What's everyone's thoughts on who we'd like to be part of Danny Rohl's backroom team at Rangers, as many names have been mentioned and many have been former players who get it to what's required and the mindset Rangers players should have 🤔Of course they also have to be able to coach as well as knowing the expectations our players need to have 🤔 We've had names like lee mcculloch, lee wallace, ian mccall,
steven Davis, barry Ferguson, kevin thomson, robbie neilson, neil mccann,
mo ross, billy reid and so on 🤔My choice would be neil mccann, but would be very difficult getting him to leave Kilmarnock as their manager, to take up an assistant job under Danny Rohl🤔 However i do think if we did go for mccann, it would only happen imo if mccann was given assurances that the Rangers head coach job would be his if/when Danny Rohl eventually moved on, obviously having been successful 🤔I honestly think mccann has the coaching ability and mindset to be the Rangers head coach after Danny Rohl as he ticks all the boxes for me ie.he's a very good coach, very sharp tactical football brain, he absolutely knows the expectations of our club, very good with young players, a very successful Rangers winger in his time who would demand this in his players, has the correct attitude and mindset to succeed at Rangers and cope with the pressures that come with one of the very biggest jobs in Europe🤔🇬🇧 Looking forward to all our posters getting involved on their choice to come in and work as Rohl's assistant and their reasons for choosing who they'd want/choose 🤔Over to one and all 👍🇬🇧

I don't think McCann will leave Killie.
31 May 2026 11:09:44
Billy Reid, what be an excellent choice.
31 May 2026 11:18:03
Billy Reid would be my pick as well, Yourtheman.
31 May 2026 11:26:48
The way McCann was going on yesterday, he loves being at Kilmarnock. He's not leaving a manager's role to be a back up to Rohl.
31 May 2026 12:03:57
Why would McCann give up first team coach to perfystevie Smiths role?
31 May 2026 13:44:55
Does Rohl not already have a backroom team in place?
31 May 2026 15:32:31
Billy Reid for me is a must.
He ticks every single box and some.
31 May 2026 15:33:26
Aren't they looking for another addition Ehl?
I heard they were looking to add someone.
31 May 2026 16:05:23
Gazza wasn't that before Stevie Smith came in though. That Scottish club linked ex player was him, I thought. There was the rumour that the assistant manager was leaving, but that hasn't happened either, unless I missed it. So, think EHL is right, he already has his team.
31 May 2026 23:33:09
Should have kept McCann to help out Danny.
01 Jun 2026 00:35:16
I'd have McCann in there in a heartbeat. However, McCann is forthright and opinionated. I think Fergie valued this as a positive. Would Rohl want somebody like this, or does he want 'yes men' in the team?
Additionally, does McCann want that job? Whatever the outcome, I back Rohl, but he will be under the same pressure as previous managers if results are lacking come October/winter.
01 Jun 2026 05:58:54
Billy told his pal Rangers havent spoken to him as of about 2 weeks ago
Get Naismith
01 Jun 2026 10:15:21
McCann isn't giving up his role to be Rohl's assistant. He shouldn't be offered Rohl's job either, as a sweetener to take it when he leaves. The next man in must be there on merit. I wouldn't be against Davis or maybe Arfield as an assistant to the other coaches. I thought Smith was staying put? Has he reverted back to his previous role?
01 Jun 2026 10:31:13
I don't think anyone these days just wants yes men. Why have a team if you ain't going to listen to them.
01 Jun 2026 10:41:13
Tom, seriously Naismith. You can't be serious. Him nor whittacker cut their ties with Rangers forever. Good riddance to both of them.
01 Jun 2026 11:47:12
Davie, I still think Rangers fans've been unfair on Naismith and co. They came to Rangers for football reasons and left for football reasons as we couldn't give them what was promised.
People looking to blame them are way off the mark in my book.
Rangers knew what they were doing.
31 May 2026 00:30:15
There's a video of Davie Cooper every touch versus Brazil at Hampden in 1987 just come to light today. It brings a tear to the eye. What a player.
31 May 2026 12:04:15
Great watch, one minute he's playing left wing then centre and then right wing. Brazilians having to double up on him at times, says it all really.
How many chances did Scotland waste in that game!!

