People's thoughts on Cummings potentially signing in the summer?

Apparently a deal was agreed last season, until the cup final fiasco put things on hold. Apparently has a release clause of around 2m or something close to that. Would 100% pay that, sell O'Halloran and Waghorn to recuperate the money lost.

He's a top finisher, scored more than anyone in the last 2 seasons, albeit in the championship. Yes he's a bit of a prat, but you need personalities like that in a team.

1.) 25 Apr 2017 14:23:34
Too expensive not the type of player required. Wouldn't give them air never mind £2m.

2.) 25 Apr 2017 14:49:27
Cummings was crap against aberdeen
Too one footed for me.

3.) 25 Apr 2017 15:41:53
Boaz Cummings is better than what we have waghorn is the same so one footed but at least Cummings can finsh which we really need

4.) 25 Apr 2017 15:59:17
You think we can get 2mil for MOH and Waghorn?

5.) 25 Apr 2017 17:08:17
Cummings is a wee ned, he'd probably sign for a crate of bucky.

He can stay where he is as far as I'm concerned. There's someone better on all levels, somewhere.

6.) 25 Apr 2017 18:55:55
I think Cummings would be alright can't be any worse than the strikers we've got let's face it their pants bailed out week in week out by a older player at the end if his contract nearly his career how much folk thought the same about Griffiths being a Pratt but you need to buck up your ideas playing for the big two always in the lime light still think the transfer fee would be the problem

7.) 25 Apr 2017 19:22:44
Youve already answered your own question. He IS a championship player therefore we should not pay more than £500K max. I don't want him anyway. Lee Wallace was quoted as no more than £1m because of the keague he was in. After The Gemmell fiasco and the cup final we should have nothing to do with Lennys morons apart from gubbing them.

8.) 25 Apr 2017 19:18:12
same as waggy every one knows he wants to go to his left so they cover that angle and he is useless but they couldn't do that down in the lower league because there is much better quality up here.

he is a championship player at best and wouldn't even score half the amount of goals in this league.

9.) 25 Apr 2017 19:21:58
Give them a million plus MOH lol

10.) 25 Apr 2017 19:27:25
Definitely need someone who is a bit of a maverick not afraid to show for the ball and can score goals! £2million is a bit much tho would have to throw o'halleran or the like into the deal

11.) 25 Apr 2017 19:35:08
He's the type of player we need. A guy with an attitude, a character. He is far better than the likes of moult and Rooney.

12.) 25 Apr 2017 19:57:37
Cummings is a wee dafty but he is only 21 and is nowhere near as bad as riordan or o'connor at that age. He has the confidence and ability we lack infront of goal. I've wanted him at ibrox for a few seasons now, pleb or not i don't care

13.) 25 Apr 2017 19:28:46
Just an opinion, I honestly think that gap been the 2 biggest mistakes rangers have made. Not getting Cummins and not getting mcinnes from Aberdeen. Build your way back with people who know what the Scottish game is all about. Signed too many guys who don't know what it's about.

14.) 26 Apr 2017 00:05:05
Only way I would take Cummings and any other current SPFL player would be on a pre-contract Clubs up here will overpriced their players as they expect an offer from down South and would want stupid money from us and we simply do not have it.

I liked Crawford from Hamilton I think with the right surroundings he could kick on but Hamilton would want between 750k-1m for him when due to Club and Lge andthe fact your buying a possible talent then no more than 250k in which the press and media would have a go at us for trying to rip off poor wee Access!

15.) 26 Apr 2017 14:59:04
He's better than what we have, although i doubt Hibs would want to sell to us.

16.) 26 Apr 2017 15:50:22
only way i'd say yes to cummings is if he came for a straight swap for garner or waggy or moh infact take waggy and moh for him right now.

he isn't what we need in my opninion and is very much overated but i'd like to get better than waggy in and he is slightly better

17.) 26 Apr 2017 16:08:22

18.) 26 Apr 2017 16:12:31
I'd take Cummings in a heartbeat. Along with moult. I don't care who he plays for. Be a great partnership. Along with the experience of Miller. Be a great forward line. And one which wouldn't cost the earth. And by the way you can keep lafferty and naismith. Their time is long gone.

