I like many on here question why big Goldson seems to be undroppable. However with that being said, if you actually watch the way he organises and constantly talks to players around him maybe this is why he seems to be the constant at the back. I really like Katic and Edmundson looks the part too but they are still very young in terms of centre half's and this may be the managers thinking regarding Goldson. Anyway top of the league and looking strong not just in our 1-11 but right throughout the squad. This just could be our year!

1.) 06 Oct 2019 22:04:14
goldson is like papac, does it so well so often u forget to pay attention.

2.) 06 Oct 2019 22:31:03
Del, I think his communication is the only reason he isn’t being dropped, it sure as hell isn’t because of his defensive displays. I actually wonder how much of a say mcGregor has in who starts in front of him, maybe he also prefers Goldson because they communicate well together and isn’t a language barrier? Just a thought.

3.) 07 Oct 2019 06:29:08
I think you could be right zikos but I would rather have big goldson than hawd it and dodit over at livingston yesterday big dykes bullied they 2 all day yesterday and they lost the plot when they didn’t get their own way they lost their discipline completely it was a joy to watch 🇬🇧.

4.) 07 Oct 2019 10:01:44
People are a bit unfair on Goldson I think. He has made some poor decisions recently but he plays well more often than not. He won't get it his own way every game. Same applies to Tav. He plays good more often than not but admit he has had a wee dip in form. Time to cut the guys some slack.

5.) 07 Oct 2019 11:58:00
Sometimes goldson's use of the ball leaves a lot to be desired, however he is an organiser at the back and this must be gerrards thinking. We are blessed with 4 very good defenders right now and when we pick up injuries we will be thankful of this.

6.) 07 Oct 2019 13:06:30
Goldson is a leader on the pitch and is held in great esteem by his team mates, Gerrard and me. We have 4 good centre-backs, only issue is giving them all game-time.

7.) 07 Oct 2019 13:50:43
Agree souness read big goerge singing his praises post match yesterday he seems to be the one that the other look to for advice help certainly george n niko almost like a mentor.

8.) 07 Oct 2019 14:29:25
Love the fact all the former goldson haters are now singing his praises 😂😂😂.

9.) 07 Oct 2019 14:45:48
Had some absolutely horrific showings last season also. His communication mayne keeping him in side. As footballer wise i currently have him 4th best centre half. honestly think edmunson looking class.

10.) 07 Oct 2019 16:28:16
Never once said anything positive or negative about Goldson on here. So who you calling out Brogie?

11.) 07 Oct 2019 19:45:25
Nor me either 🤫.

12.) 07 Oct 2019 22:41:09
Personally not a huge Goldson fan, think I would still try and find a better pairing between the others. Think he is pacy enough and decent on the ball but will always have a mistake in him and can easily be bullied off the ball. I think if you play Goldson then you always play Katic to give us the physical presence which Goldson lacks.

13.) 07 Oct 2019 22:45:58
Nor me, definitely think big niko is our best cb tho would be him n goldson for me.

14.) 08 Oct 2019 14:40:11
Not a big fan of Goldson, 3rd choice for me, Yes he scored on Sunday but still his decision making and ball delivery is shocking, Plus for such a big guy, He is easy bullied of the ball, But SG must see something I and some others don’t, Great result on Sunday especially with THEM getting beat, Onwards and Upwards, 🇦🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍.

15.) 08 Oct 2019 22:21:56
Think Goldsons problem is he’s constantly covering for Tav being posted missing and trying to deal with his mistakes. Often leads to him being out of position.

16.) 08 Oct 2019 23:45:54
inconsistent for me, been poor recently in general terms, but he can make some great diagonal passes if he has time on the ball just unfortunately he doesn't get time on the ball.

17.) 09 Oct 2019 12:34:40
Goldson wins every ball in the air rounds up the defence and actually scores a few in to the bargain lol does well for someone left in the lurch off our captain rapid.

24 Jun 2019 22:31:12
The signing of Joe Aribo shows how far we have come in the past few years. The thought of signing a player being linked with Arsenal and Man City just a few months back would have been laughable in seasons gone by.

We were fighting teams from the lower reaches of the Championship and Division 1 for players not too long ago. Now we are attracting not just experienced players like Defoe and Davis but young and upcoming guys with bags of potential. One more centre half and a back up striker and I really believe we have the squad capable of giving it a real go this season.

