Rangers won’t spend a right now soo all this talk of spending millions isn’t going to happen …!, let’s get it right we are in debt…! players need to leave or qualify for the champions league group stages, we would be nuts to let any first team players leave before we have played the qualifiers, if and it’s a big if we manage it no one will need to leave and if they do we will be laughing because 100% of the fee they go for can go bk into the transfer kitty.

1.) 30 Jul 2021 06:27:32
What debt?

2.) 30 Jul 2021 07:14:25
NRD we are probably somewhere around 30 million in debt so I would imagine it's that debt.

3.) 30 Jul 2021 07:26:01
NRD, Willie is probably right. It’s well known that we’ve needed ‘soft loans’ from the directors to make it through the last few seasons. Luckily as they are being converted to loans most of it will never need paid back as such. But that’s a situation that can’t continue and that has been stated many times by the club. It’s estimated that we will run at a loss of around £14 million this year at least. That money will need to be made up from somewhere. As Willie says, if we make it into the champ league proper that will go a long way to doing that, but the board have also already stated that going forward our model will be to bring in players for small fees, develop them and hopefully sell on for much higher, so it’s likely we will lose one maybe two players this summer whether we make the champ league or not. So yes, there is still debt and it needs to be managed.

4.) 30 Jul 2021 07:40:29
We won't know until accounts are published Wullie but I would think we will be running at a deficit again don't invisage a huge outlay without selling. The fact that we're not selling hopefully means we don't have to. I think John Bennett has said we're not under pressure to sell but it's part of the business plan. It wouldn't make sense to sell at under what we value players if we don't have to. As you say if we get into the champions league our player value should also go up being in a bigger shop window and possibly sell then.

5.) 30 Jul 2021 08:32:22
We have almost nor debt!

We have been running at a loss for a good few years but all of these losses have been covered by soft loans from directors.

Most of these loans have been converted to shares leaving virtually no debt other than current soft loans that are likely to be treated the same way.

The board have been very clear to every fan who chooses to listen rather than soak up and believe the headlines.

Our aim is to become self sufficient this year or next but not at the expense of stopping progress - we will spend big money where it moves e club further towards a strong and stable financial or footballing position - stadium improvements, new developments or new players.

Of course we will have to sell to raise funds but only if it fits into the plan and does not hinder our progress.

6.) 30 Jul 2021 09:31:58
Do Rangers not owe money to Close Brothers?

7.) 30 Jul 2021 09:35:25
Correct and accurate DK.

8.) 30 Jul 2021 09:48:48
Agree with DK19, our debt is loss mostly revenue from no match day earnings last 18 months. Mr Bisgrove has brought in money via the partnership deals and all credit to him. We have also spent money on upgrades to Ibrox and Auchenhowie. The new projects will cost, however they will regenerate money and become profitable.
We are in a much more stable position than across the city. Did anyone notice that they had a secret share issue last season raising 7.5 m to keep their books looking good, thing is they never told their fans only the directors who bought the shares….
I trust our board and think going forward the club will financially go from strength to strength…….

9.) 30 Jul 2021 10:39:43
We have no debt.
The investors are converting their loans to shares so as it stands right now we have no debt.
I said that a bit tongue in cheek as I’m not that daft that we cannot rely on investors pumping money in without a return. We need to sell players for huge sums to allow us to be be self sufficient or qualify for CL.
It’s one or the other but we have no debt so to speak.

10.) 30 Jul 2021 10:42:40
Big it’s no they don’t.

11.) 30 Jul 2021 10:43:07
Well, I would hope your post was clear enough DK, but you know how it is! Don't believe the hysteria, or be taken in by the negative spin which is meant to cause confusion etc. Listen to what our board says and nobody else. Yes, we can't go throwing millions about on different players, but nobody can in Scotland. If we need to sell so we can invest in future players, that's good business. The club is being run well, and with the backing of our wealthy fans, merchandise, season ticket revenue, numerous sponsorship deals etc we are well on course to meet our objectives!

12.) 30 Jul 2021 10:57:56
I agree with what everyone is say but what I’m getting at is I can’t see us splashing millions on any signing until players leave or we make the group stages of the champions league most rumours are click bait online and a wouldn’t believe a thing the papers write, Gerrard is keeping him card close to his chest they will move when the times right.
#56 is on its way.

