Jones potentially out for some time with a knee injury, Middleton and Murphy on loan, Kent not returning, Candeais gone, Grezda not in the picture, that leaves us with only one winger Oh no! How are we going to break teams down like that?

1.) 02 Sep 2019 10:39:58
Barker, Arfield, Ojo - while hardly the depth of Barcelona it's a bit more than 'one winger'.

2.) 02 Sep 2019 10:52:34
Arfield is wasted trying to play anywhere other centrally.

3.) 02 Sep 2019 11:21:16
although I think arfield best position is more central, he can play right midfield. I can see another attempt at signing Kent today.

4.) 02 Sep 2019 11:46:14
Scotty Arfield ain't a winger rfcrb1872!Barker and ojo are wingers.

5.) 02 Sep 2019 11:50:50
Arfield is not a winger.

6.) 02 Sep 2019 11:54:56
apart from barker and ojo. u seem to be forgetting docherty. and murphy has not been loaned as yet (in fact neither has hastie as yet) might reconsider hastie if jones is long term.

7.) 02 Sep 2019 12:41:56
Yeah, he was shocking out wide during the split.

8.) 02 Sep 2019 12:44:40
barker is injured and untried, arfield isn't a winger. neither is ojo.

9.) 02 Sep 2019 12:57:37
Sky reporting Ryan Kent in £7mill talks with RANGERS 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧.

10.) 02 Sep 2019 13:02:22
Just heard Kent is on his way phew at last I had almost given up hope!

11.) 02 Sep 2019 13:02:27
Kent signing today for £7M.

12.) 02 Sep 2019 13:03:18
I don't rate Ohno and Arfield is not a winger, fortunately Kent is on his way!

13.) 02 Sep 2019 13:12:20
I think it looks like Kent is coming now! Permanent deal almost agreed. Maybe the boards hands been forced following that performance yesterday and Jones getting himself injured!

14.) 02 Sep 2019 13:13:17
Kent should be over the line today 7mil.

15.) 02 Sep 2019 13:28:36
Sky now reporting we have agreed 7million with Liverpool for Kent.

16.) 02 Sep 2019 14:52:37
Kent is returning my friend! 7 mil offer accepted.

01 Aug 2019 21:10:13
Here's a thought. Rangers knew exactly what they were doing in the kit fiasco and gambled on getting away with it and had they done so they planned to buy Kent but when it became apparent that their gamble had backfired they dropped the plan hence the timing of SG announcement that they had given up hope of bringing Kent back to Ibrox?

1.) 01 Aug 2019 22:30:32
They never planned to buy Kent you came up with a BS story that they would and now trying to cover yourself.

2.) 02 Aug 2019 09:17:34
GANNET10 a wee question for you my friend. You have always insisted on here, that ryan kent wasn't that good or consistent and wouldn't be a big a big loss if we didn't sign him. I like many others on here said he is a cracking winger and would have loved him to sign with us, on a permanent or another loan deal. How would you feel if ryan kent was playing against us for celtic this season? Because i wouldn't be in the least surprised, if they tried to sign kent. There's stories doing the rounds that they quite possibly will try and sign kent. Me personally, it would make me physically sick, if i had to watch ryan kent playing against rangers, in that rag of a hoops jersey. He would obviously have the ability to hurt us badly.

3.) 02 Aug 2019 09:57:51
SGL if they sign him for £7m then it would not bother me as he is simply not worth that money in Soctland but if they sign him for £3m and we could have, this would be a conern. Good player though he is, he his not worth the figures being touted about. Ask yourself why Liverpool are apparently prepared to let him go.

4.) 02 Aug 2019 10:03:31
Living up to your name, muppet. DK knew what he was doing and hoped to get away with it, true. But the rest makes as much sense as the Swedish chef.

5.) 02 Aug 2019 12:51:50
People saying Celtic after kent need to stay aff the fkn glue.

6.) 02 Aug 2019 12:56:05
hi fellow bears
look its fairly simple! we will have to do a deal with sports direct . end of! we cannot use elite hummel! end of! dave king has said any financial settlement will be paid! end of! the club has stated we will not be without a shirt sponsor next year! so can we move on now please

7.) 02 Aug 2019 14:34:54
The club/ Dave king said he'd dealt with SD/ the fatman before. Dave says a lot. The situation regarding kit/ merchandise is a joke! End of!

