before I answer we won 1-0 don't you know. just in case the sleighting of one of our players gets in the way of the result.
however I heard the price was £20 million or was it £30M or was it £8 with add on. or is it that no-one really knows as the fee was not disclosed. but whatever it was, he didn't ask for it or set it.
oh and I am happy to let the club and manager decide how much time they are willing to give him. but he had a 3 year contract so until we pay him off or someone buys him he is our player.
I would also suggest he was playing as Miovski was injured and Danilo according to posts on here earlier isn't a number 9 so YC was the focal point the team had for the game. was he perfect then no but he is improving under Rohl and his lay offs and bringing players into the game was good.

FYI I will take scrappy 1v0 wins right through till end of season, however if our 8-10 mill striker, was contributing the odd goal here and there, perhaps it would instill some confidence in the team and we could relax a bit and enjoy the rest of the season.

As much as I am revelling in their woes, and loving every second of it, I urge caution.
What exactly have we done this season that has contributed to their implosion? Not one thing! We couldn't beat them at Ibrox! They knocked us out of the cup! And they're still 6 points clear of us in the league.
A tim supporting mate messaged our group last night regarding the euphoria amongst us Rangers supporters regarding their Hampden humiliation yesterday. What he said was correct. He basically said that we had fallen so far, that we are now riddled with small team mentality, where we need to rely on other clubs doing to them what we wish we could do ourselves, in order to get one-upmanship. He's not wrong, is he?
How depressing is it that we are in such a woeful state that we still can't lay a glove on them, and we need to rely on others in order to get our kicks?!
Of course, it won't stop me celebrating their demise, and laughing at their entitled fans as they implode. However, the harsh reality is that our standards as far down in the gutter, we'll jump on anything to celebrate their hurt, even though we've done the square root of sod all to contribute.

I was simply pointing out that even though our biggest rivals are blowing it big time, we have not contributed one bit to this. Unlike the past where we used to put them in there place, and hammer one more nail into their coffin each season, we now need to rely on others in order to get our one-upmanship over them. they beat us in the cup but they didn't win the cup so that result was fairly meaningless really. do they get a trophy for beating us in the semis?
at the moment we are 17/21 points in last 7 since Rohl took over and they are 15/21 in same period using last result from BR the results from the great MON and Nancy results. we are winning despite not playing well and they look like they couldn't buy a result since Nancy came in.

What's the thinking on January additions. Say we recruit in key areas and say 2 out of 4 hit the ground running. Ideally all would. Is it enough to give this squad a new impetus to go and push on in the league? If that mob hold on to nancy bhoy a really can't see it going any other way than south.
Hearts on the other hand have handled their position really well. Mega interesting season this where every team in the league other than Rangers the sheep n Celtic look decent n are hard to beat. It's good for Scottish football but dusnae benefit us 😅.

If we can move players on then we need 2 centre halves immediately and then a striker.

Agree need a LCB, have never filled that since Hellander and Bassey.
A centre mid to replace Rothwell / a no6.
A creative winger is needed.

A left back would be good to at least start getting some perm defenders in.

The answer is no. Not 2 to go with 3 we already have, I think we'll look to move 2 of our 3 on. Infact I think all 3 are up for sale and Rohl would happily move all 3 on and replace them with 2 now and 1 in summer.

Stevie sorry I will reword my answer. I don't think we will get 7 new players as we already have a squad of 25 or more. I think this will be more to try to get more out of the squad we have rather than replace. Unless that is we sell a few of the players who are contributing and then we would replace like for like.
if we do get rid of players such as Dowell and Matondo I don't think they will be like for like replaced.
I think/hope the days of rip it up and start again are gone. we need rot develop what we have even if that takes time.

I agree re le Bris but look at Frank at Tottenham as the counterbalance to that. Le Bris also had a full pre-season with his squad as well to build systems and patterns of play whereas Rohl has only had a day at most between games; and he has had to get rid of all the rubbish Martin coached into them.
so I think improvement is what we are looking for and I think most would see that. just needs to get rid of all the stupid individual mistakes now.

cheers as I know the stats don't always give all the detail. I didn't look at his form before the injury but just thought that it is sometimes better to let them show they have recovered first. so perhaps one for the summer once he has done that.

Maybe even manage to offload Cortes in the opposite direction.