1.) 25 Jun 2019 09:32:18
Del2807 You are bang on. I have been banging on about 1 more CB and one more striker and we will be there. Just a wee note to the glass half empty brigade. PLEASE REFILL YOUR GLASS. STEVIE G KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING.

2.) 26 Jun 2019 13:19:59
I don't mind him going but would like a fee and sell on clause inserted in any deal cause i think the boy will come good.

Good to see Joe Aribo talk eloquently about the people who have got him to this stage in his career. Too often modern professionals forget how much time and effort other people put in to help them maximise their potential. It goes to show that if reports are true regarding the boy's ability, that we are also getting the correct profile regarding personality at the club too. Welcome to Glasgow Rangers young man.

1.) 28 Jun 2019 19:08:33
Haven't read it mate but definitely good to hear. Hope wee rat faced bowyer wasn't included!

28 Oct 2018 20:31:21
Some of you should support someone else if this pathetic over reaction follows every setback. This time last year we were getting humped off a team from Luxemburg and Motherwell in the cup. We were already miles behind in the league and had one of the worst Rangers team in living memory.

Gerrard has brought in 13 players and we sit just 2 points behind the tims in the league. People have short memories when you look at some of the great performances we have seen already this season. There will always be bumps along the way when rebuilding.

If in 2 seasons time, we have not progressed from here then by all means question the manager, but to do so after only his 3rd competitive loss is laughable.

1.) 28 Oct 2018 21:34:59
Not overall questioning our manager but a blind man could see at hampden today, that he should have made substitutions, long before going 1 goal behind! He should have had sadiq off at half time! Even when he did make the 2 subs, IMO it was the wrong 2,that stevie G took off! Waits too long to make subs and that's not just in today's game! Yet again another inept performance, in a big game at hampden! This is becoming far too frequent!

2.) 28 Oct 2018 22:29:38
Absolutely right Del. it's torture getting beat, but we are miles better off now than we were last year. I was once told if you have to make a change then make one change not 5 .

That's what our manager tried to do. A striker for a striker. Not move a few players about just to solve one problem. Unfortunately it didn't pay off. I'm not a lover of critisicing a Rangers player. so I will just say that I would be surprised is Sadiq is anywhere near the first team in the coming weeks.

3.) 28 Oct 2018 23:12:33

We lost to a team today who were utterly dreadful. It’s the worst Aberdeen team I’ve seen for a long time and we never tested their keeper. I think it’s more a case fans are frustrated that we couldn’t beat a very bad side.

26 Jul 2018 20:06:21
Ps. that's the first pre practised set piece I have seen working in a number of years. In Stevie we trust.

1.) 26 Jul 2018 21:54:01
Utterly hopeless. Wearing tragic training tops as strips.

2.) 26 Jul 2018 21:56:54
Tragic strips lol.

3.) 26 Jul 2018 22:42:11
we won 1-0 away from home in Europe and some of you are worried about strips.

4.) 26 Jul 2018 22:54:31
I know what's tragic sands and it’s no the strips.

5.) 26 Jul 2018 23:14:33
oh timmy still obsessed with everything that is rangers

you weren’t the guy who drove 8hrs in a foreign country to go to one of our games were you?

you need to get out more mate get a team get a bird get something mate

it’s funny but we still pity you.

Let me fire some names here to jog some memories. Billy Dodds, Rod Wallace, Mark Hateley and Nacho Novo. The common denominator here is that when we signed these strikers, not one of them was the big name expected or wanted by our supporters at the time. They were underwhelming signings as the support were after household names with bigger fees. Each of these guys went on to score barrowloads of goals for us. So maybe the signing we need doesn't need to be a Solanke or a Defoe but just someone who can do it in our league on a consistent basis. Louis Moult might not have set the heather on fire at Preston but may be the ideal option. He would be available at an affordable price and wouldn't command silly wages. The lack of flair would be offset by the wingers we have at our disposal. Couple this with a strong midfield and tighter defencr and we may actually achieve something this year. One player who consistently takes the chances in tight games will be the difference between challenging for trophies this year or not.

1.) 25 Jul 2018 18:55:55

2.) 25 Jul 2018 19:02:08
Mark Hately was an underwhelming signing?

Comparable to Louis Moult at Preston?

We tried to get the big man when he was at Milan and signed him off Monaco when they were one of the top teams in Europe. I was absolutely chuffed when we got him.

3.) 25 Jul 2018 19:08:27
Big lafferty would bang them in for us.

