An old pal who knows our club inside out told me tonight that a striker has been recommended to us, a young Polish guy called Pawel Tomczyk. He is with Lech Poznan, he's supposed to be tall and strong and can score goals. That's Lewandowski's old club, so maybe not a bad standard. Then again it might just be agent talk.

I think we have looked at him before maybe 18 months ago
BUT maybe I have it wrong, we looked at a polish striker who did well in an under 21's comp.

12 Oct 2019 21:10:44
Ross Wilson will join Rangers on Monday as Director of Football.

1.) 13 Oct 2019 11:10:47
looks very much so. a good replacement for MA, and who I think we were after originally. Hope he finds us a van djlk too.

2.) 15 Oct 2019 12:54:08
Sporting director, I can't think of any other sport we are involved in, hope it's not shinty I hate that.

Rumours going round like a flu bug that a deal for Kent is definitely back on and that he was in Duck Bay last night. Hope I wake up to confirmation of this.

daisy yore

1.) 21 Aug 2019 04:38:42
Fingers crossed daisy JJis doing well but Kent is a step up. Looks like the guy is desperate to come back.

2.) 21 Aug 2019 10:07:26
I agree Gowtrueblue, jones is playing well but like you said kent is a step up in quality to jones. Hope we get kenty back. Mikel lustig you'll be glad you're no longer at breezeblock boulevard, with even the slightest hint, that kent maybe coming back to the gers! πŸ˜€.

3.) 21 Aug 2019 10:16:31
Jordan Jones has had a better start to his rangers career than Kent did. I think its a bit harsh to say Kent is a step up. Jones is clearly a class play too.

4.) 21 Aug 2019 10:18:39
I told everyone a couple of months ago that Kent was going to sign for Rangers on a permanent deal (possible initial loan) only to be shot down by various posters on here. I am about to prove them all wrong!

5.) 21 Aug 2019 11:34:08
Yogi, kent is a flight of stairs upπŸ‘.

6.) 21 Aug 2019 12:30:21
Well Kent is certainly a step up on Barker that's for sure.

I am not a lover of JJ but he has shown he can deliver for us and that is what matters.

A wingers job is to supply the strikers etc. (assists) and to chip in with some goals. Jones wins in that department for me, whereas Kent has more ability to hold the ball and take pressure off when needed and allow us to get up the park.

Horses for courses and would be happy to have both provided Kent is a perm signing (very least option to buy)

7.) 21 Aug 2019 12:40:03
totally think Kent could be used in the 10 role, just behind the striker.

8.) 21 Aug 2019 17:05:34
as much as I enjoyed Kent playing for us last season, he was far from the finished article. let's give the players we've got the benefit 30-40 games before judging they're ability?

29 Jul 2019 16:00:09
As we would expect, the rumours regarding Kent are flying round the place and I've just heard one from a very popular and ITK Rangers fan. He says we are already in negotiations with Liverpool and are offering Β£6m over three years to them and a four year deal to Kent. We are also prepared to put in a 50-50 split-profit clause if he sells in that time for more than we paid. It actually sounds plausible to me, but all the best rumours have the highest plausibility.

1.) 29 Jul 2019 17:06:45
Not a hope in hell we will shell out 6mill on a player. Dreamland if you think this is even being considered.

2.) 29 Jul 2019 18:18:36
Why paul? Over 3yrs that 2mil per year. πŸ‘.

3.) 29 Jul 2019 19:31:33
Just can't see it. Honestly would love the wee man back but he's not even close to liverpools valuation.

05 Jun 2019 16:24:04
I've just heard (third-hand) that the centre half at the top of our list is Tim Ream.

daisy yore

1.) 05 Jun 2019 16:43:50
You should add Tim Ream to your list of fantasies!

2.) 05 Jun 2019 20:02:50
You should stick to 2nd hand. It's a closer and more accurate from of info / gossip! πŸ‘πŸ˜‚πŸ‘.

About six weeks ago I posed the question, who are our top three players in terms of ability and top three in terms of value?
The name Barisic appeared in just two replies to either option from about 20 replies. I didn't include him either, but I would now.

Just six weeks and what a turnaround. As fans, we really don't show much patience with our players, do we? Quick to criticise, quick to condemn, quick to demoralise. We're our own worst enemy at times.

daisy yore

1.) 10 Nov 2019 10:09:56
100% Daisy, we are always on their back, don't know how many times i have said when someone is low in confidence the worst thing that we can do is boo or moan is it causes moral to sink further and players start hiding from the ball in fear of making another bad pass. all i got was come on these are top professionals rather than looking at the human factors of the game.

Kent and McGregor have not travelled to Dingwall.

07 Oct 2019 01:02:03
We have scored four goals in a game three times.
We have scored five goals in a game twice.
We have scored six goals in a game twice.
We have have scored 52 goals by early October.
Why the heck have we not signed Shankland? 🀣🀣🀣.

daisy yore

1.) 07 Oct 2019 12:44:35
daisy, Morelos and Defoe have scored more goals between them than the rest of the team put together, if anything happens to one or God forbid both of them then there is always room for another goal scorer.

2.) 07 Oct 2019 14:29:09
Aye Jyf, room in the stand for Shankland.

3.) 07 Oct 2019 16:13:52
Souness that's not the point. Could have got him on a free and loaned him out for a season. He's a goal scorer and I don't agree a Nicky Clarke. And a Rangers fan.

