Forest fans seems to think they are favourites to sign Joe Aribo

Figure being talked about is nearer to £15 mil

They seem to think they have beaten Fulham and Crystal Palace to get him

Be a great fee and return on investment if true.

1.) 26 Jun 2022 08:22:45
Great money if true but why on earth would Aribo want to go to Forest? Whipping boys and back to championship the following season. I think we should sell Aribo this window, we need to freshen things up but I will be sad to see him go, I just can’t see it being to them and if Gio wants him to stay then I think we can provide a better contract along with European football and silverware.

2.) 26 Jun 2022 08:25:05
Would hate to see him go but if we can secure that price with a sell on clause very hard to refuse.

3.) 26 Jun 2022 09:01:30
Yeah I agree, it’s time if Joe moved on and thanks for his service ?✌️.

4.) 26 Jun 2022 09:28:08
Players that font sign new contracts need to be sold and replaced. We ain't in the financial position to let any player run down their contracts.

5.) 26 Jun 2022 09:38:44
If he is not signing them £15million is good cash could bank £5 million and spend the £10million bringing in 2 decent players.

6.) 26 Jun 2022 09:57:44
Cooper- why would he go to Forest? He'll be playing in the English premiership and will probably double his wages. What's not to like?

7.) 26 Jun 2022 10:04:26
This is true sweep. We allowed Goldson to do it, luckily he didn’t go for free. Others may not do the same. There must be a player trading model to generate finance otherwise what’s the point?

8.) 26 Jun 2022 10:42:32
Unfortunately Aribo has a 10 mill buy out clause in his contract this I know for a fact so any club meets that he’s gone.

9.) 26 Jun 2022 11:13:16
Baxter, he can double his wages staying with us as it wouldn’t break the bank, £14k pw is what he is on I believe just now. Play in the premiership, great for one season getting pumped week in week out and then they’re back in championship. I could understand if it was palace or Brentford to be back in London close to family and friends. Give up the chance to play in champions league for EPL mediocrity. None of us know what his true motivation and goal is, I am happy for him to go and if we get £15m from forest then delighted with that. I suspect he may want better for himself though. Time will tell.

10.) 26 Jun 2022 11:51:50
Cooper11, you are right, no-one knows these lads or their way of thinking, but they can all forget European football for the time being unless they sign for a top 4 club in England, it's their own career/ personal choice, we wait and see!

11.) 26 Jun 2022 12:41:00
If that were me, I'd be playing in the English premiership amongst the best players. Testing myself and pushing myself to the limit, with a better chance of showing my talents and earning an even bigger move. Oh and earning a lot lot more than I would in Scotland.

12.) 26 Jun 2022 13:45:30
It wouldn't be me Baxterboy because if i was good enough to play with glasgow rangers i wouldn't be going anywhere else from my side of things.

13.) 26 Jun 2022 14:12:29
And If it were me I’d extend my contract by 2 years, double my wage, win another title and cup, bust a gut to play in champions league, I would expect us to drop into EL after group stages and then a good run in EL again ? and earn a move to the best league in the world, La Liga.

14.) 26 Jun 2022 14:57:57
Coops that’s because you are a childhood fan most of these players aren’t and would rather be in epl.
I would rather be in epl playing against better players and more money only a fool wouldn’t IMO.

Where is it been reported 15 million for aribo as I have not seen anywhere near that amount.

15.) 26 Jun 2022 15:09:48
Walter what an absolute nonsense, Morelos aribo Bassey kent et al never supported rangers Morelos had not heard off us.

16.) 26 Jun 2022 15:45:51
Walter that is nonsense; if Rangers offered you 3k a week and someone came in and offered you 25k a week you would be away like a shot.

17.) 26 Jun 2022 16:35:31
I wouldn't because i would be playing for my boyhood idols pal so because you would do it don't assume i would or anyone else would on here for that matter.

18.) 26 Jun 2022 19:21:47
Walter the key point none off the players r boyhood blue noses.

19.) 27 Jun 2022 06:41:27
John25 agreed I'm sick of fans labeling players a Rangers man just cause club pay wages it's ?.

Lowry officially added to the mens team list for season 22/ 23

Well done young man, I think we will see him in at least 20-25 games this season,

Noting as well Ramsay/ Amad are still in there, I think they will both be back next season

The team lists are updated based on contract updates only.

