better off financially than we have been in a long time. With his hard work we are way ahead of projections for commercial sponsorship and me personally think guy is doing exactly what he's paid to do.

28.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 09:19:19
No it’s not 6m up front! Apparently It’s 2m per year totalling 6! that's absolute gash!

And why is this lad TJRFC from ‘the dark side’ because he doesn’t agree with cool crew? ?

If the deal is less than 10 and is paid in small increments over several years from an EPL club then we have royally arsed up this deal and Wilson has made a total hash of it. What Joe cost us is completely irrelevant when he is worth so much more.

If we did business the way some on here think we would be done for!

‘Oh we got him for 350k, so let’s grab 2m because it’s a profit’ ……. laughable!

Just admit it! It’s OK to admit that someone from Rangers has had a mare! IF THE SUMS ARE CORRECT! In truth who knows!

{Ed001's Note - are you sure you understand how football transfers work? Every transfer is paid in increments. It is very rare that a transfer is paid in full in one go up front, I can think of just 2 off the top of my head that I know of.}

29.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 09:58:15
Ed I’m not an idiot! Are you trying to tell me transfers don’t have a larger fee up front? Or are NEVER paid in full considering we are talking about 6m? Ah don't think so! Wasnt aware you had access to every transfer completed either!

Plus my argument does not hang upon the actual increments but the sum total and the actual breakdown.

£5m up front and the rest over 2 years for instance is still your “transfer policy” but FAR FAR better than the gash being reported. The formula and the increments is almost infinite in options, Ed please don’t patronise me by suggesting I’m an idiot or understand less than you or anyone else for that matter. If this was not your intention, fine, perhaps approach the conversation in a different way. Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - patronise you? Every transfer and payment goes through FIFA's TMS, so yes I do have access to every transfer completed. It is not me who is being patronising and screaming like a whiney little brat about something they actually don't understand. You clearly understand a lot less than I do, now grow up. If you act like an idiot you will be treated like one. You do nothing but act like a prick and be confrontational and attack others, so please do not tell me how to approach you, you deserve nothing but disrespect because you treat everyone else with it. Go look in a mirror before telling others to show you respect you tiresome little child.}

Ooooft! Great stuff there Ed! Shown yourself up mate! Think you’ve got the wrong guy! If I ‘attack’ it’s in defence of being attacked! Totally unprofessional! Prick? You’ve lost the plot! Respect? I haven’t asked for any different point being made! I deserve nothing but disrespect? WOW! ? Not sure there are many people around who deserve that! Thanks for the all time golden moment on this site. Time for a holiday Ed your reply is embarrassing! ?.

{Ed001's Note - it is not me who is embarrassing. Your whole reply is just an embarrassment, as is post after post of pure ignorant drivel you put on here. I need a holiday from reading your pathetic whines though, you are right on that.}

Great posts Ed 1. People should understand your role and knowledge you bring to the site.

{Ed001's Note - I only stepped in because he was shouting nonsense. I have no problem with people thinking the amount is too low, I have no idea if it is a good price or not, but I do know that getting the fee paid in 3 instalments is very normal. I don't know why people think that transfer fees are paid in one go. I can only think of one time that happened in an actual transfer (rather than a release clause being paid up such as in Neymar's case, when there is no actual transfer fee paid in reality) and that was Torres to Chelsea in order to sign Carroll from Newcastle. And that was a special case as Liverpool needed the cash as Mike Ashley refused to sell Carroll unless the full fee was paid up front. So two actual transfers that I can recall.}