4.) 07 Oct 2019 16:55:52
If the price is right I would bite dundees hand off for him. Morelos will be off soon, although we have said that for awhile, defoe is ageing. Shankland should be brought in. Nicky Clark had one good season and we bought him. Shankland had an insane season last year, 61 app 50 goals, and so far this season its 8 app 13 goals. We had a chance on a free and let it go. He is not gona cost millions. But we need something for next year. Get him in Jan and send him back to Utd for the rest of the season. How many championship players get called up to scotland squad, shows how poor we are in that department but he is worth the chance.

5.) 07 Oct 2019 18:32:33
fintyfint, Morelos, a star striker, will be off soon and you'd replace him with Shankland? Have you ever actually watched football? It's like saying let's replace Laudrup with David Templeton! Absurd!

6.) 07 Oct 2019 20:16:41
We need better than shankland, we have players like docherty murphy etc who will be nothing more than bit part cameo players due the quality we have. We are not raising the bar with players like shankland. πŸ‘.

7.) 08 Oct 2019 09:15:08
If Murphy can get back to the fitness/ form he showed before he got injured, he'll have a part to play this season.

8.) 08 Oct 2019 11:31:00
Correct mrgrumpy, it’s a squad game.

30 Sep 2019 18:23:48
Top three players in terms of ability and top three in terms of value?

Value: Morelos, Katic, Aribo
What's yours?

daisy yore

1.) 30 Sep 2019 18:55:35
Ability: Katic, Kent and Morelos
Value: Katic, Morelos and Aribo.

2.) 30 Sep 2019 18:59:16
good question daisy! I go for

Ability Davis, Morelos Jack

Value Morelos Tav Jack.

3.) 30 Sep 2019 19:14:34
Ability -davis-kent-morelos

4.) 30 Sep 2019 19:55:18
Ability-Davis, Morelos, Defoe.

5.) 30 Sep 2019 20:32:18
Great question mate! I concur with Coop.

6.) 30 Sep 2019 22:28:37
Ability McGregor Davis and Morelos

Value, morelos, aribo kent.

7.) 30 Sep 2019 22:34:41
Ability-Davis Morelos Kent
Value-Morelos Kent Barasic

Can take a few million of Jack because he's Scottish if he was English or foreign he'd be 20 millions.

8.) 30 Sep 2019 22:23:06
Katic What In top 3
What do people actually watch.

9.) 30 Sep 2019 23:49:18
Football Gannet. You should try it sometime.

10.) 01 Oct 2019 10:16:58
Ability. Aribo, Morelos, Davis.

Value. Aribo, Tav, Shagger.

11.) 01 Oct 2019 11:58:44
Ability - Aribo, Morelos, Davis

Value - Aribo, Morelos, Tav.

12.) 01 Oct 2019 14:03:58
Ability - davis kent morelos
Value - morelos kent tav

You'd think barasic would be valuable being a croatian international but his performances aren't those expected for a croatian international, having said tht he has been really good the last few games and that ball for morelos goal on saturday was world class. Hopefully he kicks onπŸ‘.

13.) 01 Oct 2019 18:42:33
Praise indeed! He may have a future.

14.) 01 Oct 2019 22:17:37
they don’t watch football if they think katic is top 3.

Coldo, tell us why we wouldn't knock back a big bad bid for Morelos? We have no immediate need for money that we can't wait five months for, Morelos is settling down with a pregnant wife, we will stand a 75% better chance of winning the league with him as opposed to without him, keeping him could mean the difference between Champions League football or not, the big money will still be there for him just a few months down the line. What makes you think any different?

Morelos will not leave in January, he might not even leave if he fancies a crack at Champions League football, and where do you get the notion that it's nothing to do with Morelos whether or not we sell him?

Please explain why you think we would knock back a big bid for him in January, because for the life of me I cannot fathom out your stubborn negativity in the face of everything pointing to a different outcome.

He will not be gone in January. The potential financial benefits from keeping him outweigh letting him go in January and jeopardising cups, titles and a possible Champions League place. He might go in the summer, but for Β£35-45m. We actually don't need that input in January, as other investment could be on the horizon, so why would we cut off our noses to spite our faces? The same money will be there for him in the summer, maybe a bit more if there's a bidding war. And of course he wants to try to win this league title and make himself a real hero. Then who knows, he might fancy another year with a crack at the Champions League.

TommyRangers, you've got to be kidding! Tavernier, Barisic, Morelos all outstanding, Aribo and Kamara both had a great first 60 mins, Jack had a fine game apart from his sending off, we are through to the last 32 in Europe at just our second attempt, the whole performance was very good although a bit nervy near the end, we were playing the Swiss champions who this time last season were in the Champions league, I could go on but really you are a waste of time.

1. Because if he was to get poached we'd receive millions in compensation.
2. Because he is the best thing to have happened to Rangers for years.
3. Because it gives him some security to continue a building programme that some idiotic fans think should take about ten minutes.
4. Because he has brought respectability, admiration and positivity back to our club.
What an absolutely ridiculous post.

I'd say that barring injuries (touching wood here) that nine players will play in both games. Tweaks might be necessary because of the different types of opponent, whose only thing in common is that they are both a shower of beasts.
