Rangers midfielder Billy Gilmour is set to sign for Chelsea ahead of his 16th birthday on 11 June, having rejected the offer to stay on at Ibrox.

All the best if he goes, I hope he doesn't regret the decision down the line.

1.) 29 Apr 2017 10:43:42
I really hope I'm wrong, however, I feel he won't reach his potential by going to Chelsea. He's just another 1 of the many many talented kids on there books who spend more time on loan than anything else with very little chance of breaking into first XI.

2.) 29 Apr 2017 11:21:11
Hate to say it but going by the Glasgow Cup Final, he's nothing extraordinary. Tidy, but not exactly the sensation he's being portrayed as. I'd call it 'Pogba syndrome'.

3.) 29 Apr 2017 14:43:24
I really hope your wrong? Why he's jumping ship for a pittance I really hope he ends up at Leyton Orient

4.) 29 Apr 2017 15:26:56
We can't grumble at the reported 500k tbh

5.) 29 Apr 2017 15:29:50
He will be another Ryan Gauld. who? Good riddance if he doesn't want to give 2 years to Gers.

6.) 29 Apr 2017 15:30:17
RR watched him in the youth cup final as well didn't exactly stand out to me either mate.

7.) 29 Apr 2017 15:26:52
Shouldn't be the only one leaving Ibrox. Need a clear out. Take whatever cash we can get for any of them.

8.) 29 Apr 2017 15:35:25
Well said glasgow ranger if he doesn't want to play for us he can leave.

9.) 29 Apr 2017 16:26:10
We get this same string every 3 weeks. The boy and his family are making a major mistake, but if he goes then he does with our best wishes.

10.) 29 Apr 2017 17:10:33
You said that he was leaving before his 16th Birthday and then followed up by if he leaves, so Which one is it? you kind of contradicted yourself there, also i'm am sure unless the rules have changed in the last week or so you can't sign a professional contract until your 16th Birthday so Again that isn't possible which makes me think your guessing all though we all know he is Joining Chelsea by now or should I say Chelsea reserves under 20s or MK Dons on loan cause we all know he won't get anywhere near the Chelsea first team and surely himself and father both know this too but Unfortunately as usually its all about the money as both Gilmour and his family have had there minds turned by money houses and cars all put in on the deal just to rote in the reserves, it s a joke and getting annoying now taking are and other Scottish Clubs youngsters when they are nowhere ready for there first team, Why?

11.) 29 Apr 2017 18:24:57
the pish i saw produced today and were debating billy gilmour let's address the fact our clubs a joke top to bottom we've a squad of gutless imposters we have a manager who can't learn from his mistakes our clubs in a bad place

12.) 29 Apr 2017 18:51:28
Read posts that weren't posted before 10 in the morning and aren't about Billy then Colshy, there are plenty on the banter page addressing the pish on the pitch.

13.) 30 Apr 2017 07:41:27
Saying he didn't stand out in the cup game when he was playing lads 5years his senior is a bit daft. In the u17s he bossed the game and teed up a great goal. The kids a talent, no doubt about it. And is clearly one of our most valuable assets in getting us 500k (pick a 1st team player worth that much right now! ) and once he is sold on for a few mill we will get a small cash injection. A good bit of business for us in my opinion. Plenty more fish in the sea

14.) 30 Apr 2017 07:58:54
Billy should go with nothing but best wishes. It will be tough to stand out in a place like Chelsea but to wish the boy bad luck is harsh as he is just that. a boy remember that guys, just a kid who has probably been advised by loads of people to make this move.

Give the lad a break and wish him well.

15.) 30 Apr 2017 10:05:18
Good luck to him I'm glad we're getting 500k as he didn't boss the 17s game he done one or two good things no stand out it was the Celtic kid who's brother plays for the first team that scored and bossed the midfield

This is what BBC have just posted regarding our interest in Joe Garner:

"Rangers are sniffing around and they want to take Joe Garner, " said Grayson after Preston lost 2-1 to Fulham on Saturday. "We are not looking to sell.

"We don't want to sell anybody but every player has a price. "

Ibrox manager Mark Warburton has been keen to add another striker to his squad.