19.) 27 Apr 2017 13:33:25
china bairn are you serious? right now you would have cummings and moult, but would say no to naismith.

honestly lafferty is a dumpling, but naisy and steven davis are way above what we have at the moment. i wouldn't say no to them just because they didn't want to take a 75 percent wage cut.

Curtis Nelson, the Plymouth captain who is out of contract has been spotted with Weir and Mcparland at a cafe and seen being shown round Ibrox.

Great signing if all goes well.

1.) 18 Jun 2016 17:46:05
I posted the same thing but after some twitter back and forward it actually looks like Marriappa.

2.) 18 Jun 2016 17:51:42
It's him or Kemar Roofe.

3.) 18 Jun 2016 17:53:52
Hope not.

4.) 18 Jun 2016 17:54:09
Seems to be right enough. Would be a decent player.

5.) 18 Jun 2016 17:59:46
I was just about to write this haha.

6.) 18 Jun 2016 18:07:42
Yeah i think its mariappa he got pictured.

7.) 18 Jun 2016 18:09:26
100% Adrian Mariappa look at his beard that gives it away lol, he's a defender, not seen him playing though, he any good?

8.) 18 Jun 2016 18:10:33
Pretty sure it was Marriappa I saw today.

9.) 18 Jun 2016 18:44:09
I have no idea if it was true or not, but saw it and thought it looked like Nelson. I'd be happy with any of the 3, Mariappa is a premier league defender, Curtis Nelson is one of the best CB in league 2 and Kemar Roofe was fantastic for Oxford United last season.

10.) 18 Jun 2016 19:11:32
Where is the pictures you all seen.

13 Jun 2016 12:26:58
We're interested in Gwion Edwards of Crawley town, 23 years old, plays on the wing, 1 year left on his contract, fee of £200,000, or pre-contract agreement in January.

Scored 8 goals last season, in a poor Crawley side so would be a good bit of business for that price. Was on loan at St Johnstone in 2014 so knows Scottish football. Can't really see many negatives about this signing if it were to happen.

Danny Ings on loan is looking a serious possibility. You can say I'm talking s**t, but looked what happened when everyone said that to the guy who realeased the news about Barton.

Things are looking good.

COYRFC

1.) 15 May 2016 18:54:53
What makes you think that bud? What an addition he would be.

2.) 15 May 2016 19:02:43
I've just heard that he might be coming for a medical in the next 48 hours. Not 100% if it's definitely going to happen obviously mate, but we'll see.

3.) 15 May 2016 20:02:40
Why would a guy who could get a club in the premiership come to the spl?

4.) 15 May 2016 20:48:03
Cee look at Barton. I'm sure a few PL teams would have him and he's considering joining us. Anything can happen in footy.

5.) 15 May 2016 21:07:06
Cee ask Joey Barton and Jordan Rossiter mate.

6.) 15 May 2016 21:40:27
1.) Klopp has Firmino, Benteke, Sturridge, Origi already for the ST spot in a team that plays with 1 striker.

2.) Klopp will be bringing in players he wants, no doubt Benteke and Ings will be the players most likely offloaded.

3.) Klopp has reportedly 100m to spend this summer, he'll have to either loan out or sell some players to afford the signings he wants to make.

4.) Mcparland has very good contacts within Liverpool, giving us the upper hand in any potential deal in terms of competing with other clubs.

5.) I'm not claiming it will definitely happen, only passing on information I've heard. Besides it could be a 6 month loan to get his fitness up, considering he's been injured all year.

7.) 15 May 2016 21:23:48
Why cee. Because WE ARE RANGERS.