8.) 02 Aug 2019 15:11:52
how is it a joke we were getting 7p in the £ got rid of that now we have to do a new deal what's the problem mr grumpy? the situation is a hell of a lot better than getting next to feck all now at least we can try and do a deal with sports direct they have been told to sit down and strike a deal its in all parties interest. if dk hadnt got us out of that ridiculous deal where would we be now. up to our eyes in debt to ashley and his cronies or i shudder to think where we would have ended up. like i said just do a deal that suits all parties it is actually that simple.

9.) 02 Aug 2019 16:23:14
Mols the question you ask me is very easy to answer pal. Liverpool are prepared to let ryan kent go because they can't guarantee him game time,
with guys like salah, mane and firminio in front of him. Also klopp said that kent is too good to not be playing regularly for a good football club. He needs to be a settled regular in a starting 11,at his age now. Hope i've answered your question mols.

10.) 02 Aug 2019 16:38:36
Someone on here posted that the Hummel deal was a 5yr deal. Does that mean SD have to match that then we are tied to them ( albeit on the same terms as Hummel) for another 5 years?

11.) 02 Aug 2019 17:48:59
BS story? Not making sense? SG himself has stated that he wants Kent and was prepared to wait for as long as it takes so no question the SG agrees with me and many others on here about the value of having Kent back. Question is would rangers pay the asking price of £7m if they could afford it? I think so. If the SD fiasco had not raised its ugly head and they had moved out Grezda and another it would have been perfectly doable. The SD carry on has severely dented that possibility but tav could still go and Kent could come in on a permanent deal which is what I am claiming. Let’s see who is right!

12.) 02 Aug 2019 20:28:10
SGL comprehensive and probably fairly accurate response but in other words he is not good enough. We will see where he is playing his football in 5 years time. He will get a game every week in Scotland but no so sure about the EPL.

13.) 02 Aug 2019 21:09:10
Zikos, i can assure you the hummel kit deal was most definitely a 3 year deal, not a 5 year deal mate.

14.) 02 Aug 2019 22:27:05
Our lovable rogue Dave told us, the supporters he'd paid off the fatman, that obiviously wasn't true. The club has lost time and time again in court to SD/ the fatman, this costing the club money. Last season dave said the soft loans had been turned into shares. Sounds good, few days later we get another loan from close brothers. It ws only days ago the club was talking about expanding the stadium. Sounds good but obiviously either bull or many years away. After a decent summer of recruiting we should be talking about the upcoming season. Dave King is a chancer and full of it. End of!

15.) 03 Aug 2019 00:14:11
I have said in the past his stats are poor and they are stats don’t lie so they say.
He had 2 blinders against Celtic and slapped brown and to some fans that wear blue tinted specs he is a hero and the rest of the season he was bang average now that’s not me making anything up that’s stone cold hands facts mate.

16.) 03 Aug 2019 11:22:16
First time poster troops go easy, but GANNET, crazy the amount of people on here that are quick to say ryan kent isn't good enough, highly rated enough by 1. Steven Gerrard and 2. Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool manager of the best team Liverpool has seen in years winning the champions league and giving the best premier league side of this generation (man city) a run for their money for the league. Klopp took on Kent on their tour because he was potentially looking at first team football, fair enough it never worked out given the attacking options they had, but considering he was even considered and actually had a lot of praise from klopp after the tour goes to show you how highly rated he is, so don't and never will agree with the bashing of kent on here, stats aren't everything and we wouldn't have done half as good in the league last season. Kent is class.

17.) 03 Aug 2019 12:38:46
but again I understand that with such a price tag some people would be against a permanent move for kent as it is a totally different ball game for us to pay that money compared to English teams paying it.

18.) 06 Aug 2019 10:17:35
So far we have spent very little on players this transfer window and while better than what we had last season the majority of the players signed on free transfers are nothing more than squad players. If we are to win the league and make serious progress in Europe we still require a couple more quality players and that will cost money. Whether we should sign Kent at £7m is open to debate but that is the level of player we should be looking at. We should also be looking to sign a quality striker to play alongside Morelos, not to replace him. It will be a long season and if we progress to the Group Stages in Europe then we are still short of a quality squad.

01 Aug 2019 14:28:37
Well that's the first part of my prediction come true (we will sign Kent for £7m once we remove some of the deadwood) . I see the real valuation now being reported is £7m and not £12m. Depending on shipping out the relevant persons we will be signing Kent before the window shuts! Believe me or not!

1.) 01 Aug 2019 17:31:49
No we won't gerrard already said it's over for kent.

2.) 01 Aug 2019 17:41:59
Let's say it's true, spending just under 25% of your annual turnover on ONE PLAYER would be madness in your current situation. Kent is a fine player but he still has some developing to do and what if he got a long term injury. It's like us spending 25 million on one player, absolutely not going to happen.