13.) 30 Jul 2021 11:17:54
Wullie I think every single one of us know we can't constantly rely on investors.
However I do believe we have a business model that we are working to.
Remember this season is a £35 million league. I'm sure if we really needed to sell one or two to balance the books we would. I fully trust the people in charge.

14.) 30 Jul 2021 11:42:32
Big eck not sure about that any share issue would have to be notified it would be a hard one to keep secret.

15.) 30 Jul 2021 12:19:24
Yes totally agree 55 . no share issue or soft loans as would have needed to notify market.

16.) 30 Jul 2021 13:29:23
Agree that most of our debt jas been converted into shares but only so many time u can do that we simply can't afford to lose between 10-15 million every single season. This will be the 1st year the gaffer has not spent a decent wedge. I don't think we will spend any money other than compo for mccann. Weve taken in 2 players sakala amd lundstram on frees which is great business. But unless we make champions league or a big asset is sold were never buying veerman.

17.) 30 Jul 2021 14:14:03
Guys, check their books, they returned 7.5 m on a share issue to directors, effectively its a loan, however the loan was repaid to them in shares.
They did not notify fans, it’s money into their account from existing directors, no need to go to stock exchange, they just created more shares.
Check out the BBC Scotland Slayer on Twitter 6 th July or YouTube, listen to podcast ……also it’s in their accounts…. Believe me they are struggling, hence them trying to offload as many as they can, please don’t give me any nonsense about DD being a billionaire etc and will dip into his own pocket, he has never put a penny in without it being paid back, he gets £440,000 every year in a perpetuity agreement since he loaned them 8 m in 2002. Also he became major shareholder with his consortium at same time as they gave him shares for investment. Anyway it’s not about them, we are on right track with our board and our management team and our players. Onwards to 56.

18.) 30 Jul 2021 14:25:52
Paul it's all conjecture until the accounts are submitted and published. I'm assuming that we would have sold if we had to. We want to sell from a position of strength to make sure we get decent value. As for the Debt we have no/ little debt in the traditional sense and converted from soft loans but do we not have C.V. tax and payment increments to pay on certain players?

19.) 30 Jul 2021 15:21:57
A lot of that debt was due to player purchase ect would expect us if not bringing in players to be running around a 5 million loss think that will go down to 2 million in a year or 2 as the losses were due to the big rebuilding job.

20.) 30 Jul 2021 18:46:51
Paul we were never signing veerman anyway and I said at the time would be a great signing but won’t happens.

21.) 30 Jul 2021 19:15:47
Big eck they've got a lash of share procedures on companies House for 2020. Could nt be bothered looking through them. I've said on here quite a few times that C.V. will level us financially.

There's too many variables for us to say if it's going to be 5 or 30 million deficit it's await for the accounts and see. But I was a pessimist regarding it and I'm becoming more and more confident well be ok and can survive in an ok shape.

22.) 30 Jul 2021 23:42:09
We're in roughly 19m debt. The figures were released a week or 2 ago. CL money would clear it and sort us.

23.) 31 Jul 2021 08:47:38
Tjrfc where do you see that?

15 Jul 2021 19:46:51
Divock Origi Being touted for a move to us if Morelos leaves only problem is his wages but could come to get first team football, what a signing he would be.

WullieRFC

1.) 15 Jul 2021 21:46:55
Don't want him he just looks awful when playing.

2.) 15 Jul 2021 22:22:05
I don’t want him anywhere near us IMO he isn’t a good player.

3.) 15 Jul 2021 22:59:11
So I don’t think he is a bad player. however I feel everyone remembers him for that one magical goal from the corner in the champions league. That is his one career defining moment. Other than that personally I think he’s over achieved having played for Liverpool but feel he was never good enough to have made the cut
Personally I don’t think the wages for him would be worth it
Just my opinion.

4.) 15 Jul 2021 23:28:37
Scored a brace against Barcelona and got the winner in the CL final wonder what it takes to impress some guys?

:)

5.) 16 Jul 2021 00:56:29
Where is report to say Origi is being touted to us not seen one single report of the sort.

6.) 16 Jul 2021 06:08:42
Rangers News Now.

7.) 16 Jul 2021 06:50:47
He isn't a good player? 😂😂😂 let's be brutally honest here. I love alfredo but there's no danger he's amy where close at the moment to going to a side amd scoring in the champions league final.