8.) 15 May 2016 21:48:21
To play for a top European football club, and to win 🏆 trophies and medals ? Before earning himself a big transfer, or going back to Liverpool as a proven scorer,? Not difficult mate? , why did gazza, Steven, Stevens, butcher, woods, falco, hatelely, and all the other major international players come to Rangers?

9.) 15 May 2016 23:30:24
TomTom you're right mate but guys like Woods Butcher etc came because English clubs were on a European ban.

10.) 16 May 2016 12:27:49
"You can say I'm talking s**t, but looked what happened when everyone said that to the guy who realeased the news about Barton. "

Because one unlikely thing may happen doesn't mean two unlikely things will happen, that's the gamblers fallacy.

I'd love Ings to join, don't get me wrong. but I seriously doubt it will happen, he's too highly paid and too close to Liverpool's first team, only way I see it happening is *maybe* for 6 months to help him get fitness after his injury.

11.) 16 May 2016 12:15:35
"why did gazza, Steven, Stevens, butcher, woods, falco, hatelely, and all the other major international players come to Rangers? "

Because they were offered top money - among the best in Britain!

01 May 2016 12:23:58
We're looking to sign Dominic Ball on a permanent or a 12 month loan for next season. Not sure if I saw somewhere that his contract at Spurs was up at the end of this season, but either way this would be a good move. I like the lad.

COYRFC

1.) 01 May 2016 14:50:01
well the news that's going about in dundee just now is rangers are trying to get ryan gauld on season long loan deal and greg stewart from dundee that's all iv heard and some goal kepper called daniel bentley iv never heard off him so i couldn't tell yous if he's a good kepper or not!

2.) 01 May 2016 16:15:09
Southend goalie.

3.) 01 May 2016 16:42:42
Can't see Gauld happening, if he does I'd be surprised he's a very big talent. We may well get Greg Stewart although I'm not entirely convinced on him yet, doesn't seem to be what we really need. As for David Bentley I can't see it happening, he's a fantastic Keeper, seen him quite a few times, I'm sure a few prem and Championship clubs are/ were after him. If we do get him he'd be our first choice.

4.) 01 May 2016 19:54:38
Coyrfc i think he still has a year left on his contract, if so he is either going down to tottingham to sign an extention or told he is being released, though i think he will be signing an extention to spurs as he is well thought of by them.

5.) 01 May 2016 15:02:04
Dom balls contract up but said hr want try get place in tottenham lineup if not he consider his options.

We didn't play well at all yesterday. However you can see Pedro had a game plan to try and score off set pieces and long throw ins. Just feel he got the formation and team selection wrong. Hopefully he will set up differently next weekend.

The problem is none of these players are his, need a summer transfer window before he can properly be judged. Everyone's saying we need a defence, they weren't that bad the midfield was the problem. Pedro has inherited a Warburton team where all the players are of similar physical stature and all want to play nice tika taka football. Yes you need 1 or 2 of those players in midfield to play 'nice' football; however Pedro needs to put the CDM position at the top of the transfer targets. A big physical no on sense type player who can also pick a pass. Secondly a striker or two. Once again all the strikers are too similar. I would go for Cummings and then look for a more physical striker who's good in the air.

Overall need to get rid of quite a few players: Kiernan, Halliday, O'Halloran, Garner, Waghorn

Top targets:
Cummings (apparently already agreed a deal)
Walker
CDM
CM
2 CB's.

COYRFC

1.) 24 Apr 2017 18:17:02
Pedro has to go 442 against them next week because he got it completely wrong and played straight into their hands by giving them space to run riot down both wings. I'd put hodson in at right back and push tav up to right mid. Possibly put Wallace (if fit) at left back and push beerman up to left mid so they can cover up on their wingers.

Halliday should be nowhere near the team. If he starts next week I will lose all of my trust in Pedro. Start Toral and Hyndman. Miller and Dodoo up front.

2.) 24 Apr 2017 18:57:18
For the life of me, i just can't see hibs selling jason cummings to rangers! I personally don't want him and think there's better quality than him out there! I stand to be corrected but i'll say here and now that jason cummings WILL NOT be signing for rangers!