3.) 01 Aug 2019 18:44:58
Forwarded the same info almost 2 months ago but the fee was closer to 6 mill, either way was never anywhere near the 12 mill the press claims.

4.) 01 Aug 2019 18:45:56
on loan only option. no way is he worth 7 million. he was just mentioned as player of year can't see him repeating that so value highest it ever will be. love kent don't get me wrong but not at 7 million we need to shop smarter 3 players for that money.

5.) 06 Aug 2019 10:20:43
Why not look to strike a deal with Liverpool to buy Kent for, say £5m, paid over two seasons with Liverpool getting 50% of any future sale proceeds over an above the £5m. That would be a good deal for both clubs given that Klopp does not appear to want him.

Gerrard saying on the Scottish sun that we played well and individual errors cost us the game. What game was he watching? Rangers passing was awful, the tempo was too slow, that team were there for the taking tonight if we had pressed them and played at a high tempo with Stewart in place of Ohno and Flanagan or some kid from under 10's playing at right back.

1.) 04 Oct 2019 10:28:29
Left hand side of team, middle to front were poor tonight (Kamara and Ojo) . Barasic bailed that side out and my Mom.

Ojo, like Kent, is young and makes the wrong decisions BUT the MASSIVE difference early season last year (pre Kents Celtic Goals etc) . is the defensive workrate.

Example tonight being that the YB left back broke into the box early 1st half and Scott Arfield covered him whole way back. opposite side, Kamara and Ojo joggers.

Similarly when Jack went off injured, Arfield moved back to Jack's position.

Don't blame Tav for 2nd goal. 1st one, just boot ball out for throw in.

Think a few players are carrying knocks and will benefit from International break.

2.) 04 Oct 2019 14:28:18
Please don't put Ojo and Kent in the same sentence its an insult to Kent.

03 Oct 2019 19:55:17
Rangers were poor tonight. I recall Jock Stein saying, "if you can't pass the ball son your no good to me". And Rangers passing at times was awful. Tavernier and Ohno were shocking, and the former has put an end to Rangers qualifying from the group. What is Ohno doing out there? I'm at a loss to understand.

1.) 03 Oct 2019 20:02:58
Ohno brilliant😂😂👍.

02 Sep 2019 09:14:05
Rangers were beaten by a better team on the day, but they were helped by SG tactics, setting up in defence mode from the kickoff. We were never going to score with the team we sent out, and if you don't score the best you can hope for is a draw. Missing the pace and trickery of Kent and Candeias, had they been playing then Celtic would have been pushed back, and the weaknesses in their defence would have at least been tested.

I have now seen Aribo and Ojo attempting to play centre forward at times which is nonsense. Defoe is showing his age, was a great player, but his touch at times is poor, a sign the legs are gone. We can make excuses for this result, but we struggled to break down St. Mirren last week, so the signs are there. Cannot see us winning the league this year as the transfer window is shut and we are not good enough.

1.) 02 Sep 2019 09:57:48
As much as I'm disappointed with the result. We only have player on the Free market. Which have looked OK but not to compete to stop 10 in row. The only player who cost money was center half sitting on bench. SG can't change a game. his tactics are rotten. Us fans always get to excited. We struggled against St mirren. definitely in from the start how many off side. Got to look forward and upward. We need to spend money on quality not jyst fill gabs. Plenty gaps. Could be bye bye 55.

2.) 02 Sep 2019 12:39:41
Only Davis and Flannagan showed up yesterday they let Christie and Forrest quite rest a the team bottled it.

31 Aug 2019 08:11:09
I posted on here many times that Rangers would sign Kent if we qualified for the group stages. I hold my hands up and admit I was sadly wrong, clearly not going to happen now. I guess it's just too much money for Rangers to pay for one player. I still think he's worth every penny, and a great investment, and one day he will mature into a great winger and be sold for a lot more than £7m. Still holding on to faint hopes that we can somehow do a deal with Liverpool.

1.) 31 Aug 2019 10:44:37
It would be nice if Kent signed but with two seasons in Europe I'm happier Rangers are making money for the future if we get into the champions League even for one season then we will be financially ok cause two years in the Europa League is upwards of 12M and CL is 25M so by 2020 we could be in for 35M+ made.

2.) 31 Aug 2019 12:05:32
We have an unknown legal bill to pay against Sports Direct. Best play financial things carefully. Jordan Jones is looking promising anyway.

3.) 31 Aug 2019 12:24:40
Yea with sports direct still hanging
Over our head and it could be any figures up to 10 mill
Also we have grezda could be another 2 mill down the swannee
Plus the 3000 seats we are losing
It always seems to be one step forward and two back.

