I sincerely hope the club are signing at least one centre half. Manny Fernandes is nowhere near the standard

Really looking forward to seeing penrice today.
A player I really rate a lot.
Hope we can get a right back now and a centre back with a lot of experience n that will be the back line sorted.

He was excellent today, Stevie. 👍
That lad has not come here to play second fiddle to anyone.
16 Aug 2026 18:20:53
He certainly hasn't, mate.
Rommens is a top player too, but if Penrice can maintain that level, Rommens will struggle to get back in the team.

Fifty 6,
You won't be getting shot down by me, it's your kind of posts I like
Whether it comes to fruition or not it's still enjoyable to try work it out and think about the possibility of having much more striking options
So here's my guessing
English based one, Ryan one?
American based - Kelsey?
Scandanavian based - Mikkel Ladefoged or could it be. Someone like Amin Chiakha?
Interesting post bud, keep. Them coming

What humiliation is set to befall us today I wonder?
By a happy coincidence I will be in the air so will miss the spectacle with my own eyes. First game I will have missed in decades, but the apathy is really beginning to set in and I ain't bovvered.
I hope something changes, I really do, but this hope we have season upon season wears you down.
Anyway, good luck, we need it
16 Aug 2026 15:57:41
I don't think like that.
I draw a fresh line in the sand and go into every game with a positive mindset.
16 Aug 2026 17:28:15
"I ain't bovvered." Never. No better how tough things are, the next game is always the most important.

With Engles going for 22 million and couldn't get into the Belgium squad, surely we must expect Raskin to go for 25 million as by default his country thinks he's the better player.Does anyone ITK been made aware of any bids for Raskin what is going wrong here.
16 Aug 2026 13:52:19
Not really, as they play completely different roles and Belgium had strength in depth in the role Engels plays.
16 Aug 2026 17:03:31
We've been expecting bids for 18 months.
He's absolutely Bang average.
16 Aug 2026 17:45:27
Like it or not, they are different players playing different positions, and FM valuations mean nothing in reality.
16 Aug 2026 11:17:17
Remember the days when we used to look forward to match days.
16 Aug 2026 13:26:23
I look forward to coming home and travelling to Ibrox. It's been a long time thou since I've looked forward to what's being produced on the pitch.

I have heard of these days Sir Struth. I would like to experience them. 😭

I was just looking at the squad values on Transfermarkt and comparing ours with the teams we've played.
Dundee United — £11.83m
Jagiellonia — £27.10m
Hibs — £19.90m
The teams we're about to play:
St Mirren — £6.23m
FK Jablonec — £14.40m
Rangers are currently at £130.15m.
Interestingly, Celtic's squad value is £13.65m below ours, believe it or not.
The point I'm trying to make is that the value for money we're getting from our squad is absolutely horrific. In my view, these figures highlight that our recruitment department simply isn't performing to the standards it should be.
Obviously, the Transfermarkt values won't be 100% accurate, but I don't think they'll be too far off either.
I know this is probably a well-known issue, but seeing the actual figures laid out like this really puts it into perspective. It's quite staggering when you consider the level of investment involved compared with some of the teams we're competing against.
16 Aug 2026 11:13:21
If you think about it, our value would be based on Chermiti, Raskin & probably Fernandez & that would be about £40 to 60 million, then the rest add up. I'd say those values are bs too, as imo St Mirren's squad value would be as high as Dundee Utd.
16 Aug 2026 13:35:56
Or they are actually performing against one of the other parameters by taking players we buy and increasing their value.
And using squad valuation to judge how one individual game should go is flawed anyway. There are countless reasons why a team might perform below its overall level in a particular match.
If you apply the valuation argument consistently, then apart from last season, we have generally finished second, which is exactly where you would expect us to finish, given that Celtic have had the more valuable squad, higher turnover and greater overall spending.
You can't really have it both ways. Either you accept that teams with lower squad values and turnover can still beat teams with more resources, or you accept that, based on the same argument, we should expect to finish second every season. You can't use squad value to explain why we should win when it suits the argument, and dismiss it when it doesn't.

I stopped reading that reply after "Or they".
16 Aug 2026 15:46:24
Bottom line is. Currently, we, as a club, are totally inept in every department and in everything we do.