3.) 24 Apr 2017 23:33:10
Cummings - oh god please no!

23 Jul 2015 18:26:42
Allan asked to leave Hibs this afternoon, could very well be a Rangers player before the game against Hibs on Saturday.

COYRFC

1.) 23 Jul 2015 18:43:36
I would say, will be unless they stand firm as I think we will up offer if need be but not to a stupid amount.

2.) 23 Jul 2015 18:56:39
I would love to believe it

13 Jul 2015 14:38:18
Holt training with Rangers today, probably will sign this week/next week. Eustace, proving his fitness, likely to sign. Wabara looking more unlikely, with the two Spurs boys coming. Not sure about Whether we're signing a striker, think MW is going to see if Clark can prove himself; MW got a good record of improving lower league talent E.g Gray (ST), Pritchard (LM). Hardie has been promoted to 1st team, so possibly explaining why no striker. Halliday will sign this week I believe aswell.

People need to chill about signings, got a few weeks until season kicks off, no need to rush signings for the sake of it. Look what got us in a mess last time, splashing cash. What's the point in having a big squad with players on big wages IF we don't get promoted this year. MW doing it the right way, build through the youth system/buy youth, then slowly build the first team. Believe and everyone calm down.

COYR

COYRFC

1.) 13 Jul 2015 15:07:50
Two facts to consider. Our squad isn't good enough and we don't rightly have the patience to wait weeks, months or years to come good. I do agree with your comments about youth.

I read that Rangers' approach for Allan has been rebuffed and we now need to put that one to bed. So moving on from that I reckon Tom Walsh should be handed the chance to stake his claim to the position. He's going to be one of our best Murray Park recruits in years. We need a goal scorer, from where, I haven't a clue.

2.) 13 Jul 2015 16:15:41
It's all very well people saying calm down etc, we only have 2 weeks until the 1st competitive game, I wouldn't want just to sign anyone for the sake of it but we should've had our squad assembled by now, that way they can get to know each other & how each other plays etc, it looks like we'll be signing players just days away from our 1st game, we won't be properly prepared, I really don't care about the pretrofac cup & infact I would play our young boys. I would also say, the standard of player we're looking at doesn't excite me, at the moment it's going to be another long boring season.

3.) 13 Jul 2015 17:55:12
I think Callum Gallacher can bring goals.

4.) 13 Jul 2015 19:36:38
I would agree think Gallagher can do a job and get goals however we are still short of quality up front as Miller and Clarke won't score enough goals

30 Jun 2015 22:49:13
Wabara could be signing for Rangers permanently (2-3 year deal) in the next few days, IF he has a successful trial. Looking likely

I alppreciate you are sharing what you've heard. But there is absolutely no chance we are signing Yann Sommer he's one of the best keeper's in the Bundesliga, and would be worth around 15m let alone what wages he'd be on. If Rangers were to sign him it'd be some kind of miracle he's a brilliant keeper way out of our budget.

Wee Ally; McKay, O'halloran, (burt) and (forester) will play in the front 3, I put both in brackets as burt and forester have played/ play sometimes in midfield. I reckon Crooks will be used as a CB aswell as a defensive mid. Burt will get loaned out most probably. Windass, Holt, Haliday, Rossiter are our current midfielder's. Another 2/ 3 need to be added hence Dorrans, Barton and Kranjcar being linked. Barton would be my most preferred signing out of the 3, Dorrans is good be would command a fee, as would Kranjcar.

Holt and Haliday will not be gone. Law, Shiels (probably) , Zelelam (end of loan) and Ball (end of loan) will be gone. That's 4 midfielders needed replacing. (Barton) , Windass, Crooks, (Dorans) . Haliday is cover for LB aswell. No doubt Thompson will be loaned out along with Murdoch who might be sold. Remember we play with a midfield of 3 so we need the cover.