4.) 25 Jul 2018 19:27:31
lol mark hately was an england international and had played for big clubs.

5.) 25 Jul 2018 19:49:34
What I'd give for a Billy dodds now.

6.) 25 Jul 2018 20:59:15
I know tell me about it Geronimo At this minute we can only dream of signing this type of calibre Louis Moult shouldn't be used under the same breath as Mark Hately! No comparisons!

7.) 25 Jul 2018 22:04:06
Swap Wallace for Lafferty and bring in Moult. Both proven spl scorers and for less than 1M. Let’s Go 🔴⚪️🔵.

8.) 25 Jul 2018 22:14:59
Sorry. Hately was a big signing for us. All of them, including Hately, would struggle to score as many in this Rangers team, however.

9.) 25 Jul 2018 22:39:59
Alex Ferguson tried and failed to sign Mark Hately for Man Utd. An English international, he was hardly uninspiring!

10.) 25 Jul 2018 22:50:26
No lafferty. Had his chances. Big sadiq hasn't had chance to show us what he's got and with afield back fit crossing balls in for the big man who knows plus Lassana Coulibaly still to get a run out let's give Stevie's team a chance before we start shouting about bringing back ex players near the ends of their careers. Let's give this team a chance. let's GO.

11.) 26 Jul 2018 00:38:54
Del are you serious? Mark Hateley was an England international played with AC Milan then monaco and you think that was underwhelming?
Not sure you've thought that one through bud.

12.) 26 Jul 2018 07:15:19
Mark Hateley was struggling badly with injuries when we signed him it was seen as a gamble and yes some of the support felt it was too much of a punt signing an aging crock.

07 May 2018 17:58:21
I don't understand our fans buying into the press and pundits views that silly money is needed to overhaul Celtic. If you take the TOTAL transfer fees paid to assemble the Invincibles (Lol) then it would be under £20m. So how come to even get a team on the park to challenge said Invincibles, we are told will take £30m, £40m or as Commons came out with £70m. It's laughable. If you want to talk about biggest outlays on players then you only have to look at Pena, Herrera and Cardosso to see that throwing money about isn't always the solution. Let's just wait and see what Steven Gerrard and Mark Allen come up with instead of worrying how much the war chest will be.

1.) 07 May 2018 18:48:50
Its about replacement cost and player value.
Dembele £15mill. Tierney £20mill. Rogic £7mill. ARMSTRONG £5MILL. AJAR £7MILL. N'tcham £7mill. BROWN £5MILL. FORREST £5MILL. THERE IS £71MILL From our 1st 11. Want me to add in the bench and others and its £100mill. Do same with Rangers and its maybe £50mill. So the gap player for player is £50mill.

2.) 07 May 2018 19:14:44
Brown 5 million. Teirney 20 million. Ajier 7 million😂😂😂😂😂. What’s happened to Dembele he was worth 70 million Dembele dollars last season? 😂😂😂😂

3.) 07 May 2018 19:48:04
Rogc 3 mill Armstrong 3 mill ajer probably 2 mill brown no sell on value as he's probably only got 2 year left in him n he's feart to go to England because he'd get shown up for what he is. A reday card every 2nd weed if the refs up here weren't scared to card him

4.) 07 May 2018 21:44:07
JGG1, i never said Dembele was worth £70mill? Anyway you cut it Celtic squad is worth £100mill. Rangers maybe £50mill. Anyway you will find out what your squad is worth when SG tries to sell them as they are pretty hopeless. He will nerd to do something because he is not getting much from King and co. Tell you why, because you are skint!

5.) 07 May 2018 21:50:41
Virgil wasn't all that when he played according to most of your fans. Overrated and couldn't hack in a "proper league" now he's most expensive defender in the world

6.) 07 May 2018 21:59:51
I've never been on another club's website.

I have no interest in what they say to each other or what they think, or if they think!

But it seems like moths to a flame they just can't stay away from the Rangers fan forums.

Perhaps they are lonely.

They are certainly sad.

But whatever they are it won't change the fact that they hate us and we don't care!

7.) 07 May 2018 23:17:24
In what world is Brown worth £5m? Honestly think you should stay off the sauce if you think some of the prices you quote would happen

He can still purchase shares in order to keep his current percentage of the club. He owns 9% at the moment which is within the dual interest boundaries. Under the proposals though his stake would have been diluted by half to 4.5% with no option to buy more. But thanks to Mccoist and the likes this option has been blocked.
