Dowell, cantwell, lammers? If anyone thinks that they must remember a different player because my memories are things like a back healer v lyon right into the path of their on coming player and there was no attempt to retrieve the ball. Too many touches the opposite of why kamara should go. Kamara under pressure one touch stuff great but constantly pinging it away in an instant can put you back under pressure.

They’ve just won a treble of course they’re going to be favourites. Rangers could win the league but Celtic should win it. Consistency is key this season we have to win 30+/ 34 against the rest of the league and then at least 2/ 4 against them.

Going to be an interesting season.
I think we're rightly not the favourites at the moment, we have to accept that given we've done a massive rebuild, have an untested manager and have been second best for quite some time.
I know a lot of our fans think we've been "closer", but the bras tax is that Celtic have won 11 of the last 12 league titles (to our 1), 6 of the 7 since we got back to the SPL. 4 trebles from 6 and I can't even remember how many trophies overall to our 1 Scottish Cup.
We're going in the right direction, hopefully, but I won't be getting carried away given the size of the task at hand, despite many of our fans being quite flippant about how close or otherwise we are.
Second favourites to start the season is right I think. It's up to us to prove that wrong.

I think we have signed good players it’s getting the right combinations of players in the 11 in the best system that suits that may take time to find, time we don’t necessarily have with first OF and qualifiers coming fast. I feel we have upgraded with our signings though and will come good. Defence possibly an issue but if we manage to pair goldson and souttar there should be an uplift in defensive performance until any possible incomings strengthen.

I think a lot of people forget that us winning 55 had as much to do with Celtic imploding as us having a wonderful season (in front of no fans) . Saying it makes everything that came before it redundant is silly in my view.
I want us to win the league and I hope we can gel quickly enough to put up a good fight to do so, but if we have a good season and we can see the team moving forward I'm not in favour of discarding managers. I'm old, so I remember the 90's when they were doing that trying to catch us and had more managers in a decade than we'd had in our history.
If it goes horribly and we're going backwards, we can have that discussion, but if it's a close run title and we get pipped by good team having put up a good fight then sometimes that's just how it goes in Glasgow.

Totally agree mild there has been so much work needing done at training ground in stadium Edmonton house admin scouting dept youth dept 1st team etc we’ve had to rebuild a few times since coming back up we got it wrong a few times and now mb has just had to do a whole rebuild again. I think without a shadow of doubt as long as we’re competing with Celtic and give them a fight even if we lose the league in the end up it will be the manner it happens which decides mb fate for following season.
Say we win a cup lose the league by 4 points and get to Europa last 16 or 8 that’s a good season for Beale after all the turnover.

The likes of McCoist, Butcher, etc would have played with non serious niggles, but it doesn’t happen now with players, if they sneeze it’s a catastrophic problem. I can understand a player not wanting to cripple himself, but surely something should be written into his contract concerning constant injuries, reduction in wages after a certain period of time?

The problem is Mark44 - most managers don’t rate the Scottish league, they tend to be look elsewhere for players before offering small fees to Scottish clubs. If you were a manager yourself you’d look at the standard of the opposition, Celtic, Rangers, to a lesser extent Aberdeen, they are the only clubs that buy decent players and most of them are from abroad, Scottish club rules need to change to prominence at B least one home grown player to the team and play them ( if good enough of course ) . Other clubs bring in players from EL2, non league, Irish league, SPL has went down hill and it’s there for all to see?