1.) 08 Jun 2022 08:33:36
I would be very surprised if either were here next season. Ramsey or diallo cannot go down as a sucessful loan spell.

2.) 08 Jun 2022 08:46:30
Kent aribo etc will be on the list for 22/ 23 but if sold they will be removed the same as ramsay and diallo will be probarly when they officialy leave at the end of the month.

3.) 08 Jun 2022 09:05:58
Intr Diallo and Ramsey contracts ended 31/ 5.

4.) 08 Jun 2022 17:09:23
Dont want either back. Prefer Lowry to Diallo and Ramsey will want mega bucks to sign. Too injury prone.

06 Jun 2022 16:41:35
Interesting Cedric Itten, Leon Balogun and Andy Firth have all been removed from the official rangers mens team squad lists

Aaron Ramsay and Amad Diallo are still there

Could they be coming back?

1.) 06 Jun 2022 17:11:42
Hopefully not sydney. I would love us to go out and try get katai from red star. Thot he looked a class act.

2.) 06 Jun 2022 18:08:24

3.) 06 Jun 2022 18:54:53
Hope so.

4.) 06 Jun 2022 19:20:47
Wonder if they are just been kept up to the official end date of their loan.

5.) 06 Jun 2022 20:10:26
Would seem odd if the official end date of the loan wasn’t the end of the season which has now passed.

6.) 06 Jun 2022 20:33:48
Yip 31 may was when they officially went back to there clubs.

7.) 06 Jun 2022 21:03:15
Hope to see Both back, Diallo will be a baller think next season he would flourish at us.

8.) 06 Jun 2022 21:10:44
Mcgregor still listed. King is on the list but Lowry isn’t. Souttar has been added but no squad number. Zukowski is listed, where is he? Haven’t anything about him since his debut against Annan. Think it just needs updated properly, wouldn’t read too much into Ramsey and Amad still being on there but you never know!

9.) 06 Jun 2022 21:11:11
Diallo is single fish. No thanks.

10.) 06 Jun 2022 21:28:42
Cooper 11 zukowski is injured, should be back in pre season.

11.) 07 Jun 2022 03:40:20
Official team site was updated yesterday, no Katic listed either.

12.) 07 Jun 2022 12:07:54
Diallo certainly not that imo.

02 Jun 2022 11:54:48
First time poster, long time reader

No insider knowledge or connections, just my thoughts on the pre season ahead

Predicting another 8 players out along with (Ramsay, Itten, Amad)

6 new signings - (1 more defender, 2 midfielders, 2 wingers, 1 central striker)

Lowry promoted to first team

Kent, Morelos and Helander to follow Goldson, Davis, Arfield in signing new deals with McGregor to sign a player/ coach deal and reverse his role and play in cups only

Firth, Simpson, Katic (1.5) Bassey (£25 mil) Balogun
Aribo (£14mil) Kamara (£11mil) Ofoborh

Gets - Net revenue for FY 21/ 22 to hit almost £100mil a record total for any financial year

With a further £53mil to come before the end of the transfer window in player sales

£20mil investment in (6) new player acquisitions.

1.) 02 Jun 2022 12:33:11
I Like it and hope your right and welcome mate!

2.) 02 Jun 2022 12:43:43
Reasonable post Sydney, be very disappointed if we dump ofobhor, we have a duty of care.

3.) 02 Jun 2022 13:17:09
100% John we shouldn’t just be getting rid of the young boy.

I don’t think Bassey will go either.

4.) 02 Jun 2022 13:53:39
Not sure re Bassey in relation to player trading model, if offered in excess 22 million addons sell on he is likely to go.

I’m told. Ofobhor will do full pre season, I. Hope so.

5.) 02 Jun 2022 14:01:20
I don’t think Bassey will go mate. Another season will provide the evidence if he is worth a 15+ Million transfer fee. I do think Aribo and Kamara will be sold along with Herlander. We now have Soutar, Goldson, Herlander, Balogun, Katic and of course King. We have 2 for each back position. Midfield we have Jack, Lundstrum, Arfield and Davis with Hagi and hopefully Lowery. So creative midfielder maybe? If Kent and Alfie stay with Wright, Rolfe and Salaka. I think we need another keeper with another wide player and 2 forwards. So spot on around 5-6 players.