8.) 16 Jul 2021 07:30:52
Tjm Tony watt scored against Barcelona should we buy him as well?

Paul just my opinion I don’t think he is a good player now I could be wrong as I have been before on players but I don’t rate the guy.
It’s maybe because I watch Liverpool a lot and when he plays which is not often he doesn’t do anything and klopp never plays him thru the middle either so it could be that.

9.) 16 Jul 2021 07:46:14
Origi’s a decent big player, he seems to have the ability but for me perhaps lacks interest at times when I’ve seen him. Just a wee bit lazy. I really liked him when they signed him but he’s never been gave a proper chance, and to justify such a high fee for a kid is difficult aswell. He’s sure paid them back with important goals though u can’t deny that.
Not for me personally, but he could shock us all given the chance.

10.) 16 Jul 2021 09:03:55
Thought I heard Coops scream just now.

11.) 16 Jul 2021 09:47:31
Stormtrooper tony watt scored against Barcelona a decade ago on his way to getting pumped oot, origi's double against them was only 2 years ago and he went on to score for the winning team in the final😂I understand that some people will disagree with the rumour but you can't compare origi to tony ****in watt 😅 been mentioned above the origi is 'living off 1 goal against Barca' but isn't that what tony watt has done his whole career🤷‍♂️.

12.) 16 Jul 2021 10:59:54
I didn’t compare them Gunn at what point did I say tiny watt is as good as origi

I was the majority of Liverpool games as my son is Liverpool daft and anytime I have seen him he has been poor klopp doesn’t even play him thru the middle and he is a striker what does that say?

It’s only my opinion and I am entitled to it, if we sign him and he is great then I’ll be the 1st to admit am wrong.

13.) 16 Jul 2021 11:31:50
Divock Origi.
Striker or winger?
59 goals in 284 matches or a goal every 229 minutes he's on the park.
23 assists in 284 matches or an assist every 589 minutes he's on the park.
Not exactly prolific on either stat. That could be down to his limited game time?
Though for the weekly wage he would command / expect, I'm wanting better personally.

14.) 16 Jul 2021 11:36:07
Origi can stay put where he is, never seen anything in him to see him being any good, would rather have el buff every day of the wk. Morelos would do better at liverpool thn origi believe me 👌💙💙💙.

15.) 16 Jul 2021 13:26:17
Origi is pretty much nailed on to be leaving Liverpool this window. Naturally we will be linked with him due to Gerrard but i'd imagine that wages and whether we qualify for the champions league would be huge factors in any potential move. Be a queue of Premier league teams interested in him as well so whilst we may have an interest, i doubt we could tempt him to come up here.

16.) 16 Jul 2021 13:33:26
MpH he is a striker but he is not trusted to player there by klopp and plays on the wing for them we he does play.

17.) 16 Jul 2021 15:22:46
Well his assists for a winger aren't great either, Kja?

18.) 16 Jul 2021 15:47:25
I would be very surprised if we signed origi his wages will be huge and for what he would cost we could get better. Its all click bait and with the rumours of alfie moving to porto all but dead i'd rather keep him than origi as he knows our system and has every defender in the spl in his back pocket.

19.) 16 Jul 2021 16:51:39
Mph I know I don’t rate him tho to defend him a bit he doesn’t get much game time on a constant basis.

20.) 17 Jul 2021 11:33:08
I think the problem with him is he doesn't get a run of games. At Liverpool he is seen as a squad player. If he signed for us he would be first choice. I have seen a wee bit and he looks good technically and can finish. I think he would thrive up here and would offer us something different.

21.) 17 Jul 2021 12:20:34
It hasn't worked out for him at Liverpool but that doesn't make him a bad player and his game could easily improve under Gerrard, especially with the benefit of our coaching staff.

That said, there will be teams in England willing to pay more than we would even consider while at the same time meeting his likely wage demands. For those reasons I don't see him coming to us even if Morelos is transferred.

22.) 17 Jul 2021 22:27:49
Loads of good players fail in the premier league would need to be on 20k a year or less for me doubt he would take that but.

23.) 18 Jul 2021 17:35:47
There’s no doubt he has ability but the jury is about regarding consistency the stats don’t lie.
Do I think he’s capable up here yes I do but not worth the huge wages he would command or loan fee unless we made group stage of Champions league then I would happily add him for 12 months and take it from there.