4.) 31 Aug 2019 12:54:14
Macbow, where have you heard we owe £10million to Sports Direct? Press saying it’s 3/ 4 milo?

5.) 31 Aug 2019 12:57:29
where are you getting the any figures up to £10m macbow?

6.) 31 Aug 2019 13:43:43
I think for any scottish club to make the champions league proper would be a massive achievement. With teams like ajax and porto (who got knocked out) going in at the 3rd qualifying round its very difficult for us or celtic to make it. It would have to be a very favourable draw during the qualifying rounds to even be in with a chance. Europa league is our level although the champions league would be class. 👍.

7.) 31 Aug 2019 14:37:41
European football has been ruined by the so called bigger teams and their greed and fear of the English Prem money.

It's f**KED! Football is at a crossroads. Again the so called bigger teams seem to think you and I want to see the same teams constantly play each other in Europe. The sooner UEFA make Europe 3 or 4 Leagues with promotion and relegation the better because the CL is sh! te. The Europa League is becoming stronger due to the exclusivity of The CL but does not drive the revenue required to stay competitive. We are being thrown the scraps from the table. Its degrading and despicable.

{Ed001's Note - and all of it came about thanks to Rangers and Celtic and the formation of the SPL. They changed the way football was run and everything has come from their example. Greed is good began with the Old Firm.}

8.) 31 Aug 2019 14:03:04
I don't know the exact figure
But Ashley US looking at loss of revenue plus he thinks he is in for a large share of all sales
Then there is the legal, fees
Like all on here we need to get this guy finally off our back
I hope it's not more than 4 mill
As that would near all our revenue from, europ.

9.) 31 Aug 2019 16:25:02
@ Ed001 sorry mate you really have to explain that one. How is this all down to rangers and Celtic exactly?

{Ed001's Note - the creation of the SPL was down to the Old Firm wanting a bigger percentage of the money in Scottish football. The model that they used is the same model that the EPL and Spain's La Liga and now European football is following. Scotland, as you have in a lot of things in football, were the innovators. Just this time it has not turned out to have such good consequences. If anything the EPL has been less greedy in their implementation as they share the income more equitably than the rest, much to the chagrin of the 'big' clubs.}

10.) 31 Aug 2019 16:51:05
Ed001 I think you misunderstand me. I actually have no issue with the English set up particularly the pyramid system, although when clubs are in trouble I think more can be done.

The issue I am talking about is the Munichs, PSG's Dortmunds, Madrids and Barcas who are envious of the EPL and it's colossal revenue from global TV money. The current CL format and proposed changes to introduce a third comp ( Europa 2 ) is to increase revenue for these big clubs out side of EPL. They are envious of the money being earned and the threat of another few season of English dominance. UEFA is changing the format to stem the pressure of a potential breakaway. It's nothing other than greed on their part.

The only issue I have with English game is the money being spent on players, that's damaging the game.

{Ed001's Note - I wasn't having a dig mate. I agree with your comments. I was just pointing out the money obsession started because of the change to the SPL which was credited for Scottish teams' doing so well in the 80s, despite the small population. If all of these competitions shared income more equitably everyone would benefit.

And I am not a fan of what UEFA have done at all. They are ruining football by trying to keep the big clubs happy and stop them running off to create a European super league.}

11.) 31 Aug 2019 17:10:21
I know your not having a dig mate.

I'm not sure where football is going on a European sense, but it ain't looking good for The Scottish, Portuguese, Dutch, Belgian, Austrian and Scandinavian countries alike.

The fan is actually being short changed not spoiled. This system is typical of life, there is the Super rich, rich and then all of the rest, feeding off the scraps.

Cheers Ed.

{Ed001's Note - it is heading towards a group of clubs breaking away mate. They are holding regular meetings and UEFA are just fighting a rearguard action instead of just thinking of what is best for the game itself. The fans are the ones that will suffer.}

12.) 31 Aug 2019 21:12:53
Fans of non “super” clubs should boycott the champions league, EPL etc. Refuse to watch them on telly till the bring back the fairness, starting with making the “Champions” League for champions only. Sorry Ed, I know you are a Liverpool fan but the tournament lost its last remaining shreds of credibility last year with two teams who hadn’t been champions for decades.