And he said after Saturday's 2-1 Scottish Premiership win over Dundee: "We are looking for a number of players. We're looking for a striking option and a defensive option. Hopefully we can make some progress in the next few days. ".

Rafbob

1.) 13 Aug 2016 21:04:48
Rafbob, I truly hope we will sign joe garner but I honestly feel he will be too expensive for us to buy, he only just signed a new 3 year contract with pne last season meaning he's still 2 years left on his contract, they will want over the 1 million quid mark for him and I honestly don't think we'll pay that, hope I'm wrong as he looks good and would do well with us especially the way we play and the chances we create.

2.) 13 Aug 2016 21:10:31
Warb15, I agree with what you're saying.

Been getting the impression that we are happy to enquire but with very limited funding for a while now.

Hopefully we can make an exception for this lad and a decent C. B.

3.) 13 Aug 2016 21:11:13
127 apps 49 goals . Do we think that's a good return? I'd take the lad as I think up here he'd rip it up as he's an out and out striker!

4.) 13 Aug 2016 21:39:56
It is a goal every 2.5 games; not a bad goal rate if you look at the level he's playing, I know it isn't premier league but it's better than SPFL standard.

I share your view that he'd do well up here Blackwoodbear.

5.) 13 Aug 2016 21:43:01
Rafbob, W15, given we have limited funds I think it better if we push the boat out on the CD position. Based on everything I have seen we now have a critical need for a quality central defender.

6.) 13 Aug 2016 21:52:07
I can't see us paying in the excess of 1 million for a player.

7.) 13 Aug 2016 21:59:50
Fd, your are 100% right but it looks as though we are further into this deal than any other.

Hopefully a C. B is quietly being sorted behind the scenes and they will announce it soon?

Not holding my breath though lads.

8.) 13 Aug 2016 22:29:31
BWB it's a better goal for game ratio than waghorn had.

9.) 13 Aug 2016 23:35:16
Worrying times ahead then if we can't stump up a million for a player.

10.) 14 Aug 2016 00:47:16
Think he'd be a good signing. I think some money has been there for players but we've been smart with the freebies n can spend money or cf and cb.

11.) 15 Aug 2016 11:25:07
how much would bougy be he said he wants back and is better than anything we have also kyle bartley is estimated at just under 1 million and that boy impressed me when he was here especially when he went through brown!
I think baougy is out of contract and bartley has a year left I think we would be better getting those two paired bougy is only 33 which I think is good for a cb and they both have good pace and can read the game.
its not a rumour its just an opinion!

12.) 13 Aug 2016 22:28:59
He cost £2/ 3million. So rules us out.

13.) 13 Aug 2016 23:54:53
I honestly don't think we have a a centre back lined up.

09 Apr 2016 15:15:12
Waghorn still not fit for the match tomorrow or next week.

Missed the game today, from what I've read I am gutted I missed it!

Good attendance, I am gutted to be away as I'd have happily put my uniform on to go and watch that!

Well done Rangers and well done for supporting the armed services. 👍.

Rafbob

1.) 10 Sep 2017 08:55:29
Well said Bob we always do them proud. As an ex black watch soldier I know there are certain ones I society that don't appreciate the job done by so many. Proud as always to be a Ger, an ex serviceman and proud of all those still serving. Well done rangers class as always

2.) 10 Sep 2017 10:47:35
Gary - Sadly there are even some political leaders nowadays in Britain that appear anti the armed forces.

Great day yesterday and long may these occasions continue at Ibrox.

RANGERSFC XI: Foderingham, Tavernier, Alves, Cardoso, Wallace, Candeias, Jack, Dorrans, Windass, Miller, Candeias.

Rafbob

1.) 19 Aug 2017 14:17:37
Come on Rangers! 🔴⚪🔵 I have a feeling we will start strong and fast, get a quick goal and hopefully a few more will follow, IF we can just find a way to keep that level up and not slack off

2.) 19 Aug 2017 14:20:42
Candeias is that good there are two of him! Haha.

Hopefully we will get an early goal an keep the pressure on for the 90. No reds would be a bonus as well! 👍

3.) 19 Aug 2017 14:38:03
Young Hardie on the bench, would love the boy to come on and get a goal. Neither Hierra or the young Potuguese winger included in match squad.