6.) 02 Jun 2022 14:10:02
Whether bassey stays or goes will depend on what we're offered, if we're offered anything around 20 million imo he's gone, couldn't expect the board to turn down that type of money.

7.) 02 Jun 2022 14:31:15
I am hoping that we keep Bassey and extend his contract. I am also hoping that we secure Aribo, Kent and Morelos on new contracts. We need to keep our best players unless we are offered significant monies for them and we need to spend any money received on equal or better quality replacements. (That doesn't necessarily mean big outgoing transfer fees, there are a number of quality players available on Bosmans but they won't come cheap.
I would like to see us sign a quality replacement for McGregor, a new centre back, an attacking midfield player, a striker and a striker. I reckon that we can afford to let Helander go and would like to think that we can offload Simpson and some of our other fringe players and I wouldn't be averse to seeing Roofe moved on if we could get decent money for him.

8.) 02 Jun 2022 14:32:16
Bassey for £20 million fits the business model.
Buy cheap, sell high.

9.) 02 Jun 2022 14:40:50
Cant see aribo leaving or bassey unless a offer comes in that we can't refuse.
2 strikers, and a right winger is a must this window.

10.) 02 Jun 2022 15:50:15
Player sales will happen. Board stated this was coming. If big offers come in then unfortunately i think the board will sell. Danger we have is if we don't sell in the summer then some players can sign pre-contract in Jan then leave for free.

11.) 02 Jun 2022 15:50:42
Aribo wants to leave.

12.) 02 Jun 2022 16:19:51
Did he say that?

13.) 02 Jun 2022 16:25:33
Yes GVB.

14.) 02 Jun 2022 16:34:47
I would sell Aribo for £14m with a sell on % - no danger! I like him but I don't think he suits the current system. I think if we have Gio even a quarter of that he could find a great RW who would take our play up a level.

15.) 02 Jun 2022 17:02:51
14mil? He has a 10mil release clause.

16.) 02 Jun 2022 17:15:45
If we can then hold on to Bassey will bring a lot of options in defence. Definitely a fully fit striker who can give us 20 goals a season. Right side attacker and a box to midfielder. With the addition of the young lads coming through. Please Santa.

17.) 02 Jun 2022 17:15:49
Ace that news to me, so Aribo stated he would like to leave?

18.) 02 Jun 2022 17:18:04
Where did he say he wants to leave?

19.) 02 Jun 2022 17:22:57
Gvb aribo said no such thing.

20.) 02 Jun 2022 17:36:14
Someone posted earlier saying that he told the club that he won't sign a new deal, he wants to go back to England.

21.) 02 Jun 2022 17:55:19
Wasn't aware he had a £10m release clause. At that price surprised he hasn't left already. In the mental January windows that's nothing to prem clubs.

22.) 02 Jun 2022 18:33:34
Apparently the release clause only kicked in now that he is in the final year of his contract TrueBlue.

23.) 02 Jun 2022 19:13:52
So you don’t know that he said that then .

24.) 02 Jun 2022 20:38:25
No one on here knows what anyone in the club has said storm.

25.) 02 Jun 2022 21:52:40
But you were seemingly adamant in your post that he said he wants to leave, and are then passing the buck onto someone else.

26.) 02 Jun 2022 22:05:23
Well why did you say he wants to leave then ???.

27.) 03 Jun 2022 09:54:06
Great analytical post Sydney Ger, I hope Bassey stays, I notice you never mentioned Barisic, I feel he will move on, as I see Bassey as always being 1st choice LB, welcome mate, good stuff.

28.) 03 Jun 2022 15:13:59
Great piece covering off the current contract status of all our squad from the boys on the Rangers Review today, completely agree with much that was said

We need a refresh and injection into our squad without changing the first 11 too much

Aribo - (sell £14mil) Last year of contract, does he really suit Gio’s system, he’s not a natural 10 or wide right player, we need a cutting edge and someone who can play that killer pass in that 10 position, someone who can provide that spark and add more assists and goals consistently

Lowry - is that player for me long term who will do that

Hagi - I think given some additional coaching has the potential to absolutely kill the (10) position, he just needs to speed up his transition (defence to attack)

John Fleck - has been mentioned and I would be happy to have him back, £2-3 mil for someone who plays as often as him is a steal, knows our club and would give absolutely everything for the jersey, he would score 10 plus goals a season easy