14 Jul 2021 14:30:55
Zinedine Ferhat Should be signed on the dotted line by the end of the week.

WullieRFC

1.) 14 Jul 2021 15:50:31
Another midfielder, surely not unless we get boy from Eridivisie with great assists and decent goal record.
Zinedine Ferhat is statistically v poor, might be decent but as a number 10 I’d be surprised if he was on our radar.

2.) 14 Jul 2021 17:47:42
I think that Ferhat looks a real menace, sometimes stats don't always paint a true reflection.

Aww how good was that today seeing them crumble again.

WullieRFC

1.) 01 Aug 2021 09:35:54
So so good. Even better the fact the guy they let go and replaced with a £5m dud was the match winner it’s comedy gold. Big Gordon is a quality keeper they must be sick.

2.) 01 Aug 2021 09:53:37
Aye I would bet C Gordon was saying to himself "get that right up you's ya pr**ks that'll teach ye tae dump me".

And rightly so.

3.) 01 Aug 2021 12:20:08
Soutars goal in the 89th minute was pure dead brilliant, it just won me £140.

4.) 01 Aug 2021 17:03:41
I done 2-2 but definitely diddnt want that mob to equalise ☺.

5.) 01 Aug 2021 19:25:01
Gordon really should be Scotland goalkeeper for Quatar.

6.) 02 Aug 2021 00:19:26
Agree John, Gordon is streets ahead of Marshall.

14 Jul 2021 06:32:13
Is it me or is this transfer market seem like it’s been going on forever, clubs need to get a move on and get there offers in for our players so we can get more movement in the market or it’s going to end up players leaving with no replacement then us being knocked out the champions league before it’s even begun.

WullieRFC

1.) 14 Jul 2021 09:00:12
The transfer window opened on the 9th June and closes on the 31st August.
Rangers moved quickly at Xmas to bring in Wright and Simpson to integrate them into the team for this coming season.
We also snapped up Ofoborh on a pre-contract.
This summer we have already signed up Lundstram and Sakala.
So that's 5 players the management have deemed good enough to improve the squad.
Others like Greg Stewart and Zungu have left.
With possibly Barker, Jones and Edmundson deemed surplus to requirements.
We've brought in 5 with possibly 5 leaving.
Our better or more sought after players will only be allowed to leave if club valuations are met.
We then might see additional quality replacements, especially as we strive to improve and become a CL team.

2.) 14 Jul 2021 09:11:59
Like for like signings as Simpson is no better if not worse than big George and Ofoborh is the new Zungu.

3.) 14 Jul 2021 10:10:57
No one seems interested.

4.) 14 Jul 2021 10:13:02
In making a bid.

5.) 14 Jul 2021 10:24:52
That would be an ideal scenario BlueWouldDo.
That way we can keep a hold of ❤️ Morelos 💙, Kent, Kamara, Goldson and any other of our prized assets.
But our top performers will always have suitors. It just depends of other clubs can match Rangers valuation.

6.) 14 Jul 2021 10:58:27
Ofoborh hasn't even kicked a ball for us and he's already under the bus 😁.

7.) 14 Jul 2021 11:28:14
I know Seeker. This site is mental at times!
I've never seen much of the 5 I mentioned but you've got to give them a chance?
Especially considering the markets we are dealing in - free or low cost.

8.) 14 Jul 2021 11:46:36
Simpson breaking through at Bournemouth was touted as a future england player. Think he will turn out a really good signing. I'm in the minority, that I have never saw what people see in edmondson. Just don't see a rangers level player in there at all unfortunately.

9.) 14 Jul 2021 12:11:01
MPH 👍.

10.) 14 Jul 2021 12:25:32
Sweep how can you say he is the new zunga when he hasn’t kicked a ball for us? You may well end up being right but your opinion on him right now is BS.

11.) 14 Jul 2021 12:34:58
Sweep talk about writing somebody off before they even started. oforbh has even trained with gers yet but in your eyes he's written off lol.

12.) 14 Jul 2021 14:13:56
Imagine what will happen if we lose or draw our first match - towels at the ready like last August.

Happy pills are free in Scotland, may as well take them.

Doesn’t make sense to loan out two CB defenders when Europe looms I think we need as many players available as possible if we are wanting to win the league and challenge for both cups aswell as play on the champions league squad rotation will be key.
