Chris jack on twitter confirming a rumour about takeover and not denying it!
Anyone got opinions on weather the 49ers takeover would be a good thing or not? I don't know much about the intricacies of football finance.

Id like to know how we would benefit us considering ffp rules. If we already had to cost cut how for it how would having rich owners help this? Stadium sponsors? Red bull on the tops? i'm not sure it would benefit is straight away without breaching ffp rules but if we can find ways to get large amounts of cash straight away then its defoa great thing.

Leeds utd took 35 million in for a 17 year old youth project. Have made fortunes over past 3 seasons. Nothing to do with the owners money as leeds have been a financial success without them.

MuscatIn, there is a little confusion around what you've called FFP.
Uefa FFP rules don't prevent sponsorship from Associated Parties - this is a specific rule implemented by EPL (APT) that's going through a number of challenges.
Uefa has a an adjustment process (FMV) - so in effect they allow owners to effectively inflate sponsorship to inflate cashflow, but adjust this as part of their FFP calculations.
This would be hugely beneficial to a club in our position and significantly fast track our recovery.

The deal gives us the possibility of direct investment from the 49s; not the takeover as that cash goes to shareholders. but it also gives us access to a line of sponsorship companies the group would already deal with. They also use a line of technology which identifies talent based on data and stats for new signings. also links to 49s fans in US for kit sales etc.
the amount of money they can pump in the squad would be limited by FFP but as EHL says Fair Market Value allows them to inflate it as long as it is deemed reasonable. also the other sponsorship goes direct to our revenue and allows us to invest that in the squad. Our operating costs (not just wage bill) seems to already be heading for 70% as well.
there actually might be some truth in this as club saying they don't talk about this and keep it in-house. remember the last US one where they said straight out they rent interested in her money. change of tact in that approach.

Ffp rules only apply to Europe so we could get cash injection but we would prob sacrifice European position or we maybe get a transfer embargo but we could invest heavily for domestic purpose if we wanted to.

Rumour was we had an offer in the summer and he didn`t want to go so if he`s changed his mind and we can get rid of him we should do it. His all round game is terrible and his scoring record is only half as good as it should be . He will have spells where he scores a few and some of them will be good goals but his hesitancy and reluctance to shoot is who he is and he isn`t going to get any better.
Lets not waste another six months thinking he is the answer when its obvious that he is not.

Morning gents, I was looking through transfermarkt at Rangers wingers in the last 8/ 9 years and something that struck me was the complete lack of quality we've had.
Kent/ sima/ cerny to me are the 3 hight quality players and 2 of them aren't even our players. candies was decent for us but in a strange time.
Just for evidence i have g/ a average per games played for some wingers in that time period.
Kent-2.4
Cerny-2.0
Sima-2.1
Matondo-3.5
Wright-6.3
Mad diallo-4.2
Middleton-2.9
Ojo-3.0
Candies-2.4
How ever you like to see football being played I like 2 wingers that can beat a player get low crosses into the box and the odd goal. Thoughts?

I think part of the problem was our style of play relied on the 2 full backs getting up at providing but a good winger is essential to get the team up the pitch quickly actually good ball carriers are something we don't have.

Onewaltersmith - Garrard's style was very attacking full backs but since then probs since gio out full back don't contribute nearly as much, I personally think wingers playing high and wider midfield 8's attacking the space between wingers and striker and full backs tucking in narrow is the best way to beat a low block.

They'll cop out with things like he was holding for long or they didn't think he was getting to the ball, but we all know if it was a Rangers defender ref. would have blown for a penalty straight away.