Billy Gilmour - Although we are well stocked in CDM, either a one year loan, then sign on a Bosman/ high sign on fee or £8-10mil this transfer window, he’s young Scottish and has the potential to be the next Luca Modric, I feel this is one we are seriously looking into

Kamara - (sell £11mil) Would he be a dead cert starter, next season, Jack and Lundstram will be first pick holding CMs, and does he fit a Gio 10 style player (no)

We need 2 attacking midfielders in the door who are true game changers

Bassey - (sell £25mil plus) Simply put, Jan 22, would we have taken £40mil for Nathan Patterson and Calvin Bassey (yes 100%) his stock will never be higher, a young left sided CB, athletic and fast, an absolute steel at £25 mil and I think with add ons we will get close to £30 mil, he is currently being looked at seriously by every top team in Europe

Although disappointing to see players leave, I am so happy to see our club being managed so well, the board have backed this squad for years without selling when selling was the easy option

Maintaining the squad, investing in the squad is now really bearing fruit, as we have so many high value assets

This transfer window will take us to the next level, financial stability and a very strong squad, equiped for SPL and Champions League

Our youth system and recruitment into that system (Ross Wilson’s Southampton Model) is and will be what makes us strong moving forwards.

29.) 03 Jun 2022 15:55:25
Ger88 that’s him all over the back it’s so he can say it wasn’t him that got it wrong it’s embarrassing not man enough to admit he got it wrong.

Theres been a clamour recently for us to have a Kris Boyd type player who would just get us goals in the SPL

Read Colak’s stats, very impressive

If Morelos stays he would be first pick striker for all Euro and important games

If Morelos leaves we will buy an additional marquee striker

Colak would be purchased as a quality replacement for Itten, with the emphasis on quality.

He had previous of running his contract down at Charlton so great forward planning by us to ensure we got a fee

Also puts the lad in a great position to negotiate a very nice EPL salary and set himself up for life, as £10 mil is a drop in the ocean for most of the teams in that league.

To write that into his contract 3 years ago was great business

20% sell on, on top of that fee, awesome

Great info again @john25.

Just looked at his goal ratio

Outwidth mediocre spells at PAOK and FC Kaiserslautern his stats are a 1 in 2 striker

Very impressive.

Great post @kaisercaullid

The only issue being the disharmony caused by too many people running down there last year

Big Goldson was an exception to the rule as he was professional to his last day

And great point, we can still sell if we get through to the champs league proper

As I said before, also a great shop window for players like Kent and Morelos, who may fetch bigger fees in the last few days of the window.

Would a team part with £20 mil if he finds his early season shooting boots and fires us to the champions league

The qualifiers should be when he is back to being match sharp after a good pre season with the rest of the players.

Decent squad player, hard working

I personally haven’t seen enough final passes or key goal participations for somebody playing for Glasgow Rangers

He’s super quick or super skillfull enough for me, good back up though.

If he can reach financial settlement with Juve

Becomes a free agent and has basically been paid for the season, I think he will come back in a heartbeat

Prep for World Cup, winning and challenging for trophies and puts him in the shop window for a move the following season.

Good post @haggis1872 and good insights

If we look at our most recent ventures in the market for season 2021/ 22, this transfer windows we didn't get too many that come into and changed the first 11 other than Lundstram

This clearly shows we signed players based on free transfers or a minimal signing fee, or loans

Quantity over quality

This was obviously impacted and based on the financials and the impact of C.V. and lost revenue the season before which was aprox circa £40 mil annual revenue, down almost £23 mil from the previous season

Where as look at the transfer windows the season before, for season 2020/ 21 where we had revenue at aprox circa £60 mil the previous season

Those transfer windows we signed quality players for reasonable transfer fees or loans who contributed to a better first 11

This enabled a higher standard day to day and an unbeaten season 20/ 21

This seasons revenue will be much higher, due to a few factors, increased commercial revenue and match day sales due to Europa league run, Europa league prize money, player trading model, and our continued backing via season ticket sales from us fans

On the back of that we now have money to get quality this season,

But we first had to reduce a large inflated squad number that SG assembled based on quantity over the last few windows

List of 21/ 22 signings below, no or marginal fees involved, remember due to appearance numbers, I don’t think we actually paid anything substantial for Bacuna

Vs list of 20/ 21 signings below, transfer fees and larger base salaries

This window will propel us forward, eventuating to a high quality squad.