12 Aug 2017 18:08:26
That red card killed the game for us in my opinion and I can't believe that they finished the game with a full team!

Move on to the next game, they will drop down and we will finish the season in second. Get behind the team. The media slate them enough without us adding to it.

Rafbob

1.) 12 Aug 2017 18:40:45
Bring it on. This type of result against us will only make the team stronger. Never seen a ref that bad in all my life, Hibs had 12 players today. 11 v 11 we were and are better. Just watched Pedros post match interview and you can sense the total rage bubbling just below the surface. Beaton was show the footage after the game and we will appeal the red card and if I was him would be asking for retrospective action against Stokes when he could have done some damage to Tavs neck. i'm not disappointed, i'm f*&%*ing angry. i'm sure I only feel 1% of what the team and manager feel so there will be a reaction to this. To the rest of the SLP and haters out there 'your going to need a bigger boat'

2.) 12 Aug 2017 20:16:44
very often, teams down to 10 men actually can get stronger IF THE MANAGER USES THE RIGHT TACTICS. Pedro's tactics are little white mints he keeps in his pocket

3.) 12 Aug 2017 20:33:21
Well said TJBB totally agree. I do think Pedro should have had another midfielder on at 60mins though. Too late for the sub after then.

06 Aug 2017 15:23:00
A win is a win, that league table won't stay like that for long.

Frustrating that we didn't get a couple more, Motherwell played that like a cup final!

The team looks good but we will see how they perform when faced with better sides.

Rafbob

1.) 06 Aug 2017 15:49:52
I think Rangers hung on like it was a cup final rafbob. Early days i know, but i don't see anything that would worry Celtic at all. Should be a good battle for 2nd place right enough IMO.

2.) 06 Aug 2017 16:16:44
Yeah @bhampot I'm thinking Aberdeen will beat u guys to 2nd place . only here to see the rangers u are

3.) 06 Aug 2017 18:21:12
I'm not biting Bhampot, you can't honestly say that you think Motherwell will play much better this season.

Second place will be ours this year and I'm hoping to take more away from the games against your team.

Our team will only improve when other players who were out today take part. I'm an optimistic person 👍.

4.) 06 Aug 2017 18:57:33
I honestly think more to come from both teams raf, Motherwell were good by last seasons standards, like Rangers, its a new squad. Not looking for a bite today, i think the league will be tighter after Celtic at the top. I don't expect Celtic to go dramatically downhill as i don't expect Rangers to suddenly start breezing by games. The gap won't be as big points wise, Rangers may even get a win in one of the derby matches or a cup tie between us. But overall i believe Celtic are too strong at the moment for the rest.

5.) 06 Aug 2017 19:01:11
Jcgers, is your post in regionalised text, or are you in fact Yoda.

6.) 06 Aug 2017 19:15:28
Bhampot, very reasonable assertions. I would take second place and delaying Celtic's title party till the Split.

7.) 06 Aug 2017 19:30:54
I might be pot man but your still a bam

8.) 06 Aug 2017 22:33:58
Lucky to win, very edgy. But a win is a win.

9.) 06 Aug 2017 23:20:07
Got to agree with a lot of what Bham says tbh. that's the way all teams will play against us because they see us as a scalp so the players better get use to it. thot we were good 1st half bit the 2nd half hold up play was garbage. early days but Herrera has a lot of convincing to do

26 Jul 2017 17:05:19
TEAM ' @watfordfc v Rangers FC XI: Alnwick, Tavernier, Cardoso, Alves, Wallace, Candeias, Dorrans, Jack, Windass, Miller, Herrera.

I prefer the fact that Pedro was honest and said they have no future at Ibrox.

It may result in us getting slightly less for them IF they generate interest and are sold but they need to be moved on either way.

These players we have loaned and sold did nothing of note whilst wearing our colours and as soon as the pressure is off and teams play openly, they are suddenly "amazing" and our manager has made a massive mistake?

We have a team and they will get good results without guys like O'halloran and Forrester.

Everyone has the right to state their opinion mate, what you are saying isn't wrong.

Pedro will hopefully have his team working and winning for the remainder of the season.

I am in the "give him a season" crowd and I genuinely believe that he can improve things if given the time and support from all involved at the club.