{Ed001's Note - it lost it the moment it admitted non-champions.}

13.) 31 Aug 2019 22:45:46
I can’t stand watching PSG, Man City etc for me this is not what football is all about. Sure there are big clubs and small clubs that’s the nature of the game and naturally big clubs require more revenue than small clubs to function but what Sky and the super rich club owners have done is to ruin the game. Gone are the days when Rangers, Celtic, Hibs, Aberdeen, Dundee United Notts Forest etc had a chance of winning a European cup and that’s sad as who wants to watch the same wee group of elite super rich clubs fighting out the quarter finals semifinals and final its boring. I don't watch Champions league football.

14.) 01 Sep 2019 01:43:22
I agree with swagman 100%, champions League should be for league champions, I'll never understand why second place in England is straight in while the champions of Scotland have to play qualifiers, it's all wrong.

15.) 01 Sep 2019 07:14:35
Macbow its definitely 2 steps forward 1 step back not the other way around.

20 Aug 2019 08:42:29
Guys how can I watch Legia match? Tried watching East Fife using VPN but was declined! Its madness to stop UK supporters paying to watch this game when its impossible to travel to Poland. Why do Rangers refuse good money that they badly need?

1.) 20 Aug 2019 09:31:11
Get a decent android box and watch any channel you want. Handy for obsessed fans of other clubs too.

2.) 20 Aug 2019 09:42:40
Get iptv if you have a smart TV u will get all the channels bud.

3.) 20 Aug 2019 09:46:58
VIPBox always has links.

4.) 20 Aug 2019 10:21:04
Muppet, as far as I know Rangers TV sold the rights to Polish TV to show both matches live. This being the case Rangers TV will not be losing money.

5.) 20 Aug 2019 10:32:25
You will be able to watch the legia game you couldn't watch east Fife because BT had the rights to it. Rangers have the rights to the legia tie I believe so you won't need a vpn.

6.) 20 Aug 2019 11:00:49
You WILL need a vpn to watch it on RTV. Although I would suggest you pay for one, they are super cheap like £2.50 a month and can be cancelled at anytime. I get people saying go for IPTV but personally I prefer to give Rangers my money.

7.) 20 Aug 2019 11:02:56
IPTV is the way to go. 👍.

8.) 20 Aug 2019 11:12:08
I got a great stream in middle if north sea for last thurs and east fife game. Either hesgoal or youtube. No vpn.

9.) 20 Aug 2019 12:22:13
rangers tv does not require a vpn and money goes to club?

10.) 20 Aug 2019 12:23:49
east fife was on rtv.

11.) 20 Aug 2019 13:21:47
Thanks Guys . big game on Thursday!

12.) 20 Aug 2019 14:22:07
You will only need a VPN for legia on rangers tv if a broadcaster has bought the UK rights and is showing the game I. e premier sports. If not you can watch it directly on rangers tv PPV I've done it for Europa qualifiers already.

13.) 20 Aug 2019 18:28:59
Get an android stick type vipbox Rangers TV it must be silck browser it works 9/ 10 I've watched on that many times.

14.) 21 Aug 2019 00:01:03
Was iptv guys.

Cannot understand why Ojo alia Ohno would suddenly turn into a decent player just because Kent is playing on the other wing. You either have it or you dont, and Ohno hasn't got it. He is an okay player but not great.

As1974 your spot on "we don't have enough attacking midfielders". This is why we are not creating enough goal scoring chances. If you struggle to score (which we have done in almost every game this season, barring the game against a weakened Aberdeen) then you are probably scoring on average 1 goal which means the opposition only need one stroke of luck, a moment of genius, or a defensive error (like Tav) to go home with a draw at least. Its not rocket science its simple fact.

What people forget is that Walter Smith spent over £50m on players in his 6 years in charge, money that recent Rangers managers could only dream about, and as I recall, when he left Rangers we were in a poor state and on the way down. The team value was no where near £50m when he got out.

Don’t thing gerrard needs to win anything to prove himself. He and king have brought this club back from the brink and people forget where we were just 3 years ago almost defunct and out of business so three cheers to gerrard who has improved the team on the park with limited funds and a massive thank you to king who saved the club from oblivion. If we win nothing it’s understandable but what a turnaround and I take my hat off to king.

Coldo is right ojo is a weak link and if we want to win things we need to be strong in all positions. Pointing these things out does not make one an inferior supporter what is the point in pretending all is rosey when it’s not.

SGLoyal don’t disagree with anything you say and all strikers including the very best miss sitters at times but there are a few that were easier to score than to miss I’m thinking about the Columbia one and a few like that but he’s improving and his work rate is superior to that of many top strikers so that’s a big plus. I wonder what he could do if he wasn’t so isolated at times due to the lack of support from an attack minded midfield. Perhaps he would be sensational.