Would like to give everybody who posts a wee shout out and of course the eds for keeping me entertained these past 8 weeks. I had a bad fall at work and broke my femur but have just been told i will be out of traction tomorrow and home on wed/thursday fingers crossed so i'm jumping for joy (not literally lol) its been a mind numbing month and a half but checking in hourly has been a true god send. Best wishes to you all

Hopefully the news is good this week, Manicblue. Sounds very painful and will take a long time to get over. Take care.
01 Jun 2026 13:41:00
Good luck, Manicblue.

Seen a few posts linking us to the lad from Aberdeen Milne.
Tbh I've not seen him play a great deal, but in the games I have seen I've not been overly impressed. Except from his height, I'm not sure what else he offers?
Does anyone have any info on what kind of defender he is and how much he would likely cost, and even if the lad is interested - moving from Aberdeen to Rangers has never been easy.
31 May 2026 06:37:47
Milne at Hearts is a better player. Can't see us going for the Aberdeen lad, he's been pretty poor this season.
31 May 2026 07:27:37
Jack Milne is a modern day centre half who is comfortable on the ball, good in the air and can play in a back 4 or a back 3.
I'd say he's better than Graham in pretty much every department.
He's not slow, but his pace is the only thing that stopped larger clubs moving for him at a young age.
However, as he's gained experience, his reading of the game has improved and helps cover this.
Aberdeen value him at around £5m.
Another poster mentioned he can play in the midfield, but that's not something I've seen or would expect.
31 May 2026 08:46:34
Peter Milne of Hearts can't play ch.
31 May 2026 12:12:01
He is exactly the type of CB we should be trying to attract in. Not sure I'd rate him at £5m but could see him going for a lot more than that in 3-4 years time.
31 May 2026 15:34:48
Is it not Milne of Hearts we're after, lads? Rather than Aberdeen?
01 Jun 2026 11:50:48
As I said before, he is one of the players I highlighted before Jan window. All his stats trending upwards, improving all the time, would be the type of Scottish signing we should be making.
30 May 2026 11:36:10
Howwazthat.
I'm with you 100%. Some people have different opinions and that's ok but I share your sentiment. We should have signed them before now. Over the past decade we have thought nothing of signing players for 4 or 5 million we have never heard of that have never played in our league.
Only my opinion but I for one think there has been snobbery (not so much from the fans) about buying the best players in our league.
30 May 2026 12:11:16
We were never paying the £2 million+ for a squad player at that time.
He was never getting in the midfield in front of Davis, Kamara, Jack, Arfield, etc.
30 May 2026 12:50:57
Aberdeen would never have sold him to us unless we offered crazy money, which we weren't in a position to do at the time.
30 May 2026 18:02:14
Did we not pay 2 million for Juninho Bacuna around that time? He wasn't even a squad player in the end.
30 May 2026 20:27:48
Bacuna just over 500k.
31 May 2026 00:04:48
Think we might have made money on the Bacuna deal?
But, agreed, at the time we were linked with Ferguson, we had a strong midfield, although I think it was more the Lundstrum era - but still he might have not started, but we should have, and always be thinking about a succession plan for when players move on, which most do after a couple of years.
It's always easier to let players leave if we already have their replacement in the building already.
01 Jun 2026 11:51:52
Again, though, there was no up front fee with Bacuna, was it not all performance based?
29 May 2026 12:57:10
I'd take devlin if he is a free agent. I like his wee bit of nastiness. Especially for the spl.
30 May 2026 10:32:39
Would take him on a free at the right wages.
01 Jun 2026 10:41:49
Devlin would be red carded more often than not if he wore a Rangers top.
